New Zealand accepted around 1100 Hungarian refugees between 1956 and 1959. Governments opened doors for Hungarian refugees. How come many doors (including Hungary’s and New Zealand’s) are almost closed to refugees today

That’s that solved then – despite their different “customs”, “laws” & “language”, those Hungarians arriving in 1956 are exactly like the Somalians, Afghans, Pakastanis, Arabs etc, according to the MSM and we have nothing to worry about…

  Correct me if I’m wrong, but based on these numbers between 1956 and 1959 NZ’s refugee quota would have been 366 pa. It’s now 1000pa (plus the others that come under the family reunification policy). So how come today we are criticised for not having “open doors” when we are taking 3 times more refugees?

    Personally, it’s not the refugees that are causing our country to become vastly transformed beyond all recognition. We would hardly notice 500 per year over even 30 years…
    
    As you allude to, thr family reunification swindle plays a big part – Ahmed Zaoui was just quickly refugee but the 18 family members he bought weren’t part of that 500 quota.
    
    Secondly, as I mentioned on yesterdays GD, over half of recent immigrants are low income Indian and Chinese migrants coming in under the guise of language training or education and then working for the hospitality industry or companies like Kathmandu where half their staff are low paid migrants seeking visa’s.

      Those people will bring with them their languages, customs and socio political systems and implant them in their new homes and in the process bring about change to their host countries. This process has begun and change albeit incremental is underway.

      I assume the outrageous lie to which you refer is Trump’s claim to have won the electoral colleges in a landslide, which I have so wittily parodied here. I too have read the articles which point out that in terms of previous Presidential elections, Trump’s “landslide” ranks 46th out of 58 electoral college results. I have no doubt that those articles were written by the CIA at the direction of the Democrats and probably with the connivance of the union organiser at Carrier, but I prefer to take them at face value so I can use their conclusions to wind up the po-faced.   Never ever happened before, of course, and there wouldn’t be any foreign interests who might have been working for Hillary this time, or working for O the last couple of times, and so on.

The new Children’s Commissioner’s ‘top of the list’ that decides that children are living in poverty is that they can’t invite other children to their birthday party. This is a typical “western” view which cant be forced on New Zealand’s multicultural society.
Samoan, Tongan and other pacific cultural practice is that birthdays are not recognised on their actual birthday but all children a celebrated on White Sunday. White Sunday is a holiday held on the second Sunday in May and October. It is a day for parents and communities to acknowledge and celebrate childhood.
Because some families do not rate birthdays does not mean they are living in poverty.
Number two on the list is not inviting friends over for a meal. Visit any Pacific Island family and you will be offered food and drink. Once again Justice Becroft is trying to force white Western United Nation values on all New Zealanders. He has left the Children’s court in a mess and he seems to want to bring his incompositence to the Childrens Commission.

  Mr. Little has earned (sorry, been paid) upwards of 2ooK per year for the last 15 years and all he has to show for it is half (with his wife) of a modest house in Island Bay with a mortgage on it.

Im a firm believer that the whole leadership change has been very carefully planned and managed, with wider knowledge (the kitchen cabinet at least) than has been confirmed. JK is too smart and way too canny to just go for something like this on a whim.

I suspect its been planned and executed to perfection. And labour have watched the process with mouths agape. The media tried to infer disarray, when everyone could see there was none; there was a well-oiled machine, which of course was what was wanted.

So my question is: Does David Little understand that whilst he is now up against a dour southlander that may not have JK’s ease of interaction, he is now facing a chess grandmaster when it comes to the next election strategy from national? How many political parties would have someone like JK, on the back bench twiddling his thumbs, and already planning the approach to next years election.

David Little, you’ve been well out thought by real politicians, who understand that sometimes you sacrifice a very important piece to win the battle. Be very afraid…

    Can you explain in your words how great the risk is as a percentage? Is it 50 – 50 or 1 in a 1000? The Solid Energy experts have not defined the risk they just say it is too high.

    Where is the evidence of high risk. This plan appears to be more costly than using re-breathing apparatus but it is extremely safe. Nothing is 100% safe. There could be a major earthquake while people are in the drift. Those of you who hate Winston should be happy to let him go in.

  It is a pity these people with time on their hands don’t put the same or more effort into following up on the collapsed of the CTV Building in 2011.
  
  115 people were killed that February day.
  The people went into a 25 year old building that was built to Code and approved by Council.
  It was not a two mile hole dug through a mountain because some greenies were worried about some insects and scrub.
  There were no need for extractor fans and plastic bags to cover gas sensors.
  
  CTV was checked after the Sept 4 and Dec 26 2010 Quake and approved as safe.
  It was not deemed a hazardous environment. On a summers day you could go in there in shorts and a T Shirt. No hard hat required. No back up breathing apparatus. No Hi-viz gear. It was a place of business where overseas students could learn and a local TV station could broadcast.
  
