WO is slowly creeping to pay per view. A section on his posts is password protected so that only the selected few can view.
However the failing newspapers editorial after ranting and ranging about imigration all year has realised at last its benifits

Bring lots of third world people into developed countries and you just change those developed countries into the third world.

      Not nearly as many as in years past.
      
      According to friends in Hawaii (the Japanese traditional tourist destination) they are starting to see the gradual phasing out of Japanese signage and its replacement with Chinese.
      
      Many Japanese love the Auckland climate and the slower pace of life here (although prices are high). Plus Kiwis drive on the same side of the road.

    Speaking of which – I always leave Politics out of extended family discussions as it stirs too many emotions but yesterday I had to step in when a family member started lecturing us about how we need to “help refugees”.
    
    I countered and said that now that the war in Syria is nearly over with the fall of Aleppo back into Government hands after they defeated ~~Jihadi Fanatics~~ “the rebels”, we should in fact be able to send them back. She said that no – they would have to go back to face poverty. Just like all those African Refugees crossing the Mediterranean and overrunning Paris & Calais caused them to flee their peaceful countries.
    
    I pointed out to here that hers (and the entire MSMs definition of “refugee” is now someone who wants to live somewhere else.
    
    I then said that with such a defintion that if we keep taking them in and soon enough we’ll all be “refugees” except with nowhere to flee to.

Even when migrants do have qualifications, they often don’t meet the standards of Germany’s rigorous three-year apprenticeship system.
      At the most basic level, migrants must learn German to become employable—and yet 98 percent of asylum-seekers don’t speak German. The government has doubled its budget for language instruction to 559 million euros, which will pay for 300,000 refugees to take a 660-hour course in basic German. Immigration used to have the benefits that are being claimed for it now, but the pre-conditions for this success do not exist now.

We are multi-culti cringers now, and some categories of immigrants know how to use this like a weapon against us.

We do not do infrastructure and urban growth like we used to, particularly the funding of it. Immigrants now, through no fault of their own, are a pressure on the urban land price bubble that will eventually destroy the real economy. There are two mechanisms for this: cycle-end crashes; and high costs imposed on the real economy all the rest of the time.

      They are not “conservative” in the same sense as western conservatives. “Fundamentalists” would be a better word.
      
      The Left and its cultural “long march through the institutions” is quite happy to ally with fundamentalists of exotic cultures as a WMD (one among many) in their ongoing war against western conservatism. This requires contortions of moral hypocrisy equivalent to hiding behind a corkscrew.
      
      And I am reminded of the fable of “The King, the Mice and the Cheese” – it may well be that the cats (fundamentalist immigrants) they brought in to help get rid of the mice (western conservatives), will present a worse problem to them and their agenda in the long run. For example, “liberated” western women in some parts of Europe might not mind a bit of old-fashioned conservative “patriarchy” back in place of what they now have – neighbourhood-level Sharia Law which is actually just as illegal as extrajudicial enforcement by organised crime, but to which the establishment turns a blind eye in the name of “multiculturalism”.

    They are not so much forced ON “white” countries, as home-grown within “white” countries, by Quisling European “progressives” and their seminaries, the Universities.
    
    I actually don’t care about skin colour, I care about culture. If Western civilisation is still recognisable as western civilisation in 1000 years and everyone in it is multi-racial by means of racial harmony and inter-marriage, that is fine by me. Among the ranks of our best culture warriors today, are plenty of people of colour. In a way, the ones who choose to stand with western civilisation because the choice between that and their indigenous culture was such a stark one, are far clearer than most people with white skins.
    
    Compare, say, Thomas Sowell with the entire National caucus in NZ. Let alone the Labour one or the Green one. I rest my case.

Christmas Pasts Regrets

My big regret is that my kids never had Xmas with my dad.

Who to spend Xmas with? Hubby’s family or My family….. and which side of Hubby’s separated parents?

Well, the question always got solved in favour of the father-in-law & step-M-in-law.
At the time, it seemed the easiest solution…. my dad wouldn’t be put out, the mother-in-law was usually out of the country, and the step mother-in-law wouldn’t have any reason to get upset….

But now I wish I had said No to the step M-in-law a couple of times and taken my brood off to my father’s place….. There wouldn’t have been any fancy food or presents or anything, but just his pleasure in seeing us.

About three week ago I posted a comment from MattyH, who had posted on the stuff website about solar panels taking the suns rays and depleting the suns energy. I always had my suspicions about who it was.
Well believe it or not, I was having Xmas dinner yesterday and a certain member of Mrs Holys extended family ( not mine you understand ) turned up. I said hello MattyH. His response confirmed my suspisions as correct.

His drug addled brain said it all. Once a dropkick always a dropkick.

Sitting having breakfast at McDonald’s and Al Jazeera is on, lead story the UN vote against Israel. Al Jazeera is of course totally anti Israel and therefore supports the UN line.

But why do we have to be on the same page as Al Jazeera and against Israel? The UN resolution forbids Israel to build settlements in the old city the eastern part of Jerusalem.

Israel will never accept the eastern part of Jerusalem is “occupied”, nor will they ever accept that their people have no right to live there.

