  Talking to another unvaccinated individual today, and we agreed that an unintended consequence of the traffic light system is that from Dec 3rd all the unvaccinated people are going to be protected from the great “unwashed” vaccinated people with depressed immune systems and inability to repair their DNA (as recent scientific papers have shown), and as more than likely they will be the ones who will be passing on whatever variant turns up on our doorstep.

      By contrast here’s some actual data, Covid-19(Delta) Case Fatality Rate in NZ:
      
      Of these 5,325 were unvaccinated cases (1876 are kids under 12, 30 of whom have been in hospital at some point).
      
      We’ve had seventeen Delta deaths, I assume that still includes the gunshot victim, and for argument’s sake we’ll assume they were all unvaccinated, even though we know that’s not the case.
      
      So that’s a Case Fatality Rate (CFR) of 0.32%.
      
      Among the unvaccinated!
      
      Scary!
      
      BTW the seasonal flu in the USA has a CFR that bounces between lower than 2% (good flu season) and near 3% (bad flu season).

    Yes I will also be limiting my exposure to the great “unwashed” vaccinated.
    
    My reason is that they can carry a higher viral load before showing symptoms, making them far more infectious.
    
    The reason why you should keep your “fake” vaccination passport for emergencies only.
    
    The long term effects of the vaccination will probably not known for many years.

Jacinda Ardern’s obsession with co-governance can be seen in the fact that the Pae Ora Bill, to replace democratically elected Health Boards with an apartheid system controlled by Maori, is being rammed through Parliament during a crisis, when an ill-equipped health service is desperately trying to ready itself for an expected tsunami of Delta cases.

The PM’s obsession can also be seen in her determination to ignore widespread opposition and force through her disastrous Three Waters proposal to replace democratic control of local government water infrastructure and services with tribal control. The Bill is expected to be tabled in Parliament any day now, with submissions called over Christmas, so it can be rushed into law early next year.

What is particularly galling is the fact that not only did Jacinda Ardern seek no mandate from voters to replace democracy with tribal rule, but she deceived the public by campaigning on moderate policy promises, that were radicalised, once she realised she could govern alone.

As the British politician Lord Acton astutely observed in 1887, “Power corrupts, but absolute power corrupts absolutely.”

What Prime Minister in her right mind would even consider delivering the effective privatisation of critical public assets and services into the hands of a powerful and self-interested tribal cabal, who cares nothing for the rights or concerns of other New Zealanders?

The signs have been around for decades.
Don’t say you haven’t been warned…

With all the money spent on settlements, no taxes paid by iwi companies who make millions a year- how come this hasn’t trickled down to Maori?- answer the elites are mega rich and the average Maori is getting jack shit – especially the urban ones who belong to no Iwi.

        Maybe – if this is chosen then they must explain fully.
        
        Questions of every standing candidate:
        
        1. Will you immediately repeal the Vaccine Passport System upon election?
        
        2. Will you immediately repeal the Three Waters legislation upon election?
        
        3. Will you immediately restore the DHB system will elected local boards upon election?
        
        4. Will you immediately restore local government to true democratic structure, with only members elected to office, upon election?
        
        5. Will you work to restore true democratic governance of all public authorities
        
        6. Will you work to restore local control over school boards, with parents having authority to guide the direction of the school
        
        7. Will you work to restore freedom of speech in all bodies, councils, universities and all educational institutions, so that noted speakers, academics and scientists can talk freely without interference from their employers, professional associations, and the government itself.
        
        8. Will you work to restore educational diversity, allowing for independent schools to be established following the philosophies and morals and ethics of the parents who wish to send their children there, with funding based on the same amount as would state schools.
        
        9. Will you immediately establish an enquiry into the handling of Covid-19 in New Zealand, and the decisions made that have laid waste the economy, including those that have politically divided the nation, and give it the mandate to review the current pandemic response document that was ignored, with consequences for those involved.
        
        10. Will you restore the justice system to ensure that those committing the worst heinous crimes are kept from mainstream society, and that at all levels, from juvenile to adult, there are immediate and significant consequences appropriate to the crime.

