Tony Milne on conspiracy teaching

Tony Milne attacks me for criticising Kirsty Gillon for her teaching of whackjob conspiracy theories, on the basis that she has a positive rating on ratemyteacher.com.

Now just think about this logic. It doesn’t matter that she may be teaching falsehoods, promoting anti-semitic lies, suggesting the US Government mass murdered its own citizens on Sept 11, so long as she has a good rating on ratemyteacher.com.

Never mind that her teaching was condemned by the Dean of Education at Auckland University and the New Zealand History Teachers Association. Hey what would they know – she has a good ratemyteacher.com rating. I mean that is scientific and valid and objective isn’t it.

But on the positive side we should look forward to Tony becoming Minister of Education one day. Because Labour have always argued against performance pay for teachers – arguing that there is no objective way to assess teacher performance. Well that is no longer the case, as we will expect Tony to campaign on paying teachers bonuses based on their ratemyteacher.com rating.
