Inandout, I too have heard about the Honda CTV transmission that can be awfully costly to repair if something goes wrong. A car dealer advised me to sat clear when thinking about getting the awfully tempting Jazz or Fit fro my wife..

I took it and settled for a peace of mind Toyota Varis !

Although there has been some movement regarding the publishing for public scrutiny, some ‘devilish detail’ on Auckland Council and CCO spending on ‘awarded contracts’ to private consultants and contractors – we are STILL ‘not there yet’

Since the publicity arising from the attempt by Auckland Council to force the rating sale of my freehold home (over my disputing and refusal to pay rates because of their failure to state exactly where public rates monies were being SPENT) – there has been some movement by both Auckland Council and Watercare Services, regarding transparency in spending on ‘awarded contracts’.

Don’t believe a word I say – try googling for yourself, and see what you can find ?

You cannot, in my considered opinion, have genuine ‘transparency’ or ‘accountability’ in local (or central) government, when it comes to spending ratepayers (and taxpayers) public monies. without creating and maintaining full and accurate public records which are available for public scrutiny

When I am elected Mayor of Auckland, Auckland Council and CCOs WILL be held accountable to the ‘Rule of Law’ regarding citizens and ratepayers’ lawful rights to ‘open, transparent and democratically accountable’ local government.

And, unlike all the other (confirmed) 2016 Auckland Mayoral candidate, I’ve actually taken, in my view, effective action which has not been ignored.

(Check my proven track record 🙂

Somebody commented re the Christchurch Cathedral rebuild appears to be driven by Catholics in Christchurch – Anderton, Brownlee and Burton.
Could it be that if they can get Taxpayers money (Brownlee) for the Cathedral it will create a precedent for taxpayers money the rebuild of the Catholic Basilica.
Is it not time to say to Christchurch “enough” – many many billions of over the top taxpayer funds, in some extraneous way or not under some name, have been given to the city.
$225 million for an Art Gallery – bully under budget and under timescale.
Let the Anglicans do what they want with the Cathedral – this entirely political, hit off originally by Anderton.
Let the Ratepayers pay if it is what the Council want.
It is the Cathedral owners to decide.

He might be back in the island paradise of Hawaii, but Max Key’s Christmas holiday is missing one vital ingredient: girlfriend Amelia Finlayson.

The Prime Minister’s son posted a photo of the couple to Instagram this week, saying he had just landed in Hawaii and was “already missing” his “partner in crime”.

Finlayson gushed that she missed him too – although she is set to join the Key family at their holiday home shortly after Christmas.

Yawn. Can’t they find some real news to report on?

The ever growing Global warming dilemma – are they being truthful?

Government watchdog Judicial Watch has filed suit against the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), seeking documents relating to their methodology and internal communications with regard to climate change.

The group filed a FOIA request for the documents that was turned down. A congressional committee also demanded the documents that were just recently handed over to the committee after the agency initially refused to cooperate.

At issue is the belief that the NOAA and NASA routinely fiddle with air and ocean temperature data to reflect a bigger problem with global warming than is actually present. Methodology is important, but the key will be found in the internal communications at the agency. If there was any funny business with the data, it will be there.

Judicial Watch is likely to get at least some of the documents without a judge’s ruling. But it’s hard to justify withholding documents that shed light on how the agency interprets data, considering that this sort of information is important for other scientists to review and comment on. Across the government, it is becoming increasingly difficult to pry basic information about how the administration gathers, analyzes, and interprets data that justify its extreme position on climate change.

You’d think they had something to hide.

So basically if Christchurch Cathedral is to be re-built, the required funds must be raised in that manner, the Bishop cannot be expected to divert cashflows and funds needed for other purposes.

A Heritage lady told me the other day the ChCh Cathedral was built in stages, mainly by parishioners – some of it very badly indeed.

Maybe The Church should use the same method to build it’s replacement (a working bee every Saturday for the next decade or two?).

Well the ABC – that bastion of socialist journalism – has published an interesting article about peak oil:

With the world awash with too much crude oil at the moment, the fear of an economic catastrophe when fossil fuels start running out is quietly fading in the background. The prediction is known as peak oil — what happens when crude oil extraction hits its maximum and supplies begin a steady and permanent decline creating a global shock.

But now the peak oil argument is fast losing currency as global supplies of oil vastly outstrip demand, pushing the US benchmark price toward 30 US dollars a barrel.

Shane Oliver, chief economist at AMP Capital Investors, said the supply and demand table has well and truly turned on the once vocal peak oil advocates. “They’ve been talking about a peak in the global production of oil for the last two decades now and it still hasn’t happened, and I think the reality is that they are going to remain wrong going forward,” Dr Oliver told the ABC’s AM program. “Therefore the catastrophe that was predicted by the peak oil advocates, where oil production would peak and there would be huge economic impact globally, that just won’t happen.”

The peak oil argument has confronted a new global reality – or a new normal – driven by major geopolitical and economic factors rocking both the developed and developing world:
• US shale producers are pumping like never before and adding to stockpiles.
• With US sanctions lifted, oil-rich Iran is about to rejoin the global market.
• The OPEC oil cartel is refusing to tighten supplies to keep prices high betting that US producers will produce themselves out of business.

She said, ‘I’m going upstairs to my bedroom, and if you want one last wild fling, just come up and get me.’ I was stunned and frozen in shock as I watched her go up the stairs. I stood there for a moment, then turned and made a beeline straight to the front door. I opened the door, and headed straight towards my car. Lord… And behold, my entire future family was standing outside, all clapping! With tears in his eyes, my father-in-law hugged me and said, ‘We are very happy that you have passed our little test. We couldn’t ask for a better man for our daughter. Welcome to the family.’

And the moral of this story is: Always keep your condoms in your car.

Griff, NASA has altered its data to show warming that isn’t there.

Professor Dr. Friedrich Karl Ewert is a retired geologist and data computation expert. He has painstakingly examined and tabulated all NASA GISS’s temperature data series, taken from 1153 stations and going back to 1881. His conclusion: that if you look at the raw data, as opposed to NASA’s revisions, you’ll find that since 1940 the planet has been cooling, not warming.

According to Günter Ederer, the German journalist who has reported on Ewert’s findings:

From the publicly available data, Ewert made an unbelievable discovery: Between the years 2010 and 2012 the data measured since 1881 were altered so that they showed a significant warming, especially after 1950. […] A comparison of the data from 2010 with the data of 2012 shows that NASA-GISS had altered its own datasets so that especially after WWII a clear warming appears – although it never existed.

Apart from Australia, the planet has in fact been on a cooling trend:

Using the NASA data from 2010 the surface temperature globally from 1940 until today has fallen by 1.110°C, and since 2000 it has fallen 0.4223°C […]. The cooling has hit every continent except for Australia, which warmed by 0.6339°C since 2000. The figures for Europe: From 1940 to 2010, using the data from 2010, there was a cooling of 0.5465°C and a cooling of 0.3739°C since 2000.

Fletch Nasa has altered the raw data to make it more accurate.
Accounting for changes in measurement methods and site movements.
The global temperatures from the adjusted data shows less warming than the raw data .
This is due to taking into account the use of canvas buckets to measure sea water before the war being cooler than measurement at the engine intake.

They have adjusted global warming down not up.

You are talking absolute ignorant fuckwitterys as usual.

Supreme Court Justice David Lovell on Monday found Qasem Gardi, 25, guilty of the attempted murder of his then-girlfriend at Para Vista in October last year. In his written verdict, Justice Lovell said he had found, beyond reasonable doubt, that Gardi had intended to kill her when he first pulled her scarf or hijab.