The Ministry of Health expects 455,847 people to be eligible for a booster shot by the end of the year. [1]

The Government has launched its long-awaited vaccine pass, with those who are fully vaccinated able to download a pass later on Wednesday morning. [2] – Nov 17 2021

So those first to down load Passes but requiring boosters by December 31, will have passes still valid until May 17, 2022 – six months since they arbitrarily downloaded their Pass – nothing to do with the period of Pfizer fizzle out (in aspects of the vaccine waining, other than apparently its reduction of serious illness and hospitalisation)
Just how much of a danger to their communities are people in the same medical “expiry” situation of the “455,847 people”, above, but who do not have a booster?

A question, some journalist (with sufficient spinal fortitude) should ask Ardern, is –
Why does the Pass have an Expiry Date?
The answer should be –
Because the vaccination wains in efficacy after six months
Then the question, the journalist (still with more spinal fortitude) should ask Ardern, is –
Why does the Expiry Date relate to the totally irrelevant download date of the Pass, rather than the medical date of receiving the second vaccine dose (+ plus two weeks for optimum protection)? Are you, out of not wanting to issue passes with already Expired Dates on them, and for lack of an simple extra line of computer code in the Pass programme, issuing a potential 4.2 million invalid Passes nationwide, and what danger will that pose?

Where is a journalist that will ask that?

  No, I disagree. It has nothing to do with the vaccination effectiveness but rather they want the ability to change the passport mechanism by forcing people to upgrade in 6 months.
  
  If it was really based on the lifetime of the vaccine, then it would be far shorter – maybe 3 months.
  
  It’s looking like a good bet that the existing vaccinations will be even less effective on the new variant, so those who look to the vaccine for the cure to everything will probably be queuing up again in March or April.
  
  Just remember, it’s all theatre. Then it makes a lot more sense.

    It’s a bit more sinister than theatre, notwithstanding the fact I’ve previously used the same term. ‘Vaccine passports’ are all about conditioning our population to accept that freedoms are a conditional dispensation of the state. This, of course, is the first rung in the totalitarianism ladder, and far to many New Zealander are happily climbing.

  I would appreciate some questions asked regarding the logic, or lack thereof, in the implementation of the traffic light system. It has been reported several times in the media that NO regions will get a green light, presumably then, the South Island will all be orange.
  
  Under an orange setting, without a vaccine pass requirement, a hospitality cannot open for dine in and gyms can’t open at all. So suddenly, on 3 December, it will be ‘unsafe’ for unvaccinated people to go to the gym even though they have been doing so since 7 September when we moved to Level 2. A Christchurch hospitality business that has been trading well and safely for almost 3 months, would have to shut it doors unless it opts into the vaccine pass regime.
  
  This makes NO sense as there has been no community transmission down here: even though a couple of Delta cases have moved around Christchurch in October, they did not spread. Call me cynical, but this sounds far less about health and the spread of a virus, and far more about exerting pressure on businesses to opt into the pass regime and, as a consequence, push the last vaccine holdouts into getting the jab.
  
  Additionally, on the COVID website it clearly outlines the requirements for an Orange setting:
  
  “At Orange, there will be community transmission, with pressure on our health system. The whole of health system is focusing its resources, but can manage primary care, public health, and hospitals. There may also be an increasing risk for at-risk people”
  
  None of that applies to the South Island and Christchurch and surrounding districts are close to, or over, 90% fully vaccinated. If we don’t get a Green light now, when will we?

I’d pit the current core of; luxon, Stanford, Bridges, Bishop, Willis, Mitchell, Brownlee, Doocey, Kiriger and Simone as far stronger than the current kiddies running the treasury benches

  The problem with electing a new leader is all 33 caucus members have an equal vote so it only takes 16 to swing in behind a contender.
  All the bright sparks can easily be out numbered in a tight race.
  According to Matthew Hooten, Judith Collins has promised some votes to Luxon including a couple who might just slip down the list if Bridges is the big boss.
  I would suggest if Bridges gets the job there might just be some blood on the floor, not just in the caucus.

