Here’s a Telegraph puff piece, one that leaves a lingering, squiffy odour : Covid could be spread through flatulence

The official advice is to open a window to increase ventilation and slow the spread of Covid, but now there could be an added incentive – the virus may also be spread by flatulence. Ministers have privately pointed to evidence that Covid could be spread by people breaking wind in confined spaces such as lavatories. One said they had read “credible-looking stuff on it” from other countries, although government scientists are yet to produce a paper on the matter.

I can assert two things: –
(a) If there is a positive correlation between flatulence and health, then mrs kk is extremely healthy; and,
(b) If mrs kk reads this I will shortly become extremely unhealthy

Good to se Ardern get a grilling from Ryan Bridge this morning over the Funding of the Mongrel Mob meth programme. She got really pissed, and reverted to talking points that National under John Key ran a similar programme – Big difference was that programme was run by the Salvation Army and had checks & balances in it to measure actual success and Labour canned it.
The outcome was, all those entities that supported the Mongrel Mob programme did the due diligence so not her fault. This based on a 7-week trial, and we don’t know the actual number of attendees, and how they are post the trail – The whole saga is a cluster X#&^ for the government, so expect their MSM lap-dogs start a major deflection campaign this week.

  On Friday, Michael Wood danced on the head of a pin to justify the corrupt money laundering to the mob.

  When he mentioned that he just learned it was her birthday and wished her HB, she said, in a very snarky tone: “And what a delight it is to get to spend some of it with you”
  
  Before I could shout at the TV “YOU’RE THE FUCKING PRIME MINISTER, YOU DON’T GET THE DAY OFF ON YOUR BIRTHDAY!!!” Bridge got in a much better shot, saying:

More than20 serious threats and incidents mostly involving social media posts over the use of 1080 poison to protect our native wildlife- have been recorded this year alone.
Among more than 260 others logged in the last two and a half years were menacing messages about bombing vehicles, blocking roads, burning buildings, poisoning water supplies and targeting staff, contractors and ministors with violence.
Figures released to the Herald under the Official Information Act showed 164 incidents were recorded in 2020 double that of the year before.

Turns out they were so heavily infiltrated by the Feds they could have been an off shoot of the Dept of Justice and prior to the infiltration they were just a bunch of relatively tame pussy cats .

    Thanks. That’s actually where the story came from. Did you actually read that article? It’s really dodgy what the FBI did. The FBI was actively involved in recruitment for one.
    
    Even Buzzfeed admits it was probably entrapment.

Looks like Scomo received the memo on the declining efficacy of the vaccine.

What he says is factually correct but it is not going to encourage people to get the vaccine. It also contrasts with the Premier of NSW who is begging for more vaccines. No wonder Jacinda seems confused.

  Public opinion in Australia is changing (as opposed to little Aotearoa) regarding the Kungflu. It appears based off the little information being presented morbidity amongst vaccinated has reduced to levels even the MSM can’t fear monger about.
  
  As more information comes out demonstrating the success of the vaccines in stopping serious health outcomes watch for more scare and fear articles coming out of the MSM supporting the “crappadeltoidsigmal” super variant expected to come out of the right wing governed country like the UK but not a left wing governed country such as the US.

  Efficacy is the word used in the trials of vaxx experiment. Efficient is the real world results of the vax.
  
  As in the very short term trials the efficacy of the ro vax was 95%. However in the real world the ro vax is around 70% efficient and fast declining.
  
  What else have they got wrong with the ro vax? Time will tell.
  
  Australia is already ordered 85 million third booster doses. Scomo got the memo a while ago. Dont worry Cindy will know as well. But cant let the cattle know just yet.

    Not quite correct, one was a German crew member off a cruise ship in WA, the other, guy in Geelong with advanced cancer.
    The US reached a real milestone a few weeks back, more deaths from vaccine than covid.
    178 more deaths from vaccines.
    The current vaccines being jabbed are looking more obsolete by the day, there are a few more traditional vaccines on the horizon looking promising, but the current crop really give the same protection as a condom full of holes.
    UK and USA are the places to watch, Australia isn’t much further in front of NZ with 2 jabs.

        If the 11,000 becomes 25,000 that very acceptable as collateral damage is it?
        The highest deaths from vaccines since 1990 was 690 in 2019.
        Common sense tells me this is an unacceptable level, you write as the deaths are at an end the way you write the percentage, they are only just starting.
        Time will tell but vaccines should really not be killing more than I can count on one hand a week, if we average from 1990 to 2018.
        Death comes to all of us, just going to be sooner for a shit load of people worldwide by the looks of it.