  The CTV building was not a work site with a seven year history as a complete cluster Fu*k as Pike River had been.
  I’ll bet $100 Bernie Monk’s son told him about safety issues in the mine -or lack thereof.
  I’ll bet another $100 that the guys in the van on the way to the worksite were talking about issues and were aware safety was not all that flash.
  RIP the 29.
  
  The families of the Pike River deceased have received close to one million dollars per person.
  The CTV families received ACC schedule rates for lost limbs and lost lives.
  27 people from Japan died and they were mostly contributing to the NZ economy.
  Some of their families only received $5000 funeral grants under ACC schedule.
  Nearly as many people (27) from Japan alone died that day vs. 29 in total from Pike River.
  Japan had its own horrendous earthquake a few weeks later.
  Their families could not sue anyone for compensation- Council, Government, Engineers, Builders, or Employers.
  That is the law in NZ.
  
  There were Chinese children who were an only child where they were in NZ to learn so they could take the skills back home and support their families.
  
  A Tale of Two Disasters.
  One gets ongoing exposure at Full Retard level.
  The other is swept under the carpet with no justice or proper answers delivered.
  
  Pike River people incl Monk can just give it a rest. ie Rest in Peace.
  CTV Building. 115 Deceased. More than 100 families were directly affected.
  Some overseas families lost their only child with their whole adult life in front of them.
  Some people live on with lost limbs and psychological harm.
  Thousands of people from NZ and around the world lost immediate relatives that February day.
  ……and they have not had answers nor has there been the political will to give answers.
  
  No-one has been held to account. Not Christchurch Council (just like leaky homes); not Alan Reay; not David Harding; not Gerald Shirtcliff/Fisher or whatever the pricks name is. A building built to code (?), signed off, checked after 2010 quakes just fell over while the others beside it did not.

During this time, all kinds of sick degenerate cultural things were promoted and accepted without resistance. Things such as feminism, homosexuality and cultural Marxism.

I got a Christmas card from Andrew Little the other day.

Now don’t get me wrong Andrew; I appreciate the sentiment, even if I am never likely to vote for you. But there’s the small matter of cost, because it carries the crest of the NZ House of Representatives. That means that I, as a taxpayer, have funded the printing of the card (including the picture of you and Mrs Little on the front, and of Harry the dog on the back), the cost of the envelope, and the postage. When the former and current PM get in touch with me, they do so by e-mail which is both better use of technology, and far more cost-efficient.

You visited our business a few years ago (you weren’t the leader then), and we exchanged business cards, as people do as a courtesy. I probably should have told you at the time I didn’t really want my details going into a database in your office, to be dragged out at Christmas-time or other times when you are wanting to communicate the old-fashioned way.

But hey; I hope you. Mrs Little, your children and pets have a blessed Christmas. You have a big year ahead of you with lots of challenges, some of which are a lot closer to you than you may think. Enjoy some family time over summer.

      So, the U.S should just say, oh well, nevermind; these things happen and not investigate? It was a complete failure in every way – the not providing enough security, despite multiple requests; the reluctant, almost non-existent response because of arms deals we weren’t supposed to know about; the blaming of the attack on an internet video and lying by Hillary to victims families that she would get to the bottom of it.

Wisconsin’s presidential election recount ended Monday with President-elect Donald Trump expanding his lead over former Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

But instead of exposing widespread fraud on Trump’s behalf, the recount found no major discrepancies and expanded Trump’s lead. After a week and a half of recounting, the final tally discovered 1,769 more votes than were counted on election night, and Trump’s lead increased by 162 votes.

To mitigate the potential exposure to risk of something going wrong Bernie Monk suggests transferring ownership and the subsequent risk of re-entering of Pike River to another Govt entity.

This does nothing as the Govt advisors still consider it too dangerous. However I have a solution.

Mr Monk needs to suggest that the risk needs to be transferred from the Govt to his company for the duration of the re-entry process. I’m sure he will have no problem with that.

  It is important that on the evidence, and reason, we credit the evolution of our culture, not the colour of our skins.
  
  Many races had their time in the sun. Europe and Britain were not particularly ahead of the game until from the 1500’s onwards.
  
  If there was something inherently superior about “whiteness” or Anglo-Saxons, why did the inhabitants of Europe and Britain spend centuries with imperial masters coming and going, and “rises” followed by “falls”? And not a lot different overall conditions to those in China or Persia or some noted African or Indian kingdoms.
  
  There is a really important cultural evolutionary pathway running through Christianity, the Reformation, and the Enlightenment. Without this, the human trajectory was one of endless repetition of the Greek Empire, the Roman Empire, the Ming Dynasty, the Ottoman Empire, etc etc. Some impressive achievements, but nothing capable of producing “the modern age” as we know it.
  
  What if Christianity (in a predominant sense) had headed in some direction other than Europe, from Palestine, and some other continent had had the Reformation and the Enlightenment?
  
  Some of “our ancestors”, the Angles and Saxons, were primitive tribes with sacred trees, and early missionaries like St Boniface taught them that trees could be cut down and put to use without any spirits or gods being offended. Their whiteness hadn’t made them good material for economic development previously, had it? Mind you, many modern Greenies are white, too, and they are stupid enough to think a great leap backwards into nature-worshipping paganism would be costless in terms of the state of humanity. Most black or yellow people in the world today would be ahead of them on this.

