The problem with the left and PC in general is denying the conflict in core values between the cultures of Islam and the West. They spend time and energy defending an ideology that stands against every fundamental liberal value they thenselves believe in instead of discussing means of minimising the affects of this conflict that will clearly have no winners

Pretending there is no problem will only push people towards the so-called far ritgh and you only need so many to get Trump into the White House.

To be opposed to bigotry means one opposes bigotry regardless of its target. A person cannot be opposed to bigotry while supporting the bigotry directed at Muslims, it shouldn’t be too hard to understand.

Odakyu sen ,oh dear you seem to have caught the Islamaphobic virus quite badly .The left ( whatever it might mean) cannot be blamed for the fallout from the Syrian civil war and the rise of ISIS in Iraq .Both of which have seen the Human catastrophe there and the Syrian refugee crises in Europe .Islam too can be hardly blamed for both and many of it’s adherents in the ME could retort that if it were not the Wests ceaseless interference that has led to the current tragedy .

I find it somewhat ironic that people like you who have traditionally being two faced when it comes to feminism and misogyny , now have become unwitting allies in the same cause directed against an allegedly anti female religion .I’ve thought for a long time , as you maybe fully aware , the rabid right have a lot more in common with the “religion of peace ” than they would ever dare to admit .

A couple more boy racers bite the dust..oh dear how tragic. Actually I’m glad they won’t be around to take me and my dearest out.
5 hours later the road still blocked off. How long does it take these Police numpties to survey and photograph/video a crash site? Overtime rates for them maybe?
How much does it cost taxpayers, all these crashes?
Time for compulsory insurance I think..big premiums for high risk drivers, vehicles instantly impounded then sold if they don’t have it. Insurance companies can pay out the emergency services/hospitals etc and we’ll get more reasonable response at the scene.
So many fuckers getting in the way of my right to a safe & peaceful driving experience, nobody with any regard for taxpayer dollars.
Rant over for now…

What a glorious summers day today here – understandably quiet day on GD.

Another typical days commentary focusing mainly on the “what” in regards to the civilisational crisis facing the Gentile countries of Europe with yet more horror stories emerging.

This, truth be told, is an intellectual dead end as we can all read the alt media (and sometimes the controlled MSM) to read about the atrocities. We all know what is going on, even poor Stephieboy.

What I’d like to see more of is the WHO is behind bringing the invaders to Europe, WHY it is being done and HOW they are facilitating it with their full on propaganda through the MSM, “hate speech” laws and their altering of reality of the inhabitants of Gentile countries through Social movements such as feminism.

Remember how for years Gaddafi warned us that he was the only person able to stop the gates of hell opening across the Mediterranean? Like Saddam before him and Assad now, he was overthrown with assistance from “the West” in full knowledge it would create a power vacuum in a tribalist society and chaos would ensue.

That was the plan all along. Keep them confused, pervert the youth, send young women to indoctrination camps. Abort children, fill the streets with drugs and demand endless guilt from white men who were the only force that could rise up against international finance. Accuse white men of racism, blame them for the ‘Holocaust’, silence them with political correctness, threaten them with ‘Hate Legislation’. Impoverish white men with ‘Free Trade’. Ship the jobs to Mexico and China.

Now that they have weakened us with Hollywood filth and filled our nations with these dark angry parasites, the final act begins. Germany falls first, then Europe and America. They are preparing to destroy Russia in the same way they destroyed Germany the last time she resisted central banking. Let’s remind ourselves that the International Bank of Settlements was set up by the Rothschild Group after WW I to extract blood from an impoverished and defeated Germany. Over time, I’ve come to conceive of Naked Capitalism as an effort to promote critical thinking through the medium of a finance and economics blog.

In December 2006, I started writing because there was an obvious underreporting in the US of the severity and extent of the underpricing of risk in all credit instruments.

It didn’t take any great insight to recognize that. It’s hard to state emphatically enough how obvious it was to someone with reasonable financial markets experience who simply read the Financial Times and Bloomberg that the official narrative was a crock.

It was not hard to discern that the unprecedented “wall of liquidity” and the conviction among professionals that they could nevertheless make a safe exit when the time was right was going to end badly. But what was novel about the unwinding was that instead of ratcheting down over a period of years, like Japan after its real estate and stock market bubbles, the international financial markets suffered increasingly severe seizures, culminating in the upheaval of September and October 2008.

As a result of this crisis, the ambit of “finance and economics” has widened considerably. The dislocations of that cataclysm did not lead to fundamental reforms but instead to concerted efforts to restore status quo ante. That approach had entrenched the position of powerful and often predatory large international financial institutions and exacerbated income inequality via stealth bailouts to crippled firms, which have the side effect of perpetuating the use of asset bubbles to compensate for stagnant worker wages.

“…The general unsightliness of the capitol makes it a fitting home for today’s Arizona legislature, which is composed almost entirely of dimwits, racists, and cranks.Collectively they have bankrupted the state through a combination of ideological fanaticism on the Republican right and acquiescence and timidity on the part of G.O.P. moderates and Democrats. Although dozens of states are facing budget crises, the situation in Arizona is arguably the nation’s worst, graver even than in California. A horrific budget deficit has been papered over with massive borrowing and accounting gimmickry, and the state may yet have to issue IOUs to employees and vendors. All-day kindergarten has been eliminated statewide, and some districts have adopted a four-day school week. Arizona’s state parks, despite bringing in 2 million visitors and $266 million annually, have lost 80 percent of their budget, with up to two thirds of the parks now in danger of closure. The legislature slashed the budget for the Department of Revenue, which required the agency to fire hundreds of state auditors and tax collectors; lawmakers boasted that these measures saved $25 million, but a top official in the department estimated that the state would miss out on $174 million in tax collections as a result.