        Whoa – lets rewind. I don’t know if your data is correct. But deaths by the vaccine of 1 in 14,000 is not miniscule. It is very high. I can’t find good data for total deaths by MMR vaccine (well not in the time I have right now). But deaths from the common clild hood vaccines would be more like 1 in 1 million.

      You are entirely rational and your logic is unassailable. Any risk flowing from people remaining unvaccinated will be borne solely by the unvaccinated individual. If vaccines work as claimed, vaccinated individuals have nothing to be afraid of.
      
      So why the push for full vaccination, regardless of whether you need it or want it? Obviously, there is a lot to be gained if you are Big Pharma, are funded by Big Pharma or have shares in Big Pharma. But also, if there is a low uptake of vaccinations, then the next item on the agenda, universal vaccine passports (which will expand to full social credit passports), will not be able to function as intended – i.e. as a means of bifurcating society into the obediently enslaved who are granted social privilege in return for their submission, and the shunned and disobedient who are punished for their non-compliance. If most fall into the latter category, the two-tier system will not be viable, because it fundamentally depends on mass buy-in. What are they going to do, ostracise more people than not? This won’t work as the slave society will be dysfunctional due to the very low number of accredited citizens, so therefore the vast majority need to be vaccinated, and therefore subject to receiving their full suite of privileges (I use the word privileges deliberately, because freedom will have been usurped).

        You’ve either missed or ignored that fact that the risk from unvaccinated individuals is borne by others as well as the individual.
        
        Children, those with conditions, or simply other unvaccinated people, are all highly vulnerable to spread because of people choosing to make a poor choice based on no solid evidence base.

        That makes no sense:
        
        1) Children are at almost zero risk from Covid

        2) “People with conditions” are free to get vaccinated if they choose, and if they choose not to, then that is their own choice.
        
        3) “Other unvaccinated people” have presumably also chosen to remain so, and therefore willingly bare any risk.
        
        If vaccinated people remain at risk, then this demonstrates that there is no point in being vaccinated, as the function of vaccinations is to prevent infection. The case against vaccination is strengthened given that the long-term effects of the vaccines are not and cannot yet be known.

    Vaccinated or not you can be a spreader, take out moment, anytime you are infectious, point me to a scientific paper that tells me different.
    The Scientific papers I have seen, would actually indicate the opposite to your Jacinda sound byte.
    I would believe Peter A McCullough and hundreds of others even though the fish n chip wrapper tells me where I should seek my information and medical advice from here and her “experts”

      Yes, the current vaccines don’t stop you getting COVID or spreading it. There is growing concern they may prompt the development of more dangerous mutations because of the limited defence they provide. That would be disastrous. This is a huge scientific and ethical issue. I am due for my first jab in 10 days but I am seriously reconsidering.

  You are not a personally a danger to society by not being vaccinated.
  
  However if the public vaccination rate is too low, then COVID will spread too easily due to too many spreaders in the population. So a few more people will die and travel restrictions will stay in place and economic hardship for certain sectors will remain causing a few more people to lose their livelihoods.
  
  So… if you don’t have a medical problem with vaccination, such as allergic reactions, why wouldn’t you just get vaccinated?

    Because I’d like to wait a couple of years to see if any abnormalities show up from the vaccine.
    If there is nothing then I’ll get vaccinated, it seems the only reason you need to get vaccinated is if you want to travel overseas.

      Now I could have gobbled them down or waited two years to see if they had any adverse effect of the others who ate them.

        There’s lots of odd looking food I don’t risk eating. Probably it’s fine, but I prefer not to take the risk. Of course, I am not as desperate for food as my grandparents were, so I can afford to be choosy about what I eat.
        
        Equally, in NZ many people feel they can afford to wait before taking the vaccine.

    Because, although the risk of complications from being vaccinated is ‘low’, why should I take the risk?
    Especially if, as reported, the sickness caused by the virus, is for most people no worse than a heavy cold, or a mild ‘regular’ flu. All things being equal, if I felt ‘flu-ish I could simply take my vitamins, stock up with Panadol, and rest up at home until I felt better. (Actually, I’m going to ask the GP for an ‘at home’ kit prescription.)
    In past years people carried on with their lives, and built up immunity from constant casual contact with ‘carriers’ during daily life. We can see that the isolation enforced throughout 2020, 2021 has seen a rise in other respiratory infections – ones to which we usually build basic immunity in our childhood.
    Vaccination is a nonsense if we need to have a ‘booster’ every 6 months because the INITIAL vaccine effect is so short-lived.

