  But let’s look at how all the USA’s corn and wheat is actually used. Over a third of the USA’s corn – that’s more than 128 million tonnes of the USA’s corn production – is used to make biofuels rather than being used for human consumption.

  Also just in the EU, 3.5 million tonnes of palm oil is used to make biodiesel. That’s almost the amount of sunflower oil coming out of Ukraine and Russia combined.
  
  Conclusion 2: We’re burning food rather than using it to feed people.

Well done this 80 year old woman, now banned from the local swimming pool

An elderly woman has been banned from a swimming pool after she demanded that a male transgender employee left the female locker rooms. GB News has the story.

Julie Jaman raised concerns after “hearing a man’s voice” while taking a shower in the changing rooms of the YMCA Mountain View pool in Washington, U.S.

Ms. Jaman asked the trans worker, Clementine Adams, whether they had a penis, before telling them to “get out”.

Speaking about the incident, Ms. Jaman said: “I saw a man in a woman’s bathing suit watching maybe four or five little girls pulling down their suits in order to use the toilet. I asked if he had a penis and he said it was none of my business. I told that man to ‘get out right now,” she told KIRO.

    HDPA on ZB yesterday mentioned something about menstruation (and some push back from a Ministry or lobby group – sorry only caught the tail end) …. but that me thinking, if one doesn’t have the ability to menstruate (or go through menopause later in the life) i.e. experience the “challenges” that women have to go through day-after-day …. then sorry a bloke wanting to identify as a woman is NOT a woman! Full stop! And that’s not my “bias”, that’s biology speaking. 🙂

        Exactly right Stella. Trans ideology is a logical mess. The problem you raise is directly related to trans activists’ inability to define ‘woman’ in a non-circular way (i.e., a woman is anyone who says they’re one).
        
        I’ve drawn the conclusion that the the word ‘gender’ is at the root of the problem. It doesn’t mean anything coherent. The solution to all of this bollocks is to use the word ‘sex’ to refer to biological categories. There are certain entitlements that should come with being female (privacy from men while undressing, female-only sport and especially female-only gaols. Beyond that, if a man wants to wear a dress and be called Julie, fine.

        I’ve always assumed that feelings are common to humans, while physical experiences will be different depending on sex. A woman may experience the pain of childbirth, but only the childbirth part is female specific. Men can also experience pain, just not from that physical cause.
        
        If a man and a woman both suffer the same injury, say, a broken arm, is it really the case that one experiences less pain that the other?

  Well we now know the jab increases your chances of getting covid so maybe he did. Similar evidence coming out about Paxlovid and the “rebound”. Apparently the both mess with your innate immune system so it can’t identify the ever changing variants. Worse, it pressurises the virus to “escape” creating more variants. A process called Original Antigenic Sin. All warned about a year or more ago.
  Who cares whether he has it or not. I don’t. Though plenty of people have been using a “positve” test to hide out for a week. Especially politicians when they have been under pressure.

    Paxlovid is best described as a 5-day symptom pause button. Viral replication continues, but you feel fine and, in Biden’s case, look around for young girl’s hair to sniff … when you should instead be resting at home. And you’re spot on with the escape comment. The longer a virus has to ‘trial’ variants while the host lives happily, the higher the chances are of an escape variant emerging. So to the ‘pause button’ we can add that Paxlovid users are ‘escape variant factories’. It’s almost as if there is a deliberate harm/depopulation agenda being foisted on us.

Three Strikes Law repealed

Labour, Greens and the Maori Party reckoned the law wasn’t working and wasn’t deterring violent crims from committing crimes.

But unless my maths is very, very wrong, I’d say the law had worked so well over 10 years that 20X fewer crims had ended up with a Strike 2 than than a strike 1, and 30X fewer crims had moved into Strike 3 from Strike 2.

  There’s no need for you to know the woman’s name or the bloke who was beaten up as a 13yo.
  SU claims the latter incident never happened. He can tell his story to Maria Dew QC and see which way the chips fall, but having listened to his former flat mate and in particular her father this morning, I’m guessing he’ll be gone before her report comes out.

    The second is that he did these things when he was a teenager and has stopped as an adult.
    If he had been in the Labour Party, and was still behaving like that today, he would have been promoted.

    The woman has told RNZ Uffindell was an aggressive bully who once pounded on her bedroom door, screaming obscenities, until she fled through her window.
    
    Questions:
    1. If this happened once, what behaviours (of all parties) existed prior to this event? Some people are masters at niggling, and some people, eventually, have just had enough.
    2. Was he the only flatmate that undertook this behaviour (the drinking, smoking and smashing)? That seems to be expected behaviour down most of Castle St, doesn’t it? I mean, if he didn’t burn a couch, how bad could it have been?
    
    Every flat that I’ve been in, if one individual was behaving in a manner that the rest of the flatmates didn’t like, that flatmate would be gone. Similarly, if one individual flatmate didn’t like the rest of the flatmates drinking and smoking dope, then that flatmate was the odd one out, and maybe that’s why they were targeted to get out.

