Fletcher Tabuteau : Given that he stated that all New Zealanders should trust him regarding the Trans-Pacific Partnership deal, why then, with the endgame now playing out and after years of negotiations, is your Minister of Trade now saying: “It’s not to say that there’s a bad deal on dairy products; it’s more to say that there’s no deal.”?

Rt Hon JOHN KEY : Because the Minister is technically correct. We are in a negotiating phase, and so there is not actually a completed deal yet.

Fletcher Tabuteau : In saying that he would like to do some more for the dairy industry, what will he do for Beef and Lamb New Zealand and the Fonterra Cooperative Group, which have gone on record saying that they would struggle to support the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement if, like the Chinese free-trade deal and the South Korean free-trade deal, there are no actual free-trade clauses for them in the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement?

Rt Hon JOHN KEY : The member will have to wait and see, on the basis that the US Senate ultimately gets through it and we get to a deal. But on the basis of what I have seen as being proposed at the moment, I think net-on-net the benefits are positive for New Zealand, and many sectors, I think, will be happy.

Help is available for those who need it…

Anger Management is an effective way of dealing with problems created by anger. Many people in Christchurch are turning to anger therapy to get help with the difficulties associated anger.

Anger is a natural emotion, just as valid as any other feeling we as humans experience. Problems arise when we lack the necessary skills to express our feelings appropriately.

Often we struggle to meet our daily commitments, this can cause stress which left unchecked can lead to multiple health problems both mental and physical. Stress has now been named as a major cause of death in New Zealand.

Often outbursts or “rage” episodes can affect our relationships both at work and at home. Many people find themselves in front of a Magistrate as a result of these outbursts.Courts are now also sentencing people to counselling as part of thier probation and often will require a presentence report from a Psychologist.

During therapy, clients will be made aware of the main triggers to rage and how to develop effective coping strategies.

immigration is always positive for per capita growth”. The Treasury paper concurs with the

behaviour of the New Zealand economy to give clear answers on the overall effects on per
capita incomes of existing residents.” Helping to complicate the debate are the strongly held
views on the subject. It has been noted that “a number of researchers in this emotive area had
views pro or anti immigration, and that this had perhaps coloured their conclusions”(Chapple,
Yeabsley, Gorbey and Poot: 1994).

Despite the lack of empirical support, the generally accepted view in New Zealand, as with
other traditional settlement countries Australia and Canada, is that immigration is beneficial
for the economy (OECD, 2004 Note 71). This view is based partly on the fact that these
societies were built on immigration flows, and partly based on the observation that certain
“agglomerations” tend to have higher productivity rates. Historically, these nations have
benefited from immigration in-flows to provide labour to exploit their relatively large
endowments of resources.

This paper extends the debate on the effects of immigration by examining the effects of recent
migration to New Zealand. The next section presents evidence that although designed to raise
human capital, immigration policy is having the opposite effect, thereby lowering per capita
growth in the Auckland region. Section three considers how immigration diverts capital to the
property sector, while the last section considers other costs stemming from the activities in the
preceding sections.

The politics of the flag are complicated in South Carolina. A November poll from Winthrop University found that 73% of whites in the state want the flag to remain where it is. The same poll reported that 61% of blacks want it taken down.

“If we look at what the Confederate flag meant in the past, you can’t help but feel negative thoughts, especially now,” said 24-year-old Meghan Delaney. “It should have been taken down a long time ago. If not now, when?”

For some whites, many of whom can trace their ancestry back to the Civil War, the flag represents heritage and pride.

The urine sample

One time I got sick and landed in the hospital.

There was this one nurse that just drove me crazy.

Every time she came in, she would talk to me like I was a little child.

She would say in a patronising tone of voice, “And how are we doing this morning?”

Or

“Are we ready for a bath?” or “Are we hungry?”

I had had enough of this particular nurse.

One day at breakfast, I took the apple juice off the tray and put it in my bedside stand.

Later I was given a urine sample bottle to fill for testing.

So you know where the juice went!

The nurse came in a while later, picked up the urine sample bottle, looked at it and said, “My, my, it seems we are a little cloudy today.”

At this, I snatched the bottle out of her hand, popped off the top, and gulped it down, saying, “Well, I’ll run it through again. Maybe I can filter it better this time!”

The nurse fainted… I just smiled.