    Once again with these National Party people, it’s all about them personally, not about us, the long suffering voters.
    I would like to see some honesty come into their decision making re leadership- who is the best person capable of rattling Ardern’s cage and effectively curbing the huge power of the Labour Party?
    If that is genuinely and realistically Mr Luxon – then ok. Go with him.
    But if it is not – then be brave and pick the person most likely to succeed whether you like them personally or not.
    People out here are really over the National Party’s selfish factionalism at the expense of the voters.

  But they don’t have a front (wo-)man who can win the votes from the Waitakere man type swing voters.
  
  A third of the electorate are tribal Nats/ACT. Another third are tribal Labour/Greens. But it’s the other third in the middle where you win or lose the election. That’s the talent, charisma and skill the Nats lack.

Scrolling through the Stuff website this morning I saw this article and the brief on it that says “The government will today outline which parts of the country get what freedoms from Friday”. I find this outrageous. Who the hell do these politicians think they are? This is how dictators talk. I have an idea, how about the politicians go back to Wellington and leave us alone. With such high vaccination rates these laws are written simply to punish people who don’t follow the governments narrative. I feel like these laws are more suited to the South Africa of the 70s. To even write such laws is psychopathic in the least and shows how unfit for government this lot are.

Shaw needed a headline number to take to Glasgow following the embarrassment of the Emissions Reduction Plan. Fifty percent sounds pretty schmick.

If there is a cause for outrage, it’s not the accounting. It’s the sheer scale of the offsets required to get us there. Some two-thirds of the forecast reductions come not by actually reducing our emissions but by buying offsets – around 100 million tonnes of emissions savings.

If we’re talking analogies, that’s like saying you’ll lose weight by paying someone else to run around the block twice a week.

It gets worse. We don’t know the cost of these offsets yet. The Climate Change Commission estimates anything between $2 billion and $20 billion [$2 – 20 billion? – nothing like a having a buck or two each way]. This year’s rise in carbon prices raises those stakes even higher.

What will happen to all that money? We don’t know, but there’s a fair chance that we’ll be paying other nations to plant trees for us. Lots of trees. Potentially we’d be increasing our exotic forests by 50 percent, except that extra half will be overseas.

How are we going to count those trees and measure that carbon? Other rich nations are also wanting to buy those offsets, so how are we going to make sure that there is no double-counting and funny business, like there was under the Kyoto Protocol? Will those forests lock up that carbon in perpetuity in a world with more droughts and wildfires? And most importantly, do the people in those countries get a fair say in what happens to their land? Will they accept it being bought and tied up by rich Westerners?

Jacinda Ardern in an address to a New York UN Climate summit stated, “We aim to plant one billion trees by 2028 – 150 million are already in the ground”, when her Government had, in two years, only directly funded 24,681,000 trees, or 2.46 percent of the 1 billion total.
Shaw was appointed by the Glasgow summit to supervise transparency in all nations’ transactions – laugh yourself stupid over that. His first task should be to damn Jacinda for her mis-speaking.
And now not only does Ardern’s Government kick the climate can down the road, but into other people’s back yards.
Will they try Columbia, Venezuela, or China, and expect more transparency, honesty and integrity than our own Government, who will omit lessening emission here to the extent that they offset them offshore in other people’s back yards?

Sorry we didn’t deliver on that policy either, but it was really Columbia, Venezuela, and China who didn’t deliver – for shaw!

  There are reasons to oppose buying carbon offsets as a means of delivering New Zealand’s commitment to help with reducing global emissions. But the cost is not one of them.
  
  If it were cheaper to reduce emissions here in New Zealand than to pay another country to reduce theirs, then we’d do it here. But it isn’t. You can’t complain about offset purchase on the grounds of cost and then say we should reduce emissions here instead, a course of action which would cost far, far more.
  