Any way out of Arizona’s crisis will require raising taxes, a move that is tantamount to heresy for most lawmakers. For nearly a year, the legislature refused to approve the emergency sales-tax increase (of just one cent per dollar) proposed by Governor Jan Brewer, a Republican who had been elected as secretary of state but assumed the top job in 2009 when Janet Napolitano joined the Obama Administration. Eventually, lawmakers passed the buck to voters by authorizing a May 18 statewide ballot on the sales tax—which passed, after a $2.2 million marketing effort by education and business groups—but before doing so they enacted tax cuts that over four years will deprive the state of more money than the sales-tax increase is estimated to bring in.
Instead, to raise cash, the legislature has pursued a series of wild sell-offs and budget cuts. It privatized the capitol building and leased it back from its new owner, an arrangement that brought in substantial revenue but over time will cost Arizona far more. The legislature has sold off numerous other state properties at bargain prices, and has put up future lottery revenues as collateral on a $450 million loan. Meanwhile, Arizona removed more than 300,000 adults from state health coverage and terminated one health-care program for 47,000 poor children. Funding was slashed at the agency that deals with reports of child abuse and neglect, and also at Children’s Rehabilitative Services, so that parents of children with cystic fibrosis, cerebral palsy, and a number of other conditions are now required to pay 100 percent of treatment costs…”

Muslims are adherents of Islam. Like most religions Islam is open to interpretation. Christianity and Judaism have some pretty whacky practitioners who carry on in ways not too dissimilar to the more conservative extremes within Islam. Christians and Jews, generally, are not held accountable for the activities of the extremes within their communities in the manner expected of Muslims. Which is why the reflexive condemning of Muslims generally, for the activities of extreme groups within their ranks, reeks of bigotry.

Something like 97% of the victims of Muslim terrorism are Muslims, this trope that moderate Muslims are quietly standing by watching is just another example of the bigotry aimed at Muslims generally.

Islam us indeed open for interpretations BUT not its fundamental values.Christias stopped burning witches ages ago, Jews and Christians do not kill apostates even though the old testament demands it yet apostacy is not allowed at best in Islamic countries and punishable in the rest.

Hi Chuck. I googled the Hakarimata range and it looks beautiful. Maybe one day. No native bush for me today. 1300 meter climb to an altitude of 1550 meters and some of the best views of the southern alps/lakes district that you could ever hope to see. I suspect that by the time I get to explore NI it will be on two wheels rather than two grumpy old legs and a knee on a count down.

Well like many in his day they did all sorts of stuff that would have transgressed our current multitude of regulations.

Like many you assume that all these people being deported are like that. some are not even Kiwi’s. Yep the info is out there.
Some are not and it’s simply appalling to toss out to a foreign country someone who has lived almost all their lives in the host country. Being trained and educated by the host country and shipped to an unsuspecting destination because of a a failure of paper work.
(Kinda like having a 50 year old house without a council consent because back then it didn’t matter.)

But then you can welcome them into your home and neighborhood. I just don’t want them in mine.

And if you engaged your tiny mind to the subject you could almost understand the logic of why I don’t want them.
Then of course you may be one living here that perhaps needs to be deported to whence you came.

Three days ago Trump was the marginal favourite in the betting for the Republican nomination. He has now shortened to the firm favourite. But Hillary’s odds for November are unaffected by that surge in Trump’s popularity. She’s still the $1.95 favourite. I hope I am not boring you all with these snippets from the betting market. My warped mind finds them fascinating.

Interesting that two comments that I have made today have received downticks. One was a ositive enough comment in response to a personal message from Chuck Bird. The other was an positive observation about cricket. Then we have Nasska’s observation about mm receiving constant downticks regardlee of the comments that he makes.

Dad’s response to Nasska’s comment probably indicates the mentality of mm’s critics.
Not that it really matters a great deal, but it is interesting to contemplate the mentality of those who downtick comments such as those that I have made.
Possibilities include:
1 Said downticker thinks I am an utter plonker (and may be right).
2. Said downticker is so utterly absorbed in her/her own agenda that it is an anathema to find that others have other pleasures in life.
3. Said down ticker hates the idea of me/anyone enjoying themselves.
4. Said downticker is a petty minded vindictive troll who sits slobbering over the keyboard meraphorically sticking pins in people who have upset him/her.

I suspect number 4. Well, whoever it is, I had a truly wonderful day in the sun and enjoyed scenery unsurpassed anywhere. I am thoroughly enjoying the cricket. And you can get stuffed.

No Yoza, we are all victims of Muslim terrorism, every time we enter an airport almost anywhere in the world, where once travel was a relaxing pastime it is now an ordeal; and it is going to get worse before it gets better.

Dame Kiri Te Kanawa has revealed the abuse she suffered at the hands of school nuns as a child – but says it helped make her the tough performer she is today.

The opera star stunned a Whanganui audience with the revelation during a speaking event with opera singer and Baptist Church minister, Rodney McCann, the Whanganui Chronicle reported.

“I am as tough as I am today because from age 12, when I was at a convent school in Auckland, I was beaten by the nuns,” she told a crowd of several hundred fans.

“You have to be tough in the opera world or you are not going to make it. Just because you can sing an aria does not make you an opera singer.”

that BEATING PEOPLE IS OK?
bECUASE THAT IS HOW IT READS.
AND IMHO IT’S NEVER OK

And the law says so as well.

Now that may not be what she really wanted to say but this Lady is media savvy so a very bad look or she is going senial.

Still it tells us a lot about Nuns and the abuse they dished out and maybe still do.
