  I support a referendum on the continuation of separate racist Maori seats. It is unfortunate that some who also do go to ridiculous extreme claiming that there is a government conspiracy that resulted in the wrongful conviction in a jury trial of Allan Titford. Who do they think was involved – John Key, Judith Collins or Chris Findlayson?

  Why do we even bring refugees from Somalia here?
  
  It would be far better for these people to remain in Africa than have the massive upheaval of moving to a different part of the world with different culture/weather/languages/etc.
  
  It would also be far better use of our humanitarian dollars: for every person you could help here you could help at least 10 people in Kenya. They’d also be in a far better position to go back home when the conflicts are over.

    FWIW: From memory, bringg Somalis into NZ was a trade off done in exchange for Helun Klark gaining a high post in the UN. No other western country wanted anything to do with them (which was perfectly understandable as they are not exactly ‘nice’), so Helun ‘Did the decent thing’ in the name of all NZ-ers and imported them. it was only a lot later that we found-out that they had been used to gain klark her current post; that and approximately USD14 Million (actually more I believe), to ‘grease the wheels’ as it were…
    
    As predicted, ‘trouble’ was also imported at the same time; this ‘nutcase’ is but one of the more obvious examples.

THE first reprint of Adolf Hitler’s “Mein Kampf” in Germany since World War II has proved a surprise bestseller, heading for its sixth print run, its publisher said Tuesday.
The Institute of Contemporary History of Munich (IfZ) said around 85,000 copies of the new annotated version of the Nazi leader’s anti-Semitic manifesto had flown off the shelves since its release last January.
However the respected institute said that far from promoting far-right ideology, the publication had enriched a debate on the renewed rise of “authoritarian political views” in contemporary Western society.

When extreme views at one end of the political spectrum are forced upon a country then one shouldn’t be surprised if an equally strong response doesn’t manifest itself from those on the other extreme.         Here’s some more English advice which might be helpful.
        
        1. Because ‘neck’ is a singular count noun, write ‘this neck of the woods’. (Yes, the word ‘woods’ is plural, but you are specifying one part of the woods.)
        2. It is not standard practice to put a space in front of a comma or other punctuation marking the end of a clause or sentence.
        3. This is a little pedantic for blog postings, but the eight words following ‘common’ would be preceded in speech by a slight pause; this is indicated by a comma to emphasize that you are now qualifying the initial statement.
        
        Punctuation is treated by some as an optional extra, but there are two posters on KB – stephieboy isn’t one of them – whom I refuse to read because random punctuation, confused sentence structure and non-paragraphing consistently make their meaning unclear on the first reading.

WELL is this ever an exercise in self promotion / sensationalism , I was most interested to read the words on her scoop post

“The targeting of Ms Dawson led to serious threats against and endangerment of her life and those of her children.”

suddenly I connected the two and indeed in early 2013 I had had dealings with one and the same Ms Dawson when she published defamatory and blatantly incorrect material about me and I simply asked her to remove it from her blog and when I was ignored served a notice on her as required by the act.

I had phoned her as first point of contact and her daughter had answered the phone, I asked for Suzie Dawson and when she got on the phone she hurled a barrage of abuse at me and a claim that I was stalking her.

Eventually she did remove the material from her post but it wold appear that she also made a false complaint that I was stalking her.

Knowing what I know about Suzie Dawson and having interacted with her, I do hope that she gets asylum in Russia and may her stay be a lengthy one.

I personally would not believe a thing she says as to me, on the evidence I have, I can conclude that she is prone to gross exaggeration and paranoia .

She calls herself a journalist but she is not one.

If she is one of the 88 new Zealanders the government is looking at then the government is wasting tax payers funds, it is my opinion that she does nothing more than regurgitates information which she finds on the web and publishes as her own.

        The funny thing is that there is actually a good case for more information to be made available about what has been purchased with ratepayers’ funds. As a non-ratepayer, you have very little standing to demand this though.

As I understand it, here, even if an individual expresses a wish to be a donor, it can be overridden, and often is, by relatives. There is a terrible shortage of organs and many would benefit from the French approach of what is essentially presumed consent in the wider interest of society.

