Who killed Ethan?

Monday, December 22nd, 2008 at 7:47 am

Yes, it is one of those horrible mind numbing Shortland Street threads. Block your eyes, those who get offended I watch a TV soap.

Over at Throng, I have suggested that Brooke is the likely killer of Ethan. My reasons are:

  1. She loves him and we all know love can turn to hate
  2. His final humiliation of rejecting her, could push her over the edge
  3. Few characters would have a gun, so it was probably Ethan’s gun and Brooke is likely to know he had one
  4. Her character won’t be missed when convicted and sent to jail
  5. Ethan did not look worried when he saw the killer, which would make sense if it was her

Of course there are other suspects, namely:

  1. Alice
  2. Maia
  3. Chris
  4. Callum
  5. Libby
  6. Keiran

A nice little who-dun-it for season end. Of course not as good as the classic Dallas Who shot JR plot which had half the world guessing!

Just Deserts

Yes I have weaknesses, and Shortland Street is one of them. Hey when working at 11 pm doing poll analysis, you need something on in the background!

So anyway, for those who do watch it. Wasn’t it great seeing Callum get his just desserts yesterday. The actor does a great job makes the character so loathsome.

Shortland Street via Internet

Thursday, May 8th, 2008 at 2:27 pm

Just had TVNZ do a presentation on the cost of bandwidth in NZ. He asked everyone to guess how much it would cost to deliver Shortland Street every night over the Internet to its 500,000 viewers.

The cost is over the break. No one got it right.

Dead Joey

Well the Shortland Street serial killer plotline is now dead with Joey.

Stuff reviews the end of the plotline.

I have to say that overall the producers did a pretty good job with it.  Viewer numbers went up, people started to talk about it more, and they didn’t ham it up too much.  I’m only an occassional viewer via My Sky but in the last few weeks have been watching regularly to see how it gets resolved.
