The bout I just watched. Joe Ellenburger(their favourite) Christian name vs Barberena his surname, they kinda blotted their copybook constantly referring to Joe vs Barberena. Joe this, Joe that, Barberena this etc..
And Joe lost, Barberena beat him convincingly.

Rogan picked it wrong. And that was his first one sided commentary that I have heard.

PS. Dos Santos, wish I could put a couple of thou on him to win by knockout.

Kate and Wills slammed as ‘royal robots’

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been slammed by the British tabloid media for being “royal robots” in “mumsy dresses and dad-trousers” during their US visit.

But other commentators were more charitable, saying the royals’ wardrobe showed the couple as a united front and reflected a deliberate downmarket repositioning of the British monarchy.

Britain’s traditionally royalist Daily Mail said on Thursday the glamour had evaporated just four years after William and Kate’s fairytale wedding, describing the pair as “dull as Windsor moat water”.

“There isn’t an occasion they can’t live down to and they almost always fail to exhibit the sense of grandeur and dignity that the monarchy demands,” the tabloid said, adding that they had become a “Mr and Mrs Bland who trundle around the world in mumsy dresses and dad-trousers, saying not very much at all”.

The newspaper was commenting on the royals’ three-day visit to the US, a trip BBC royal correspondent Nicholas Witchell said showed the couple avoiding the “competition that existed between Prince William’s father and mother when they were fulfilling engagements”.

“Instead there is a realistic awareness of each other’s ability to command column inches and a desire to work together to achieve the maximum impact,” Witchell said.

It was a point taken up by The New York Times, which said the couple’s clothes, “in their absolute boringness, made a serious statement“.

It said the trip showed William and Kate engaged in the “repositioning of the royal family as normalish folks, in touch with the proverbial ‘real life’, which has been going on since they woke up and smelled the popular dissatisfaction at the turn of the millennium.”

The mind boggles when it comes to imagining the kind of person who wrote this “article” (in the broadest sense of the word), and the kind of person who decided to publish it.

So let’s return the favour, and judge the media’s dress standards, as represented by this “article” (in the broadest sense of the word):
– Superficial
– Pathetic
– Judgmental

This “article” (in the broadest sense of the word) isn’t news – it’s a pile of stinking crap – no wonder I don’t bother buying newspapers these days.

More importantly, there really is no such thing as Satanism anyway. I believe in Satan, but the concept of actual satanic groups (in the real sense of what that would mean) is largely urban myth.

Not remotely. You actually don’t even get the point I am making. You’re too busy indulging in petulant outrage.

My point was not that any article someone links to automatically means a person agrees with it. My point was that in using a source like Makow, it is reasonable to critique that source based on all the things Makow claims, because if he is wrong in one area, he may be wrong elsewhere.

What you do, and it really is only you, is link to articles APPROVINGLY and then try to claim that we should only critique the bits you conveniently want to be looked at. As I said, it’s a dishonest shell game.

Sources are open to critique Reid. That may not suit you, because you use poor sources, but that is the reality of debate. And if you do not want anything you say or claim to be critiqued, you are free to go play tiddly winks instead.

It’s not the source which establishes veracity it’s the information in the piece itself. The piece is of course open to full and total critique, but why is the site its hosted on, in the context of what the interweb actually is, also similarly exposed? Why?

For according to you, this means that every single thing every source you approve of is always true, no matter it says, and every single source you don’t approve of is always false, no matter what it says.

So if say, Fox News suddenly announces that Israel needs to kill every single Palestinian in its territory, then if you approve of that source, you’re bound, by your own fucked in the head rules, to agree with that outrageous suggestion. Aren’t you.

The national Govt. has now placed you and everyone else in the very unenviable position that if you cause an accident that injures someone else you may be liable for ACC topups that could run out to $ 500k.

From December 6, as a result of the Sentencing Amendment Act 2014, if you’re convicted of an offence causing injury, the Courts could increase the amount of reparations to pay.

“Many New Zealanders will be blissfully unaware that from last Saturday if, for example, they commit a motoring offence or a breach of health and safety legislation that causes personal injury to someone else they could be forced to pay reparations over and above ACC compensation limits,” says Insurance Council chief executive Tim Grafton.

ACC currently limits loss of income payments to 80 per cent of their income and no more than $1818 a week.

“This means that if you caused the injury to someone, the Courts could require higher payments to be made by the guilty party,” says Tim.

“This creates a double standard in treatment where those suffering an injury as a result of a motoring offence, for example, have the potential to gain greater compensation than those suffering the same injury when no offence was involved or no-one was prosecuted.”

Exposure to higher reparations orders can extend to many other areas, such as health and safety breaches in the workplace, breaching the Dog Control Act or many other instances where an offence results in bodily injury.

“It also opens up compensation to overseas visitors. So, you wouldn’t want to cause a crash that badly injures a tour coach of well-heeled foreign tourists for example,” adds Tim.

“Insurance companies will be closely monitoring developments and some may consider changes to policies to cover the exposures from this Act.”

I assume you hallucinate Sky is acceptable. But what if that very same series was on say, Al Jazeera?