The fascist nature of the Zionist enterprise was apparent both to US and British intelligence. The Jewish Agency tolerated no dissent and sought to dictate the fates of all Jews. Children were radicalised as part of the methodology of all three major organizations, and by extension, the Jewish Agency.

Britain’s wake-up call regarding the Zionists’ indoctrination of children came on the 8th of July, 1938. That day, the Irgun blew up a bus filled with Palestinian villagers. Now, this was not the first time the Irgun had done something of this sort, but this time the British caught the bomber. She was a twelve year old schoolgirl.

Teenagers, both boys and girls, were commonly used to plant bombs in Palestinian markets and conduct other terror attacks. Teachers were threatened or removed if they tried to intervene in the indoctrination of their students, and the students themselves were blocked from advancement if they resisted, even being taught to betray their own parents if those parents tried to instill some moderation. Jews who opposed and tried to warn of the emerging fascism were assassinated, and indeed most victims of Zionist assassinations—that is, targeted, rather than indiscriminate—were Jews.

From the beginning of World War II through to the summer of 1947, there were virtually no Palestinian attacks, even though Zionist terror against Palestinians continued. A British explanation for the Palestinians’ failure to respond in kind was that they understood that the attacks were a trap, intended to elicit a response that the Zionists would frame as an attack against which they would have to ‘defend’ themselves. This was a Zionist tactic noted by the British as early as 1918, and it remains Israel’s default strategy today, most blatantly in Gaza, but also in East Jerusalem and the West Bank.

As late as the fall of 1947, the Jewish Agency was concerned by the Palestinians’ failure to respond to its provocation, but when the end of 1947 came and the Jewish Agency could wait no longer for the civil war it needed, it was simply a matter of ratcheting up the terror.

Throughout the Mandate period, the takeover and ethnic cleansing of Palestine remained Zionism’s unwavering goal. As but one illustration, I will summarize a key meeting of twenty people held in London on the 9th of September, 1941.

“To be treated as most secret” is the red ink heading of the transcript. Present were Weizmann, who had called the meeting, David Ben-Gurion, and other Zionist leaders such as Simon Marks (of Marks & Spencer); and the prominent non-Zionist industrialist, Robert Waley Cohen. Discussing the path to the proposed Jewish State, the conversation ran along the lines of George Orwell’s still-to-be-published Animal Farm, in which all animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.

Anthony de Rothschild began by stressing that there would be no “discrimination … against any group of its citizens” in the Jewish state, not even “to meet immediate needs”. Weizmann and Ben-Gurion also assured the sceptics: “Arabs”—Palestinians—would have equal rights. However, they clarified that within that absolute equality, Jewish settlers would have to have special privileges. Weizmann’s ‘absolute equality’ included the transfer of most non-Jews out of Palestine while permitting “a certain percentage of Arab and other elements” to remain in his Jewish state, the insinuation being as a pool of cheap labour.

Anthony de Rothschild’s vision of equality and non-discrimination was equally compelling: it “depended on turning an Arab majority into a minority”, and to achieve this, there would be “no equal rights” for non-Jews.

Cohen found the scheme dangerous, submitting that the Zionists were “starting with the kind of aims with which Hitler had started”. Cohen did not stop there: he suggested that if a state with equality for everyone were indeed intended, the state should be named with a neutral geographic term. He suggested … ‘Palestine’. The others were horrified at this idea, arguing that if the state had a non-Jewish name, “they would never get a Jewish majority”, in effect acknowledging the use of messianic fundamentalism as a calculated political strategy.

In another obvious but rarely spoken admission, Ben-Gurion clarified that the ‘Jewish state’ was not based on Judaism; it was, rather, based on being a ‘Jew’, that is, by the Zionists’ racial definition.

Asked about borders of his settler state, Weizmann continued in the same surreal manner. He replied that he would consider the partition plan proposed by the Peel Commission four years earlier, in 1937, but that “the line” (the Partition) “would be the Jordan”. This was nonsensical: the Jordan was the Commission’s eastern border for the two states, and so Weizmann’s ‘partition’ meant 100% for his state, 0% for the Palestinians. He went further still: he would “very much” like to “cross the Jordan”, that is, take Transjordan along with Palestine.

