Mallard v Bishop

September 5th, 2014 at 12:00 pm by David Farrar

The Herald reports:

“Nervous.” ’s response about his chances of holding on to seems odd, considering he has held the seat for 21 years.

But boundary changes this year could swing as many as 2500 votes from red to blue. The seat now covers all of the Western Hills, formerly in Peter Dunne’s Ohariu seat, and loses Labour-leaning suburb Naenae.

Throw in National candidate , highly regarded by his party, and a few high-profile visits to the electorate by John Key and Steven Joyce, and the contest heats up.

If Chris Bishop does win the seat, I suspect David Cunliffe may send him a bouquet of flowers!

Mallard is being thrashed by Bishop at all the. Meet the Candidates meetings. word onthe street is that all weal Labour mps will struggle as the tide is going out nationwide and many marginal and even safe seats could fall to the rising tide that lifts all National boats.

National supporters I know of in the Hutt are scheming to give their party vote to National, but their electorate vote to the dinosaur Mallard – to undermine Labour’s much needed rejuvenation of their party after the election. Machiavellian beyond even Mallard’s abilities!

It’s hard to imagine anything more sweet than seeing puncher Mallard lose his seat. The dim-bulb who voted to pass the EFA and didn’t put an authorisation on his little red “Vote Labour” van should have prosecuted and ineligible to stand back in 2008 !

And people complain about dodgy “behind the scenes” emails, lol, while out in the open ordinary folks plan the outcome independent of political spin. :)

Perhaps after being ejected from Parliament Mallard could continue to earn a living scalping tickets from some other Labour MP’s office ?

One more joy for Mallard would be if he lost his seat he could move to the same school zone his kids go to – He’s a big supporter of forcing people to send their kids to their local in-zone school – even if he’s not done it himself while being an MP.

With our wonderful electoral system, losing Mallard will just allow Labour to keep Maryan Street.

Oh no Parliament with out the Mallard

Help the Sargent-at-Arms will get made redundant!!!

The Serjeant-at-Arms is responsible to the Speaker for the maintaining proper standards of behaviour in the galleries and areas around the debating chamber.

Since the Wainui RSA closed and the duck race finished Trev’s lost a bit of flotation over here.

If Chris wins we could set up a Nuns and Bishops day! :)