NZ was crazy to support this initiative which came from Obama who is leaving office in 3 short weeks and will be replaced by Trump who will be president for the next 4 years and has a totally different line on this.

We have alienated Israel, we have bolstered a guy who has 3 weeks to go and we are putting ourselves offside with the guy who is going to be POTUS for the the next 4 years at least.
Is this the dumbest foreign policy thing we could possibly do or what?

        No, I support Kissingerian realism. It is pointless trying to change the political and humanitarian conditions in countries where the people cannot be enlightened from the grip of a medieval fundamentalist culture. It is also realistic to accept that these states will need to made to at least respect, if not fear, the liberal democracies that they routinely refer to as “Satan”; by means of superior military hardware.
        
        Israel is like the nation in the front line, while NZ has the luxury of being too small and too far away to have to confront inconvenient realities. There is nothing “illegal” at all about maintaining buffer zones of territory between yourself and those who have never forsworn their stated desire to destroy you; which territory was in the first case taken off nation-states that still exist, and have not negotiated to “get it back”, notwithstanding peace agreements. But neither have they taken in their fellow-Arab-Muslim “refugees” displaced from a few dozen square kms of land.
        
        Israel is right to regard itself as being “sought occasion against” and hypocritically held to unique standards.         Realpolitik does not mean that we back Israel to the hilt, with an attitude “she can do no wrong..and even if she does, we look the other way or rationalise it because it keeps the wogs in check”. Instead, while we do what we can to affirm and assert Israel’s right of self-existence and defense…we also do what we can for the protagonists to make peace. No one else but they can do it. But outsiders failing to take an honest and just approach to both parties can only make it worse.
        
        As per my post in this same thread about Richard Nixon’s advice to Golda Meir after the Yom Kippur War, it was Nixon and Kissinger’s diplomacy and advice – you can’t win it all and it is counter-productive to try – that assisted both Israel and Egypt, after 30 years of hostility and three wars to come to a lasting peace agreement some five years later. And Israel did not have to compromise her security, nor refuse to yield conquered and occupied land (the Sinai) to gain it. Maybe, maybe, one day the same will be possible with Palestine and the West Bank. And our government is right to do what it can to keep open that possibility.

“Jump to the Left” by National on Israel

Only a few days in and we’re seeing how Bill English managed to secure National’s 2002 most humiliating election result in recent times. His judgment in proposing the anti-Israel resolution in the UN is stupifyingly stupid.

I know, I know it will have been in the pipeline for a while and his predecessor would’ve agreed upon it with his Kenyan golfing buddy over Hawaiian pizza some time back – but the whole point of being leader is you make difficult decisions to do the right thing regardless. And this is a stunningly bad move – when you start looking like Russel Norman as a National PM it’s time to recognise you’ve lost your direction and it’s time to go.

I cannot for one second think that Judith Collins would have allowed this if she’d won the National leadership.

I’m having a real hard time differentiating National PC political positions from the Greens at the moment.

We’ve got the US moving firmly to the right and no ‘special Hawaii golfing relationship’ to draw upon – do we really want to move so far away from the US. And what kind of a fruit loop thinks it shows good judgment to align with Senegal and Venezuala FFS!

Seriously, is that how National views NZ’s place in the world? As contemporaries of a basket case broke banana republic and a small equatorial Islamic state that most people can’t pinpoint on the map?

If we’re going to have to have an evil socialist government under Bill English then I don’t see any harm in voting for the evil socialists with a red rose emblem – just to have a change and to remind National that it really is wrong to act like the US Democrat party and take your constituents for granted.

As I watch One News pontificate on the wonderfullness of mindless consumerism as NZ shops itself silly on Boxing Day as a nation waits to tally up the EFTPOS reciepts to see if NZ hit a record high shopping day, here are some good reflections on the hollowness of “modern Christmas” from the folks at The Right Stuff:

But there exists an undeniable void in the spiritual life of the contemporary American, and what Christmas has become is a symptom of that inner sickness.

I say that because this holiday that is intended to bring families together and make them stronger only makes me sad. It makes me sad because the family itself has been mortally wounded by liberalism and cultural Marxism. It makes me sad because we Americans have become so atomized and so alienated. It makes me sad because I look at the children, and I wonder what their lives will be like under this junk culture that has been foisted upon us, this hollow consumerism, this Mammon worship.

American’s have become so Satanically individualistic that many of us are refusing to even rear families—even when locked in heterosexual matrimony! Indeed, countless White American couples will be attending family Christmas parties tonight merely to laugh at the siblings or cousins of theirs with children, believing them idiots for being duped into having those kids. Sure, they’ll pat their nieces or nephews on the head for five or ten minutes but then go back to their adolescent escape-artist world of booze, marijuana, and smartphone Facebook.

And what of these few children that some of us still insist on having this holiday season? They will lay on the floor, over-stimulated and unsure over which one out of the twenty-seven new and over-sized plastic toys in front of them to play with the wrong way first. Doubtless, we adults will have also turned on the latest mass produced Disney Junior holiday special (with a moral about sharing, or something, of course) for them on the giant flat screen so that we adults can sip an extra Mimosa undisturbed while we gossip and wisecrack—no real substantive conversation here because we all know that you never talk religion or politics at a party, folks (heavens no, you’d might have to disagree with someone if you did that).