  If you think the cost of buying offsets is too high, when it’s actually the cheapest way of reducing emissions, then your quarrel is with the target level, not with offset purchasing.
  
  No, it’s not like paying somebody else to run round the block in order to lose weight yourself. The climate does not care where emissions come from, so a tonne of carbon emitted from a Chinese power plant has exactly the same impact as a tone emitted from cars on New Zealand roads. Therefore, reducing emissions from the former is exactly as valuable as reducing emissions from the latter, and whichever is the cheapest is the one that is the best use of money.

Co-governance, currently being implemented for Three Waters and the health system is not only a future disaster in terms of social justice but is already proving an operational cluster f—k. As the Stuff article shows co governance involving Tuhoe and Doc in the Urewera National Park is resulting in trashing of Doc facilities, maintenance failures and closure of public access. My own experience of co governance has been the Hauraki Gulf Forum. Set up in 2000 it is directed by iwi representatives and local authority and government officials. In 20 years it has introduced nothing to enhance conservation in the Hauraki Gulf. The reason is all proposals are targeted as gains to Maori only, eg co governed coastal domains (Ahu Moana) or customary rights reserves (AKA Maori only fishing areas).
The future for the delivery of any benefits from co governance to anyone looks dim.

Late Friday we made the decision to head up to beach for the weekend.
Weather and tide were perfect.
Almost had the place to ourselves.
Laid back and did sweet-fanny for two days.

Heading back last night I couldn’t help but think to myself…. just how lucky we were that my partner’s grandad discovered Tindalls before the Harawera’s.

The Prime Minister is to make an announcement later today that she will be announcing later in the week the establishment of a new Maori taxation department – Te Tari More Taake.

Under the terms of te Tiriti and shared responsibility the new department will have revenue raising powers similar to the IRD. The legislation will bring the present IRD in under Te Tari More Taake’s control.

The PM stated their was keen interest among Maori leaders for senior roles in the new department.

Currently we have a Prime Minister who previously had a CV so dreadfully weak that she had to bring up her fine work at a Fish and Chip shop in Morrinsville.
Politics however is ALL about timing.

And Chris Luxon left Air New Zealand in June 2019.

Covid arrived in February 2020. When Air New Zealand had a gold plated CEO take over. Not even he could stop the company tanking.

Tell me Chris Luxon does not have the lady luck of timing on his side? He dodged the largest bullet in corporate history being in charge of an airline during Covid.

The National caucus have no other option but to pick Luxon and FIFO – fit in or fuck off.

This one short blog post is the most I’ve heard about Luxon, be nice if we could hear something from him, tho’ just maybe the “media” are ignoring him cos’ they perceive him as a threat?

    I watched the interview- first time for me to see Luxon in this situation. Fluent, intelligent, good-humoured, on point. Excellent. Like others I worry that his view of the changes he wants to see in the National Party involve more wokeness but maybe he is indeed the man for the job. LUXON vs BRIDGES

The biggest impediment to Bridges is the Muller and now Collins fallout. Bridges has to reconcile both those factions to his bosom. Both were not happy with him. Luxon doesn’t have to do either. Lux is the cleaner option if this is about unity.

Why go Bridges with all that in-house animosity to resolve? Back foot from the start.

        Casual observation suggests to me that Collins was the glue holding some women onto Ardern. In Collins absence, with a half decent alternative Ardern would start shedding that support rather rapidly.
        
        I rather think Bridges would be a good choice, he’s looking far more relaxed since his first time around and has rehabilitated his image somewhat thanks to Paula Bennett’s game show.

  My personal preference would be for Bridges. Unfortunately, as he has been in parliament longer, there are too many other senior Nats already sharpening their knives for his back over past perceived or actual slights.

  Both Bridges and Collins were taken out by Cindy’s bribed media mob. Muller was probably one too finding their heat too difficult to sustain. Most voters have no concept how difficult an MP’s life can be. Their families are under attack too.
  
  Judith and Simon did the best they were allowed to be seen doing. There is massive obscurity surrounding Judith’s take out.
  Don’t expect the next Nat Leader to be seen to perform better. That is against the spirit of the media bribe.
  
