You are as bad as the likes of Cha, Mookinmild etc when it comes to Gold. I will spell it out it bold letters what Gold is and what is is not.

GOLD IS NOT AN INVESTMENT, IT IS MONEY

The banking community and entire Western Media has turned gold into an ETF/investment/futures POS so that people lose sight of what it really is. Make no mistake, other nations know what gold really is. Gold is the only real money on earth that:

has outlasted generations;

has outlasted civilizations;

has outlasted wars;

outlives political malfeasance;

does not discriminate by color, race, or creed;

has no borders;

can not be duplicated by central bankers;

is recognised globally;

and is demonised by the Feral Reserve to support the petro dollar and by Statists to support the ever expanding welfare state.

Ron Paul knows this and while the US dollar may be recognised globally, gold has it beat in every other department.

Ron Paul is trying to wake up the American sheeple so when the paper ponzi inevitably collapses people might remember what the “crazy old crank” once said and then hopefully rebuild a better society based on honest money.

I’m trying hard to understand the point of your post in relation to what I said but I’m struggling.

The thrust of my post and the point Ron Paul was making is that the Christmas truce on the Western Front was an example of what happens when people recognise their common humanity and ignore the central planners who want them to kill each other. It is not a post on what happened elsewhere on that day in WWI.

Perhaps Hermann Goering summed up the futility of war for the common man who are used to do the powers that be bidding when he said at the Nuremburg Trials:

“Naturally the common people don’t want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY.”

Did you click on the source link? That would have helped.

A few points
1) Those truces, while they happened, were rare.
2) After 1914, they did not happen, and not because of the generals and war planners
3) Part of our common humanity is to kill each other, especially if our friends and family have been killed by the enemy (note lack of fraternisation with the French and Germans)

Apparently the real dinkum story.
The police are excited.
It’s such fun.

A photo of a horse being carried on the open tray of a ute has outraged police.

The horse appears to be standing without any support or restraint on the small truck.

“Speechless” was the comment today on the Facebook page of the Houhora police, New Zealand’s northernmost police post.

Is it moral to hobble talented, more able people in the name of “equality”?

Is it moral for an individual to create inequality (i.e., make themselves different from others) through their own talent and hard work/lack of work and laziness? Remembers, inequality can be created when people don’t pull their weight. The door swings both ways.

There’s actually not much of substance in the piece you linked to, and neither is there on the further links on the page you linked to, all of which seem to go to the same critic.

On the penis pics – he’s a man and men can be idiots, no matter how smart they are.

As for Snowden being a Russian spy – I think that as well. Why else go hide out in Russia? I posted some links to comments a while back by a Russian defector who was involved in Russian intelligence and thought the same thing.

In other words, not as discredited as you say.

The argument essentially comes down to the point made by Hayek, which is that it is equality before the law which is desirable and essential for a just society, but which inevitably results in material differences as people pursue their own happiness in different ways.

Anyone who advocates coercive financial equality is necessarily arguing for inequality before the law; for certain groups to be favoured over others.

The attitude by the Police towards the growing road toll is pissing me off. Shit happens. From what I understand many accidents have been caused by driver inattention not just bloody speed. I wish they would stop this … we will book you for exceeding the speed limit by 1 k crap….. I have just come back from a 4 hour drive in the country on a major state highway with no cops seen but some stupid driving not involving speed.

Rather than sit in a shaded area on the road side operating their speed guns on long straight roads to ping the soft targets the patrols should out actively patrolling catching the real offenders who drive dangerously. We used to do this years ago. Why has it changed ?

Too right. The number of idiots I see driving and either on the phone or looking into their laps ( texting) is unbelievable.

A study showed 80 % of deaths occured under the limit. Obsession with ‘speed” is revenuve gathering.

I agree it’s purely revenue collection. I still have a good number of contacts in the job and over Xmas / New Year the instruction from up high is “Traffic Enforcement to the max “. Not all districts are complying but many are.

Bring back the good old days of MOT looking after traffic as the average cop just wants to catch burglars.

These cases bring to mind the argument in favour of a diversity of minorities, which are considered the foundation of a pluralistic society. Alexis de Tocqueville made this observation in his Democracy in America.
But this view has increasingly been eclipsed by developments in the West, where minorities have gained political power at the expense of majorities.
Democracy is intended to be all-inclusive, but it is increasingly being hijacked by minorities – robber barons, conservationists, cyclists, unionists, environmentalists, chicken farmers and what not. This is not healthy for an inclusive system.