At the end of the meeting Weizmann sought to put his proposals into effect officially in the name of all Jews worldwide. Those against his proposals were, in his word, “antisemites”.

I went to Sylvia Park today. I hadn’t been there for quite a while, it seems, and I was sad to see that the big Whitcoulls (formerly Borders) is there no more and the site has been taken over by fashion chain H&M.

Whitcoulls still has a presence, albeit in a way smaller store near The Warehouse. It’s no wonder people are buying their books online when the brick and mortar stores are downsizing and offering less product.

  Furthermore the bookshops are expensive in NZ.
  Personally I use the local library where everything is available, if you are prepared to wait.

  Pretty hard for the bricks and mortar stores to complete with big online retailers like Amazon and the Book Depository, Fletch.
  
  They benefit from power of bulk buying, fewer warehouses, fewer staff per sales dollar, and no mall landlords taking a percentage of revenue.
  
  In a small remote country like NZ, traditional book publishers have the additional cost of local branches or agencies, with their own warehousing.
  
  I like browsing in book stores, but for cheap, efficient distribution they are at a disadvantage.
  
  Here’s hoping book shops can survive. Maybe they will, by coming up with, while there’s still time, one-off printing machines. You would browse sample copies in a store, and, when you bought, out of the machine would pop a fine, printed, bound copy, complete with the paper-and-ink smell that we enjoy.

MCos, there are a couple of excellent book shops surviving out there in Auckland . Notably Time Out in Mt Eden , Womens bookshop in Ponsoby and Unity Books City .

Worth a visit . Your right about Libraries though and the Auckland one has an expanding digital collection .

How George Soros Destroyed The Democratic Party

The Democrats decided to sell their base and their soul to a very bad billionaire and they got a very bad deal for both.

It was 2004. The poncho was the hottest fashion trend, there were 5 million new cases of AIDS and a former Nazi collaborator had bought the Democrat Party using the spare change in his sofa cushions.

And gone to war against the will of the people. This was what he modestly called his own “Soros Doctrine”.

“It is the central focus of my life,” George Soros declared. It was “a matter of life and death.” He vowed that he would become poor if it meant defeating the President of the United States.

Instead of going to the poorhouse, he threw in at least $15 million, all the spare change in the billionaire’s sofa cushions, dedicated to beating President Bush.

In his best lisping James Bond villain accent, Soros strode into the National Press Club and declared that he had “an important message to deliver to the American Public before the election” that was contained in a pamphlet and a book that he waved in front of the camera. Despite his “I expect you to die, Mr. Bond” voice, the international villain’s delivery was underwhelming. He couldn’t have sold brownies to potheads at four in the morning. He couldn’t even sell Bush-bashing to a roomful of left-wing reporters.

But he could certainly fund those who would. And that’s exactly what he did.

Money poured into the fringe organizations of the left like MoveOn, which had moved on from a petition site to a PAC. In 2004, Soros was its biggest donor. He didn’t manage to bring down Bush, but he helped buy the Democratic Party as a toy for his yowling dorm room of left-wing activists to play with.

Soros hasn’t had a great track record at buying presidential elections. The official $25 million he poured into this one bought him his worst defeat since 2004. But his money did transform the Democrat Party.

And killed it…

You know what’s terrifically amusing about all of this. It’s that idiots like mm and stephie, lefties forever, haven’t even realised that their beloved side in the US is totally and utterly controlled 100% by one of the biggest bastard 0.1%er’s on Earth. And if they do know, they clearly don’t care that their beloved vehicle is being driven into the ground like a plane that just had its wings fall off.

      they have memorials dedicated to Beersheba.
      
      All I am saying is if the New Zealanders had not cleared the Machine gunners in that area it would have been a flop. It would not have happened. That is a fact and if anyone wants to dispute it I am happy to re enact it will live rounds if need be.
      
      Beersheba was a major if they had run out of Water end of campaign, sure there were other battles but this in particular was make or break.
      
      Significant because it was one of the last Successful cavalry charges in History.
      
      The Aussies make a big deal out of it as they should, but I am just highlighting that there was crucial NZ involvement. They did a movie released a stamp – we rest assured no mention of NZ would
      have gone into that movie.