  It may be time for the Opposition parties to call Jacinda’s bluff. If they refused to attend Parliament in mass that might get the GG’s attention.

It just makes my head hurt. I literally do not know what this person is referring to. I have decided to delete it. If it is important something will turn up.

Honestly this is now happening daily. I usually work my way through with google translate but it all seems kind of pointless when neither the sender or the recipient are proficient in Maori.

You may not be aware, but English is the universal business language of the world, and to make yourself understood, it would be beneficial to you to use that language.

The Thai mother spoke terrible broken accented English to her child, the American father terrible broken accented Thai. It took all my strength not to leap out of my chair, slap them both hard and yell “WTF are you doing?! Talk in your NATIVE LANGUAGE to your daughter so she’ll learn both languages correctly!”

  Can confirm. Saved mid-high 5-figures, BC was hard lockdown for ~6 months, then softer version 12 months. Nothing to buy in first 6 mo except contactless Amazon delivery (lightbulbs, dishwashing fluid etc) then the following 6-8 mo. takeout pizza or sushi. Plus the odd Amazon gift for B’days, baby showers etc. Amazingly I worked out I don’t need that stuff. Also save thousands of $ not traveling – used to do 50 – 100K air miles/year, not going back to that. random impertinent Q: why is a glass of wine in an airport $15??????

  It seems to me that if Omicron is more transmissible and has less severe symptoms than delta we should be importing it ASAP and thus solving our problems. Expose everyone to the mild omicron, displace delta and get on with life.     Interesting note about “Omicron”, it has over 20 specific mutations compared to its nearest known relative, and this is almost uniquely different and seemingly highly unlikely by pure chance.
    
    A couple of hypotheses have been advanced about tit; one is that it is another lab release from someone (UK or SA most likely) experimenting with the virus, and there are some “rumours” of an escape in a Capetown facility. More likely though is the possibility of the “collision” between HIV and Covid, with an immune compromised HIV patient harbouring and active Covid infection kept in partial check by the anti-HIV medications for an extended period, possibly up to 8-9 months, and as a result generating a stable by highly mutated version in the long active period. That long infection would be a process similar to the serial passages experiments thought to have been involved in the laboratory adaptation of the original Covid version in Wuhan.

    Funnily enough I heard some bloke on the radio purporting to represent the Newmarket business area. Raved on hysterically about the unprecedented rise in bashings and beatings and mugging and bashings… yes, he did double dose the bashings. He sounded terrified, or at least very worked up for his moment with a microphone.
    
    Now Newmarket had a Smith and Caughey dontcha know so we can’t have that can we? Little old ladies with a new hat or a set of doylies being bashed and mugged and robbed…(and bashed) ! So I went to the police stats website. Green. Newmarket was coloured. I think that was good because the CBD was a yucky orange and it is well known as the best place to give and get a good bashing. ( I blame the evil weed. Too many yoof getting pre loaded on the stuff and heading into town, all riled up and maddened by the satanic reefer, failing to pull and fighting over their White Lady orders).

  An update – a Police officer was seriously hurt last night, hit by a car when he was trying to lay down road spikes, and at least one, possibly two officers have been injured this morning in a firearms incident in Glen Eden, which has left a man dead.
  
  With an estimated 1200 to 1400 Police not yet vaccinated against Covid, perhaps they don’t see the virus as the greatest thread to their health on a daily basis.

I can’t imagine if I was young, female, relatively poor, or of a different skin hue that he would have any appeal whatsoever to me. I’m actually all of those (except the young bit) and he doesn’t do it for me. I see him as a privileged and patronising old dude.

    To be fair, the latest MacBook Air is hardly expensive and remarkably quick, plus it has exceptional battery life for that power. Replaced my wife’s old MacBook Pro with one a few months ago and it has been great, faster, lighter, and twice the battery life. Have to say that the new Apple CPU’s are quite remarkably better than the opposition offering at present.
    
