I didn’t get the name of the academic Larry Williams interviewed earlier but he was arguing that Paris had nothing to do with the migrants as he reckons if you look at all the major terrorist incidents in the last 10 years it has been done by 2nd or 3rd generation migrants from the country attacked. They are doing it because they feel down trodden and without hope or something similar.
Where do these academics come from ? Their bubble is even smaller than many politicians —I suppose most polis do get out of their office now and then.

I thought this idiot, trying to link the attacks to the hope for Paris climate agreement had reached the height of stupidity but he obviously has mates. ( NB the article was online within less than 24 hrs of the tragedy)

It is interesting that Egypt’s Al-Azhar university and mosque in Cairo last year issued a statement refusing to declare ISIS apostates.

Egypt’s Al-Azhar issued a statement Dec. 11, 2014, refusing to declare the Islamic State (IS) apostates. “No believer can be declared an apostate, regardless of his sins,” it read.

ISIS hate being called Daesh.

‘Daesh is technically an acronym for the Islamic State’s proper Arabic name, al-Dawla al-Islamiya fi al-Iraq wa al-Sham, and was used by ISIS members for a period of time. The word Daesh is now forbidden within the territory controlled by the Islamic State: If you say it, you run the risk of having your tongue cut’.

Buggers. According to the news the Govt is putting GST on purchases made overseas such as e-books and iTunes purchases. It starts next year.

GST will be slapped on Netflix subscriptions, iTunes downloads, Steam games and Amazon e-books within a year.

Revenue Minister Todd McClay said consumers would have to pay GST when they bought digital products and services from overseas firms from October 1.

Netflix’ Sydney-based spokesman Luke McClelland would not comment on whether the United States television company might absorb all or any of the 15 per cent charge, or would pass GST on to Kiwi consumers in full by adding it to its $12.99 to $15.99 monthly charge.

Apple, another company which will be impacted, has been approached for comment.

McClay first announced that the Government planned to impose the so-called “Netflix tax” in August.

The move is designed to close a loophole under which digital products and services can be bought from overseas firms tax free and is expected to raise about $40 million a year for the taxman.

McClay said he had now followed through by introducing the necessary legislation to Parliament.

The move was about “fairness and equity”, he said. It would put overseas firms on a level-playing field with New Zealand companies, which already had to charge GST on all services they sold New Zealanders, he said.

Spark is one of the companies that has campaigned for the change. Chief executive Simon Moutter has said it is unfair it has to charge GST on its subscription television service Lightbox, while overseas rivals such as Netflix did not.

Personally, I think it is taxing for the sake of taxing. None of these digital products passes through the hands of anyone in this country. Nothing to do with “fairness and equity”. Rather annoying. I hate being gouged for nothing.

Defending the indefendable. It’s Bush’s fault it’s Israels’ fault, it’s France’s fault ,it’s the host country’s fault (angry disenfranchised disillusioned unengaged young men,etc etc) It’s colonialism ,globalism, climate change ……..

It is never the fault of the fucking terrorist ( note they are “militants”or his ideology, Islam.Or of the politicians,academics ,media and other intellectuals who have allowed a desert death cult to become so deeply rooted and protected in the west , the west it is determined to destroy.

We have become too educated & too cynical for our own good. Everyone is encouraged to look beyond the obvious to seek the ‘hidden’ truth.

Regrettably the simplest explanation that’s staring us in the face is frequently the most factual.

According to the Bible Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Palestine, a country where people are called Mohammed, Abdul, Mounir, Aziz, Ahmed, Farid, Omar, Youssouf, Mouloud, etc……..
And yet he managed to find 12 friends called John, Peter, Paul, Phillip, Mark, Thomas, Luke, Matthew, Andrew and Simon…
who all drank wine, didn’t beat their wives or behead people!

That’s what I call a miracle!!!