        When those are gone we now only have left the less vulnerable but over time we generate more vulnerable but in a slightly lower number than those that were at risk in 2019/20 due to the benign years of 2016 – 2018.
        
        Now we still have vulnerable and they are still dying, vaccinated or not except those that die without a vaccination die from covid yet those that die after vaccination die from natural causes.

A balanced summary of The Ivermectin Debate

To date, about 50 studies – among them about 30 randomized controlled trials and about 40 peer-reviewed publications – have been done on the use of ivermectin against covid. Most of these studies found that the use of ivermectin was associated with a positive outcome, such as a reduced risk of infection, hospitalization or death (see chart above; not all of these results were significant).

Based on these studies, several meta-analyses computed positive results, too. Most recently, a WHO-supported meta-analysis of 24 randomized controlled trials found a 56% mortality reduction overall and a 70% mortality reduction in patients who received early outpatient treatment.

Nevertheless, several concerns have been raised regarding the reliability of these results, and major health authorities like the WHO, the US FDA and the European EMA all continue to advise against the use of ivermectin outside of clinical trials.

The article goes on to outline concerns including publication bias, low quality studies and, again, fraud.

      Never heard that Kev however it was a well known and often used chemical treatment to control internal gut parasites such as worms in domestic animals and I think the use in humans has been for similar reasons.
      I am suspicious that the off patent theory does have legs and when the creation of great wealth by the Pharmaceutical companies is considered it would not be surprising that they and their enablers might be following an agenda here.

        If you all want to use it for COVID then for Dog’s sake use the Branded version not the generic. It won’t help you for the virus, although it will deworm you if necessary.
        
        So why an I encouraging you to use branded if you insist on taking an unproven, unlicensed product? Merck has a long-standing program to donate one dose of ivermectin to Africa (where intestinal and other worm infections kill readily) for every [branded] dose bought by affluent countries. Almost all the horse people I know rich and moderate income, buy branded for that reason. Y’all may as well offset some drug buying misguidedness with a global public health/medical good.

Since the first day of lockdown in NZ, I have asked the question – what is NZ’s exit strategy for the Ro?

Smug lefties have said that NZ have handled this crisis the best in world.

I have wondered since inception whether we just kicked the can down the road, at ruinous cost, but would just face a similar result a couple of years down the track…

Everything has been gambled on production of the magic potions – the vaccines!

Alas, the vaccines seem to underwhelm a little. Will they really save the main people who die from Ro – frail, very old people with on average three co-morbidities? It doesn’t really make sense that they would.

I suspect that we could only adopt “hiding under the beds for two years approach” once, because we can’t afford to do it again.

If new variants come along (which seems almost certain), will we simply have to live with them? Or will we lockdown again, until we go broke?

The current plan is the latter – we hide under out beds, until Rona is magically eliminated.

The Third World, here we come!!!

Am I the only one to hate OneWoke network’s olympics coverage. Let’s surmise:

1). Pidgin English being presented at ever opportunity
2). Focus on female sports and sports presenters with all the highlights for the presenters being female athletes
3). Ensuring Aotearoa gets uttered more times than New Zealand

Fresh from the embarrassment of the America’s Cup presentation it appears our “national” broadcaster has double downed (not in a good KFC way) on woke coverage.

I know Toni Street is a lovely person but heck shouldn’t we get more capable and credible sports presenters for the type of person that actually watches sport.

The only redeeming point is I was yet to see Stacey Morrison’s missus and his lack of the command of English. It will be coming though…..

  THREE like most other entertainment channels is predominantly violent programming with almost every show carrying a warning of violence and bad language, so in the face of this some looney came up with catch phrase ALL GOOD, which just had to clash with their mainline programming.
  
  A classic example was the other evening in RAMBO, LAST BLOOD when Stallone was returning to his farm with his just rescued but drugged, raped, and badly injured niece and she died – crash cut to the PR slogan: ALL GOOD, THREE. Utterly ludicrous and mood destroying! So THREE regularly wrecks their own viewing, with an idiot slogan that is presumably intended to increase their viewer numbers.
  
  And the same irritation bizarrely applies to the Maori phrases now scattered throughout 1 News, one of the oddest being greetings and thanks in Maori between the white presenter and an obviously white reporter, in somewhere like Europe. And when it boils down to what usefulness picking up such phrases may be, just how often do you want to say “Nau mai ki ngā hākinakina o te wā” – “welcome to the sports of the day”? I’m over the swimming already. Seriously why does swimming need so many events? I guess because swimming arenas are expensive and the US does well in the pool they need to conjure up so many races.