We tell ourselves that we are making warm memories for these children, and I’m sure that we are. Unfortunately, those warm memories will be of Frosty the Snowman saying “Happy Birthday,” or of some gay little elf wanting to pull teeth instead of make toys. Yes, we spent all year chasing the almighty dollar, and during the holidays—instead of giving them real family memories and making sure they imbibe a firm basis in tradition—we spoil them with toys from China. Now, we only have to sit back and wait to see which of the girls will grow up to have mixed-race babies with a string of deadbeat baby daddies. Or which of the boys will grow up to be a pothead video game addict who hopes to dwell in the basement well into his thirties. Or, worse yet, which of the girls and/or boys will come home from school one day at the age of fifteen demanding that he or she or it or whatever be referred to by pronouns of the opposite gender and that you take them to see a psychologist so that they can be prescribed hormone therapy treatment.

  You over complicate things EAD. If you are, quite rightly, concerned about white Westerners not being prepared to breed you don’t need to cloud the crystal ball with the normal, hackneyed concerns of the Godaddled.
  
  Rather the reason is simple……money. We tend to sneer at provincial NZ (or the USA) of the 50s & 60s but they were places where average, middle class people had families……often quite large families. They did this because they could afford to as there were many comparatively well paying positions in banks, loan & merc firms even freezing works. Each town had its accountant, lawyer, doctors & maybe even a hospital.
  
  The brave new world has finished that. No one is to blame but the breeding couples are now involved in a rat race in Auckland or Wellington where two good salaries are the minimum needed to even buy a house & start a family. Provincial NZ is stuffed.
  
  Forget your preachy morals…..the drivers of the problem are money & housing.

    I know what this is and have explained many times, but when I explain it, normally most people boo heavily, which is a shame, in the same way it was a shame at one point apparently humanity completely missed a planning consent application for the destruction of our planet, simply because we, apparently, couldn’t be bothered flying to Ursa Minor a mere twelve light years away and objecting. That was a doco I recall seeing years ago, hitchhiker something.

      I was 21 & Mrs Nasska had just turned 18 when we were married Reid. We married because she was with child & her mother, who was a lovely soul, wanted us to. By good fortune we had found a small cottage we were going to purchase anyway but we were banking on having two pay packets to pay two mortgages. To compound the problem No 2 daughter arrived on the scene eleven months after the first. This was 1970/71.
      
      We scraped through with me taking every bit of overtime as a driver & doing another fifteen hours a week at a local pub as a barman &
      bouncer. This went on for five years until the wife could go back to work part time.
      
      I mention this only so you’ll know that I’ve been there & done that. Home ownership & a family was nearly impossible on one person’s earnings then & it’s worse now.
      
      If the country wants to increase its birth rate then it must make home ownership possible. Responsible people don’t breed if they can see no viable way to house their brood.

        A definitive reply, if I was certain I had one, would be beyond the scope of a blog comment Reid.
        
        But in short I reckon that if a particular outcome is considered desirable then the powers that be should incentivcise it. eg $ for $ subsidies for saving home deposits then tax breaks if a home is retained for 20 years.
        
        I know such things challenge current ideologies but without them I see no way forward.

      Reid: read Steve Sailer: “The Dirt Gap” and follow-up works.
      
      In “The Dirt Gap”, he outlined some very pointed statistics about the differences between States in the USA; listing the States in order of house price inflation from 1980 to 2004, and fertility rates among white women; in the 2004 elections, sitting President George W. Bush, won all of the first 26 States with the lowest inflation in house prices and the all of the first 19 States with the highest fertility rates. The statistical significance of this is enormous.
      
      He has written more since that essay, pointing out how the thesis still holds up. Eg “The Dirt Gap Validated”, and “Affordable Family Formation the Neglected Key to the GOP’s Future”
      
      It would seem that if you want higher birth rates (eg for reasons of fiscal or civilisational sustainability), one thing you have to do is ensure that urban planning policy does not make housing unaffordable to the cohort most likely to procreate: conservatives.

  Yeah well this is materialism EAD. The Bible, the world’s best guide on spiritual matters, calls out materialism as being of “the flesh.” All vice, all sin, is encompassed in these – lust, pride, envy, wrath, avarice, sloth, gluttony.
  
  We are actually eternal beings having a temporary physical experience called the human adventure. It’s not the other way round, we’re not physical beings with a spiritual component which is what most people think. No. We are like the controlling alien inside the robot in MIB. Our bodies are brilliantly designed self-healing masterpieces of engineering with one purpose, allowing our spiritual selves to interact with the physical world and most importantly, this means also receiving feedback from it as well as operating in it.
  
  Thus material things indeed all things in that list of seven are mere trinkets by comparison, yet because most operate under that central delusion, that we are physical beings with a spiritual component, most lives are spent in wasted pursuit of the higher, because it hankers in us all, but wasted because we spend most of our time thinking about and doing the various things in that list.