    Waiting myself for the new 27” iMac equivalents to be released and hoping that they don’t go all iMac Pro on them which would ratchet up the price too far for me to bother.
    
    Having a Mac can make you more productive too. How, well, see an article or comment in a new game, decide that looks like a great game I should get that and try it……shit, doesn’t run on a Mac, so back to work….

We seriously need to rethink our democracy. I used to support the Westminster system. Now labour are just ramming through everything, and apparently the people support it because they voted Labour.

I didn’t see 3 waters in their election manifesto? We have to fully accept or reject a manifesto without any compromise under the system. The courts can’t protect our rights. Our system worked in the past because we had a majority British settler population, giving the illusion the system worked well.

We need to seriously rethink our political and legal system. Especially with tribalism and etho nationalist parties in parliament.

If we are capable of electing this utterly useless and incompetent Government on the basis of Jacinda’s lovely smile, we are just as likely to vote for ill-founded and badly thought-out policy proposals on the same basis. Referenda held now would almost certainly deliver more stringent vaccine mandates than even the Government is proposing, and quite likely indefinitely extended border closures.

The gang wars continue in West Auckland as the helicopters circle again on Monday morning. Stuff reports a large property fire. “Police have surrounded a property in Danube Lane. A witness said they heard officers telling someone to “put it down.. ” ” Armed officers are once again standing guard.

How different this is to the wellington inner city political and media class. Can we have a map showing dots and crime of where the elite who represent us live and also a map showing where they have placed parolees and social housing.The two would be completely distinct.

NZ should move parliament to Waitakere for the next three years. The green star rated top of the line old Waitakere Council office building connected to the trains is still empty. Let media and the politicians and their contractors live and work in West Auckland for a few years so they understand NZ’s problems and so the money and contracts associated with their work can flow to the areas that most need it.

    Oh for crying out loud… I’m a female full Professor. Tokenism should just go away and die, and that includes this B/S idea of “but, but. but there isn’t enough women”. If they are qualified they’ll be there.
    
    Also re: the comment above that these guys are despised by the women that work for them – not across the board, actually. We have an OWG (old white guy) Dean that is LOVED, behaves impeccably and is inclusive if not woke. We also have an OWG Associate Dean that is not. I believe he called me “high maintenance” the other day for refusing to lend my CV to an effort that is bound to fail. To which I replied “Peak career LOL’s, being a senior female full professor and called “high maintenance” by an OWG in middle management for declining the “opportunity” to do a bunch of work for other people”. I am told he then called me a b**ch for it, when I wasn’t present [but academia right… 3/5 people he said it to tattled, ha ha ha ha].

As I posted on the 2nd day of the cricket test, the decisions against NZ are mounting up. Close decisions when we are bowling are being given not out, forcing us to review, close decisions when we are batting are being given out, forcing us to review. You expect some of both. But not ALL of the decisions ALL of the time. I reckoned that we would see a marginal one against NZ be carried as umps call and so it came to pass with Nicholls.
Yesterdays effort with Young was also special. I listened with dismay as the Indian commentator said “very unlucky for Young, not getting his review in time”. How about very unlucky for Young, the umpire made a dreadful decision with the ball not going to hit another set of stumps, so far did it turn.
Even the TV coverage it looked like it was missing, yet the commentators all yelped “its close!” Seriously? missing by 6 inches is close now? I can tell you if Gavaskar had given out to that, he would have taken his batting partner off the field with him, and there would have been a riot.

  It is way to early to say with any certainty, but from what I’ve seen so far or the Big O:
  * It is more infectious that Delta.
  * It has less impact than Delta (less side effects & hospitalisations etc).
  * It is likely the vaccine will be far less effective than for Delta.
  * It is displacing Delta and other variants.
  
  Based on what I’ve seen so far I think the sooner we get the Big O here, the sooner the pandemic ends. Go hug South Africans.
  
  But, like I said, it is still early days. I am not a doctor. This is not medical advice.
  
