A huge privacy breach

The real estate agency employee who leaked the “confidential” sales data behind Labour’s Chinese house buying claims has been fired.

Barfoot & Thompson managing director Peter Thompson said a member of staff had leaked the information to the media and political officials.

The staff member’s contract has been terminated.

This is a huge privacy breach. If I was a house buyer, I’d be appalled that details of my purchase had been given to media and politicians.

I hope someone affected complains to the Privacy Commissioner.
