Whatever Don Quixote accuses me of must be true. He is after all a reliable ~~Laborite, Dunnite~~ independent and very balanced observer.

How very noble of you looking out for Manolo like that graham. I think you’ve gone in to bat for her before haven’t you? I’m sure Manolo can stick up for herself with a few more inane one-liners.

Did you got to The Standard and advise OAB I posted about him?
Did you go to the Beehive and advise John Key I posted about him?
Did you go to Green HQ and tell Norman, Hague, Turei and Shaw I posted about them?

Still seems to be very selective concern about manners to me.

Not looking out for or sticking up for Manolo, merely bringing the story to her attention (I have no idea whether Manolo is male or female, but as you seem very sure I’ll go with female).

And yes I’m sure Manolo can stick up for herself also. So I’ll leave her to do so, if she chooses.

For Fox to post numbers that they haven’t seen since August of 2001 (before 9/11) is a painful blow to both their reputation and their bank account. But they have even bigger problems. The viewers that do tune in to Fox are significantly older than viewers of their competitors. Fox News has always had the oldest skewing audience in cable news. With a median age of 68.8 years, Fox’s audience is over six years older than either CNN or MSNBC. It’s even worse for their top rated program (O’Reilly) who’s average viewer is over 72 years old. And their Great Blonde Hope (Kelly), who was specifically brought in to draw younger viewers, also exceeded Fox’s average with her typical viewer voyeur being over 70.

An analysis of the audience composition for the three cable news networks shows that Fox’s total audience contains a pitiful 20% of the 25-54 age group favored by advertisers. It’s even worse for their primetime schedule where only 15% fall into that group. That compares to CNN with 30%/35% respectively, and MSNBC with 31%/28%. In other words, CNN and MSNBC draw 50% more total viewers in the younger demos, and they double Fox’s ratio in primetime.

Heh, I shave it off. It;s the NA part of me. Thick, black hair that just grows straight and can’t do a damn thing with it, and it used to drive me nuts in summer.

I originally shaved it for a silly theme party, liked it so much I just kept doing it!

Yup, I really had to put a stake through his heart. Kinda like waking up from a night out on the drink and finding yourself next to a women you would not normally touch with a ten foot barge pole, I started taking notice of the other people on the hard Right and thought “shit, I really don’t like these people! Their nuts”

Plus, getting a little older, anyone with an ounce of sense start’s to see that the world is not black and white.

Seeing how extreme the nutters are makes you think.. do I really want to identify politically with a bunch of loons ?
Especially when the more liberal seem to be more capable of sane debating using facts rather than content less rhetoric .

Exactly. I also started noticing the horseshoe issue, that the extreme Right sounded a helluva like the extreme Left in their ideas, policies, and tendency to use paranoid conspiracy theories to avoid reality.

I think brash has been demonized by the left far in access as his actual position.
His tenure at the reserve bank left a lasting legacy giving us a far more stable economic landscape.

In March 2013, Brash joined the debate over the future of Auckland, saying land needed to be freed up for residential zoning so house prices would come down, at odds with Mayor Len Brown’s plan to stop urban sprawl and build the city upwards

Even his ideas around social welfare I still agree with knowing of far to many feral family’s who breed indiscriminately on the benefit leaving a legacy of broken children for us to continue to pay for indefinitely

The Obama budget calls for a stealth increase in the death tax rate from 40% to nearly 60%.

Under current law, when you inherit an asset your basis in the asset is the higher of the fair market value at the time of death or the descendant’s original basis. Almost always, the fair market value is higher.

Under the Obama proposal, when you inherit an asset your basis will simply be the descendant’s original basis.

Example: Dad buys a house for $10,000. He dies and leaves it to you. The fair market value on the date of death is $100,000. You sell it for $120,000. Under current law, you have a capital gain of $20,000 (sales price of $120,000 less step up in basis of $100,000). Under the Obama plan, you have a capital gain of $110,000 (sales price of $120,000 less original basis of $10,000).