If the swimming guys ran the athletics program there’d be running backwards, skipping and hopping races.

      I find weight lifting to be great entertainment. It makes some sports looking boring and wimpy. The drama is intense as they try for the final big lift then struggle to hold the weight.

  I have 2 kids that competitively swim – I agree boring as 1 week old bat shit.
  
  That said all 4 strokes are different and require different body types, techniques etc therefore think of the different strokes the equivalent of the field side of track and field.

  Yossarian, the question to ask is why are there so many running races on the track? Goes from 100m to a marathon I suppose. And there are the variants like jumping over hurdles. Ditto with jumping – why this strange hop, step and jump thing? The fact is that there are four different strokes in swimming with only freestyle going over 200m. To me, the king of all the races is the 400 individual medley where the winner has to be good at all four strokes. Because breastroke is the slowest stroke, the person who is really good at breastroke is always in with a chance. Interestingly, excellent swimmers in each stroke generally conform to certain body types and shapes. Even more interestingly, how many Afro-Americans do you ever see succeeding in the pool? Or in cycling? Or maori in either discipline?

    On the track performance is related to distance, speed and endurance. Height and leg length can be a factor too.
    A 100m sprinter can sure zoom along but the 5km runners are more sedate and have to pace themselves.

I see in Sydney they’re pumping the story of a 38 year old accounting student that died from covid with no underlying health issues. I find this doubtful but in any case if it’s true how is it different to a young person dying of blood clots from the AZ vaccine (as has happened)? It’s an extreme outlier and fear porn at its best.

    With Akld connected and dependant on the Waikato River for supply and Hamilton’s Council under Govt control, some interesting questions are raised. As it currently stands, Hamilton will be automatically subsumed into the Govt’s scheme. Will Akld automatically be included in the scheme or will Akld’s supply be turned off?
    Having said that, I’m picking Akld’s current Mayor won’t oppose joining the Govt’s scheme. He won’t want to upset his Labour mates.
    WRT Councils who bill water users via their rates, will any referenda only include Ratepayers? I would rather hope so.

The laissez-faire approach to immigration that Minister Kris Faafoi has adopted is a disgrace. As Faafoi sits on his hands in his ministerial office, immigrants are leaving New Zealand in large numbers. And the ones who are packing up and going because they can’t get an answer out of the Minister and Immigration NZ are leaving big holes. At the weekend, we read about a GP from Otaki who is returning reluctantly to the UK, having moved to New Zealand in good faith to work here. As a result, the medical centre this doctor has been working at will now close its doors to new patients.

The queue for permanent residence applications has stalled, and there is now a backlog of 36,000 applications awaiting processing. Even worse, the Expression of Interest queue, the queue to get onto the queue has been paused, with record numbers of people waiting to be invited to submit their applications for residence. Even if the EOI queue remains stalled, it will take eleven years at normal processing rates to clear the residence application backlog.

Jordan Carter is right; all those who were in New Zealand when the borders closed, and who have already applied for permanent residence should have their applications approved forthwith. But that’s not going to happy whilst Faafoi remains paralysed by inaction.

These are hard working, skilled professionals, and our business will struggle to replace them. From the dealings I’ve have with Immigration it almost feels like this is a deliberate move to limit supply.

    You may not like what I am saying.
    I was married to a Kiwi and had three boys with her in Australia. Her father was an Australian that went to NZ as a little child. She automatically got Australian citizenship and an extra passport.
    The boys I discovered could all have NZ citizenship and a second passport which I do find truly bizarre.
    This is all on their mother being born in NZ.
    They have no intention of living in NZ, but we see it as very handy in this day and age with regard to travel. One has three passports.
    Of course, the priority should be people living and working in NZ and paying taxes.
    Imagine how many kids born to a single NZ parent are entitled to citizenship, mind boggling really.

Can’t you make any points without a political bias Tony, you commend Fonseka for his articles by comparing him with the “stable” at Stuff as you put it, has already called Jordan “a darling of the left” after clearly couching your views of what they say with provisional acceptance as to who the reporter worked for and the political alliances of the other in your view.
Are you so politically fragile that you can’t get behind an idea without scattering it with the same inventory of platitudes day after day?
And Jordon used the words “nearly all.” I watched this issue on the news last night and NZ has missed the bus to this point it seems. Another aspect is that it is more expensive to accept other immigrants at this point without first making the best of the potential pool already here that don’t need them to go through the Covid isolation process and have a record of actually living in NZ.