  Remember that this is the normal course of viral pandemics – the virus starts off nasty then basically wains over time – normally it’s a two year pandemic (eg. 1918, 1957, 1968,…) but could be lengthened by all the clever people monkeying with it.

R&V is to be a vaccinated passport controlled event where only “safe” people can go surrounded by other “safe” people.

But for some reason a massive number of people who seem to think we need vaccine mandates and passports to protect us don’t seem to think vaccines, vaccine mandates and vaccine passports can protect us.

Can anyone explain how vaccines, vaccine mandates and passports, are going to help in any way at all if they can’t even be relied upon protect a bunch of mainly young people who are not highly represented in covid hospitalisations or deaths?

  Here’s what the aids association says and how we have interpreted the law in relation to other viruses .
  
  “People living with HIV have the same human rights as everyone else, including the right to health, privacy, non-interference from the state and non-discrimination. No one can refuse you a job, housing, medical services or dental services because of your HIV diagnosis. In fact, it is illegal in NZ to discriminate based on HIV status under the Human Rights Act..” (Well that’s been thrown out the window for covid)
  
  “In New Zealand, as long as you’re using condoms every time you have … penetrative sex, you are not legally obligated to disclose your HIV status.” ( So the obligation is about the condom not the virus. It seems with covid they are treating the vaccine as the condom, despite the vaccines questionable efficacy. And therefore you can be infected with covid and go to R&V as long as you’ve had the vaccine . )
  
  “Under New Zealand law, everyone has a legal duty not to endanger the life, health or safety of others. In law, this means that people living with HIV must take ‘reasonable precautions’ to avoid transmitting HIV to sexual partners. ‘Reasonable precautions’ would mean participating in sexual activities that involve a very low risk or no risk masturbation, oral sex and kissing, and using condoms for..(penetrative)… sex.” (So what is a reasonable precaution for covid? With HIV they say oral sex, and kissing is low risk when you have HIV and can be done without disclosure.
  So that means Low Risk covid activities should be able to be done without an mrna vaccine or disclosure. But no.
  Surely an outdoor R&V concert with mostly young healthy people is very low risk because outdoor transmission is low that’s why we are allowed outdoor bbq’s. A high risk activity would be having a long close contact hospital visit in an enclosed room without a mask while you are covid positive .)
  
  “The legal consequences of having an undetectable viral load have not been tested in New Zealand courts. In this case, even though there is no risk of sexual transmission, it is recommended to use condoms with partners who are unaware of your HIV status.”
  
  (So this is where it gets interesting. The vaccine is probably more similar to the drugs that suppress hiv viral load (ARV) . And whether a low viral load is low risk hasn’t been determined in court.
  . The vaccine is similar to ARV because people can’t see that you are taking it. Yet they don’t make you carry a passport to declare whether you have taken your ARV medicine when you go into Rhythm and Vines. They trust that you are keeping yourself well and that you will have a low viral load if you kiss someone. )
  
  Finally the comparison stops because we are restrcting people who dont’ have covid. The aids advice is about people with aids. The aids advice suggests that the requirement is you should take reasonable precaution. For covid is reasonable precaution a mask, being outdoors, that you feel well, that you are not meeting vulnerable people, that you have not been in close contact with other covid cases, or is it only taking the vaccine as per rhythym and vines narrow definition of low risk. With Aids if the activity is low risk – (oral sex with an HIV positive person) there is no requirement for disclosure- but you may not go to rythym and vines without a passport proving you have had a covid vaccine. And you may not go to the Auckland Museum with it’s high cavernous ceilings and open spaces, or sit at an outdoor cafe table .

      Yip Oral sex with an hiv person is stated to be low risk on their website. So use that as a legal benchmark for what would constitute low risk with covid. A person with hiv needs no disclosure and no passport for oral sex but someone with no covid needs and no vaccine is restricted from going to an outdoor cafe.

Not one of the gutless media are going to ask the PM why we didn’t move to Level 1 in the South Island in September when Bloomfield said we could, and why we aren’t doing it now. We can’t trust them to challenge the government on anything, it’s absolutely pathetic and they are really are bought and paid for.