I couldn’t care less if “western civilisation” is populated by a racially diverse melting-pot as long as its culture is still recognisable as such. Storm in a C-cup? Bare breast billboard causes a stir in Bulls

An ad for Tom Ford perfume on Bull’s main street showing bare breasts appeared in the town recently.

Bulls resident Helen Cooper said she spoke to Mr Adams outside his shop on Saturday morning and he said the sign would be down by Monday. “I pointed out it was right behind the bull sculpture and lots of people stopped to take photos. People would take photos of their kids on the bull and there would be the billboard in the background.”

She said he had agreed it was in the wrong place and would take it down by Monday.

Does anyone have suggestions for an alternative billboard?

The only way that ISIS could assemble 5,000 fully equipped and heavily armed fighters and then launch a coordinated and skillfully executed series of attacks in order to retake palmyra is if they had the full support of the Turkish military. ISIS itself lacks the logistics and supply capability, neither does it possess the integrated and organised command , control and communications infrastructure needed to carry out this offensive.

A bunch of mercenary headchoppers skilled only in terrorising defenceless civilian populations does not plan and carry out a successful large scale military operation of this nature, such a task has to be carried out by a well-trained, skillfully commanded and carefully co-ordinated military machine that enjoys comprehensive logistical support.

Therefore it is safe to assume that the planning, organisation, transport, logistics, command and control of this operation was the work of the Turks; furthermore, it is likely that some of the ISIS fighters were actually Turkish military in Jihadi disguises.

RT and other sources are reporting that the majority of the ISIS fighters were transferred to Palmyra from Mosul in Iraq; if this is accurate, then it provides clear proof that Turkey is indeed deeply involved as the only way to move large numbers of men and their equipment from Mosul to Eastern Syria is via Turkey. RT also noted that the US-lead coalition appears to have done very little, if anything, to stop these fighters leaving Mosul – the convoys would no doubt have made very vulnerable targets for air strikes.

We know that Erdogan is not at all happy that the Assad government’s forces in conjunction with their Russian, Iranian and Lebanese allies is finally winning the war in Northern Syria, least of all the re-conquest of Aleppo which now appears to be approaching completion. Therefore we have been expecting the Turks to attempt to intervene in order to turn the tide back in favour of the ‘rebels’. The government successes in the battle for Aleppo have had us wondering just what Turkey would and could do to affect that battle.

With the fall of Palmyra to a Turkish backed ISIS, we have part of the answer; there may be further ISIS offensives in Eastern Syria in an attempt to draw crucial government and allied forces away from Aleppo. these too will be the work of the Turks.

It remains to be seen what Russia will make of the fall of Palmyra and Turkish efforts to influence the Syrian war; perhaps we are drawing close to the moment when the Kremlin reaches the conclusion that the only way to win the Syrian war is to knock away the Turkish props supporting the enemy. Furthermore, will the Kremlin eventually decide that politics alone cannot curtail Erdogan and Turkey’s ambitions and conclude that only military force can rein Erdogan in…

  The FBI briefing to the House committee did not confirm what the CIA briefing to the Senate committee said and various FBI personnel have been publicly disagreeing with them. Not to mention some other measures its been taking.
  
  Three hours after the WH announced it was launching an investigation WaPo published an article alleging Russia hacked the election. WaPo is owned by Bezos who bought it 3 months after the CIA gave him a $600m contract. It and the NYT are Obama/Clinton/Bush and CIA mouthpieces. Think WMD.

        What we see here is a difference of degrees of describing certainty.
        The FBI require absolute proof of something before they will say it happened. There isn’t absolute proof that Russia hacked anybody.
        Whereas the CIA trade in saying how likely it is something happened.
        They say it is likely the Russians were involved based on the CIAs knowledge of previous events.
        Personally I think the Russians just like fucking with the Americans, especially Hillary and Obama because of the sanctions.
        That’s a bit different than making the leap to say they wanted and intended to help elect Trump.

So this is why there was an orange glow to the air today: Firefighters trying to protect homes from large bushfire north of Sydney. I learned to recognise the glow as a sign of fire somewhere when we lived in Sydney and large fires around Christmas were common. It’s amazing the ash travels this far over to the Kapiti Coast.

‘The overseers of the U.S. intelligence community have not embraced a CIA assessment that Russian cyber attacks were aimed at helping Republican President-elect Donald Trump win the 2016 election, three American officials said on Monday.

While the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) does not dispute the CIA’s analysis of Russian hacking operations, it has not endorsed their assessment because of a lack of conclusive evidence that Moscow intended to boost Trump over Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton, said the officials, who declined to be named.

The position of the ODNI, which oversees the 17 agency-strong U.S. intelligence community, could give Trump fresh ammunition to dispute the CIA assessment, which he rejected as “ridiculous” in weekend remarks, and press his assertion that no evidence implicates Russia in the cyber attacks.’