Because the Auckland ‘$upercity for the 1%’ has been an absolute DISASTER for the overwhelming majority of citizens and ratepayers of the Auckland region – rates and Council debt have sky-rocketed, while services, democracy and transparency have plummeted.

Seven former Councils have now been replaced with seven ‘Council Controlled Organisations’ (CCOs – otherwise known as CA$H COW ORGANISATIONS), each controlled by unelected boards of business people, each with their own CEO, offices, office staff, consultants and contractors …

So much for the much-vaunted ‘economies of scale’.

Where’s the democracy, transparency and accountability under this ‘CORPORATE Controlled Organisation?

Bigger contracts for fewer but bigger private contractors is what these ‘$upercities’ are really all about.

It’s a MASSIVE dose of ‘commercialise – corporatise – PRIVATISE Rogernomic$ – now at local government level.

First CCOs – then PPPs?

But – you folks from the Wellington regional area CAN stop this!

You can petition for a binding POLL, to which you can then say NO!

Here is the LAW – which spells out your lawful right to a POLL on this proposed amalgamation:

(1)If a final proposal has been issued under clause 21(1)(a) or (b), affected electors may demand a poll to determine whether or not the final proposal is to proceed and become a reorganisation scheme.

(2)A poll may be demanded under subclause (1) by a petition of 10% or more of affected electors enrolled in the district of a territorial authority.

(a)the number of affected electors enrolled as eligible to vote in the district of the territorial authority; and

(b)the number of those electors who have signed the petition; and

(c)whether the number of those electors who signed the petition constitute 10% or more of the affected electors enrolled in the district of the territorial authority.

(7)To avoid doubt, a petition may not be started before a final proposal is issued.

(8)For the purposes of this subpart, petition means 1 or more petitions submitted to the Commission that relate to the same final proposal.

Penny, I can appreciate that in answering so much fed-back, you could confuse some responses, or occasionally you make an assumption without backing it up with FACTS,.
However you will not be able to quote any time on Kiwiblog I have ever said I do not read what you have to say.

But you are right insofar as ratepayers need to stand up to this blatant forcing of amalgamation by a stacked Local Government Commission.

Do you have any thoughts on the Parole Board’s decision to release the Beast of Blenheim, otherwise known as convicted sex offender Stewart Murray Wilson, in March 2015?

The full reasons for the decision will apparently be released tomorrow.

Personally, I can’t understand the Parole Board’s decision, given that Wilson breached his parole conditions last year:

The serial sex offender known as the ‘Beast of Blenheim’ has taken the unusual step of giving a personal letter to the media after being sentenced to six months imprisonment for breaching parole last year.

Stuart Murray Wilson was parolled under strict conditions in 2012 to live in a house in Whanganui Prison grounds but was recalled to the jail after making a phone call last year to a woman he was instructed not to contact.

Wilson changed his plea to guilty shortly before the case was due to go to trial and a second charge of breaching parole was withdrawn in the Whanganui District Court this morning.

Before being taken from the court to jail, Wilson left a document on the media bench, which was addressed to the court. In the document, he claimed his guilty plea was made with prejudice and claimed his parole breach was a victimless offence.

Outside court, Wilson’s lawyer said he would appeal the six month sentence.

Not the sign of a reformed criminal, I would have thought?

I note this extract from Wikipedia:

Wilson was recalled on an interim basis in February 2013 after Corrections claimed he had made a phone call to a woman he had been restricted from contacting because she was a relative of one of his victims. When he appeared before the Board in April 2013, the Board made the recall ‘indefinite’. The Board said he still posed an undue risk to the community after it emerged that he talked with the woman about leaving the country and said he “remained deceptive in his behaviour and selective in what he chose to disclose to his probation team”.[24] This means that Wilson is likely to remain in prison until the end of his sentence in September 2015, after which release conditions can be imposed for a maximum of six months. The Corrections Department is seeking an extended supervision order against Wilson for a term of 10 years, starting when his parole or release conditions come to an end.[25]

I wonder if the Parole Board has set a trap for Wilson – let him out in March 2015 and see if he breaches his parole conditions during the six-month period up to September 2015 – if so, back inside prison he goes!

Anyway, as I say, it’ll be interesting to read the Parole Board’s full decision when it’s released tomorrow.

Anyone know WHO exactly appointed the current Local Government Commissioners?

As I understand it – decisions relating to Corporate (sorry) Council Controlled Organisations (CCOs) will be made by these Local Government Commissioners?

BEWARE! CCO’s are the mechanism for this corporate takeover – as has been the case in Auckland.

In terms of the ‘advice’ or ‘recommendations’ upon which these Local Government Commissioners were relying for their ‘Wellington Supercity’ amalgamation proposal – I haven’t yet had a chance to check them out – but – somewhere will be the BIG business push, which will allow the greater Wellington region to be run ‘like a business, by business – FOR business’ .

Follow the dollar …..

Just as has happened in Auckland, when the John Key led National/ACT Government forced this SUPER RIPOFF upon us, by railroading through the House legislation which trumped citizens and ratepayers’ LAWFUL right to a binding POLL of electors on this DISASTROUS ‘amalgamation.

You have an opportunity to STOP this Wellington ‘$upercity’ folks!