Interested to see that the areas going to traffic light red have been determined at a local body level, and are not entire DHBs.

For instance Wairoa is in the Hawkes Bay DHB and the rest of that DHB is orange.

We saw John Rahm (golf) test positive for covid earlier this year and win the US Open 10 days later. Just watch the NZ Breakers (Basketball) team who have 7/8 members test positive come out in a week or two and play in the Oz series.
How long can they keep up this B/S narrative of a deadly virus?
We just have to open up, let it run and hide the old and vulnerable from risky situations. The rest is just control from the top to hide the fiscal malfeasance, and to cancel any political opposition voices.

The past couple of years have been the worst of my life. Anyone who savours freedom will understand this.

I am now completely over this Covid crisis. I never understood the people who love hiding under their bed (which seems to be most New Zealanders). Life is slipping away. Why waste a second, let alone years?

There was hope that the borders were going to sort of open in May 2022 (with a nonsensical seven day isolation). Now even this easing of restrictions looks likely to be cancelled. It is unbelievable.

How long can this nightmare continue for? Is Cindy going to try to keep the borders shut until the next election?

I want to get out, but I need the borders to open properly. I would then probably come back if National / ACT win the next election.

Alas, I fear that Cindy will win the next election. This shows how low most peoples aspirations are in this country.

Cindy is in essence a vandal. This country is being wrecked. It is a shame, but the majority seem to like it this way.

They are not me…

  There are many beige people on this planet who have led meaningless lives for so long that this “crisis” has been the greatest thing to ever happen to them.
  They never had the balls to do anything important or useful. Now they can wear a mask and scowl at anyone who doesn’t. The mask is their badge of honour. The visual evidence that they are “good” and “virtuous” and that they “care” and are part of the “team”.
  It’s nauseating, horse manure.
  The only good thing is that deep in their own hearts they realise that it is nonsensical virtue signaling. They will always be beige nonentities. No matter how many masks they wear.

I was looking at Robbo over the weekend and this comment may not be popular, but I don’t think these guys are having fun. All the comments from us rightys over the left loving power are of course correct, but to extrapolate that this covid nonsense is a power trip from dear leader and her lackies is im thinking wrong. Robber and lately Adern and Hipkins look tired and over it. I don’t think they can keep going on carry this useless team of amateurs. Every ministry is in tatters. Health, education, police, justice, housing and of course 3 waters. This is a shambles. Crime is skyrocketing, poverty is stubborn at best and inequality is still growing, these guys are under massive pressure and 3 people can’t run an entire state. I’m backing all 3 are done from politics in 3 years. If they get a 3rd term they will step down. They already look over it and it’s going to get worse. If National come put of this mess as a strong team. There political lives are going to go from bad to worse.

  It would be great to see an autopsy performed. Every “covid” case in NZ has been “with” covid. Completely different to “from”. We have the perfect example of the man shot and killed listed as a covid case. There are many thousands of people in NZ who have tested positive for covid. Many will die from various reasons. This doesn’t mean they are covid deaths.
  I despise the NZ media and politicians who have used this statistical manipulation for their personal aims.
  Without a post mortem (which they won’t have) there is no way of knowing that covid caused the death of this man. RIP.

  My view is that those in high risk categories should be taking the vaccine. 80 years old is high risk.
  
  But everyone has to weigh up the risks for their personal situation. eg, a young healthy adult, maybe skip vaccination if you are worried about long term effects.
  
  A friend’s son got really sick after taking the vaccine… and, it was definitely one of the known side-effects of pfizer. Vaccination is a non-zero risk.

This traffic light system is a dog’s breakfast.

We’re going to have people from Red areas travelling to ‘Orange’ and ‘Green’ areas. Doesn’t make sense because you’re exporting high risk to lower risk areas.

And, they’ve made a huge hoohah about events gatherings. Who will know the difference?

All I see is that covid is going to spread regardless of these traffic light settings and these restrictions are going to confuse the crap out of people.