Despite these criticisms, Sweden’s laissez-faire approach to the pandemic continues today. In contrast to its European neighbors, Sweden is welcoming tourists. Businesses and schools are open with almost no restrictions. And as far as masks are concerned, not only is there no mandate in place, Swedish health officials are not even recommending them.

What are the results of Sweden’s much-derided laissez-faire policy? Data show the 7-day rolling average for COVID deaths yesterday was zero (see below). As in nada. And it’s been at zero for about a week now.

However, it does draw attention to a problem that tall and/or large children face when playing sport.
The bigger child is often subjected to rules and/or criticism that is solely based on their physical attributes.
They are continually faced with the opinions of concerned parents, especially in contact sports, and the supporters of opposing teams.
We make no allowances for attributes like speed, power, agility or many other natural advantages a child may have – why size.
Is this fair.

  It’s hard because size is very important in rugby and League at youth level, to the extent that it’s more important than age. Why differentiate on age groups when size is far more relevant? Is that fair?
  
  We are losing Rugby and League players at youth level because of these oversized kids who long term aren’t generally the players that go on to be professionals.
  
  They definitely should be allowed to play but size should be the defining characteristic, not age.

    Player are being lost at age group level, however from observation at age group tournaments the players involved at u16 were often bigger than those at u18.
    I know of schools where, because of the size and power of race “x”, they stopped putting out rugby balls at intervals over forty years ago.
    Many decades ago at secondary we played rugby at lunchtimes, we became selective about who we tackled.
    Rugby are going to keep losing players at youth level as much because selection processes and playing methods as oversize young players.
    The pyramid is too narrow at the bottom and the selection process starts too young in life.

    When I played club rugby way back last century the grades were by weight. I started in 5 stone grade, moved up to 5.7st, then 6st and upwards as I got older and bigger. Perhaps this system should be reintroduced?

Yesterday I had a mooch around a shop that sells American products exclusively. It didn’t take long to have a mooch. The shelves were mostly empty and the centre of the shop usually packed with product was bare. Signs were saying this was due to shipping delays. Why hasn’t this been sorted by now? It’s been going on for months.

3 News with yet another story on how NZ is going to have to import even more record amounts of coal this year…

New Zealand is likely to import more coal this year than it has in any other year, in the midst of a government-declared climate emergency.

Last year the country’s main coal users imported more than they had in 14 years, and this year government officials expect even more to come in. Most of this coal is burned to power our homes and businesses.

The government expects an additional 150,000 tonnes of coal will arrive here, a 14 percent increase on last year’s total which was already over 1 million tonnes.

Forest and Bird chief executive Kevin Hague said this was unacceptable.

“What we’re seeing is the result of years of failure to put in place alternative arrangements. And in consequence, we’re faced with this disaster,” said Hague, a former Green Party MP.

  I find it interesting that the Indonesian coal imports are ignored by the likes of Extinction Rebellion. This organisation, and others like them, constantly protest about coal exports from the West Coast or coal being used by Fonterra. But here we have millions of tonnes of low-grade coal being imported from Indonesia, causing a vast increase in our emissions, and not a word.
  
  I am not against protest and I would have thought that these shipments should be high on the protest list? Instead of blockades of Tauranga Harbour, we get nothing from Extinction Rebellion.
  
  Clearly, it is different, and OK, if Labour do it.

The att6acks, in Gabon central Africa, were believed to be sparked by competition for food.
Reseachers witnessed two fatal mass attacks in the Loango National Park.
In the first a group of 27 Chimpanzees attacked five gorillas. The gorilla, two silverbacks and 2 females, injured several chimpanzees but an infant gorilla was killed.
The second battle, between more than two dozen chimpanzees and seven gorillas, again saw an infant killed, then eaten.
The report in “Nature” said fruit in Gabon’s forests was not as widespread as in the past, suggesting climate change could be a factor.
(Perhaps the weather may also a factor.)

  Jane Goodall made the first report of Chimps eating meat – eating a bushpig.
  Later she made the first observation of chimps hunting Colobus monkeys.
  
  Perhaps folks are still learning exactly what Chimps hunt.
  
  Although Forests have been pretty intact in the Gabon, things are changing and logging companies are moving in…..perhaps a better explanation as to why the forests are not as widespread as in the past.