  Since the victim was the victim of a criminal act and because of his young age, as far as I can see he has automatic name suppression with respect to the incident since it would still be theoretically open for charges to be laid. His parents could go to court to assert such name suppression and name various MSM, Kiwiblog, BFD, etc as nominal defendants. Therefore anyone who names the victim does so at his or her legal peril.
  This is a very similar situation to the young naked guy that Darren Hughes chased down Moxham Avenue one night. He was entitled to have his name kept quiet and his connections sought and obtained an ex-parte court order against MSM and Kiwiblog to keep the name suppressed. As far as I can see this asserted a right the victim already had.

    Cant remember, what happened with that Darren Hughes story. I do recall Hughes’ landlady at that time, a Mrs Annette King, MP claimed , because she was a deep sleeper she didnt hear any of the going ons in her house. Perhaps the distressed young man was quietly paid off, by the Labour party? Can anyone remember the outcome of this unfortunate episode?

The graph in the Key vs Arden post would suggest that her popularity is now on an exponential slide which is probably impossible to recover. A greater concern in my view is what this lot might conjure up to remain in power legitimately, when such would have been otherwise previously. Parliament is still supreme in this country.

  Why did she not complain to the police 20 years ago? Would she have been believed? Would anything have been done about it?
  
  She has probably surfaced now because of the publicity. Uffindell is claiming the Kings incident was a one-off and he reformed afterwards. If further evidence emerges showing an ongoing pattern of behaviour after the Kings incident, he loses public trust and confidence.
  
  What I do find odious is the timing of these revelations. If his conduct was unbecoming and so reprehensible to our media, why does it seem it only became so after the National Party conference? Why wasn’t it bad enough for us to be told about it four weeks ago?

  In any case, the independent QC evaluation of the incident should turn up the truth quite easily. After interviewing the woman, her father, the other flatmates and the landlord, she should be able to come to a fairly solid conclusion of what happened.

I believe Chris Luxon can’t turn this into a nightmare for Labour and Jacinda Ardern our Prime Minister.
Chris Luxon has to get Maria Dew to make this enquiry urgent and have a result as quick as possible without taking sides as the damage is probably unrepairable.
I say this because National can turn the table on Labour with the right decision by pointing out the deficiency of Labour inquiry into the sex deviate that worked out of the Prime Minister’s Office which was swept under the carpet to hide the Prime Minister’s involvement.
Honesty and hard decisions will beat a Labour Party objective to smear a rampant National Party.

  Chris Luxon has done well, by acting decisively and by appointing a QC that quashes the “trial by media” circus being played out.
  
  Luxon told Hosking the QC’s review will take two weeks and because the QC is better qualified to investigate (eg compared to “trial by media” or tribal Labour activists on social media & writing columns for the MSM) the outcome should be without dispute.
  
  Although this was all is Sam U’s past as a youngster (and how much should we judge a younger persons actions – well that’s always what the Left say – and that was my view yesterday) the fact is if more allegations are coming out it calls into question Sam U. saying to the MSM yesterday that there was nothing else that was amiss.
  
  Which could very well be the case, but because the allegations last night was backed by the complainants father then let’s have a QC look into all this and presumably interview both Sam U. and the complainant to verify the facts. Rather than have a gleeful “trial by media” circus show which Labour will use to bash National with.

I have some serious misgivings over the whole Uffindell issue, and wonder if he is simply the sacrificial lamb.

You see, National is about to embark on candidate selection for more than sixty electorates around the country. Over the weekend, I met a number of potential candidates, who have been attending preparation sessions. There are some fantastic people amongst them. But now, having seen the shit going down around Sam Uffindell, will some decide that the level of scrutiny he is being exposed to simply isn’t worth it, in order to achieve their political ambitions.

Am I overthinking this, or is this really a not-so-subtle attack on National’s candidate selection process, with the underlying intent of discouraging good people from putting their names forward. If that’s the case, isn’t that a significant attack on the integrity of the electoral process?

The National Party board has some serious challenges ahead of it. There appear to have been process failures around the Uffindell candidacy, not the least of which is Luxon not being told of the candidate’s disclosure of the school incident. That is unacceptable, and I’m sure Helen Clark or John Key would have raised merry hell had their own party not complied with the “no surprises” policy. Sylvia Wood needs to exert her authority as the newly-elected president, and figuratively bang heads together if process is not followed.

As it stands, it’s an unholy mess. However there’s one saving grace; the election is a year away, the economy and the Labour Party are still in disarray, and there’s time to ensure that everything is done according to Hoyle. But mistakes need to be eliminated, from yesterday forward.

I hope that not too many candidates are deterred from putting their names forward. Democracy at electorate level is stronger when there are robust candidate selections, and the party membership gets to choose from a suite of candidates rather than have an uncontested selection, other than for sitting MP’s.

A final thought. The media has taken up the Uffindell issue with vigour. Let’s hope that those who are most vigorously pursuing him have no skeletons in their own closets.

  TS – the good thing about all this though if candidates have skeletons in their past then let it be vetted before they are selected, otherwise National gets bashed again later via a “trial by media” firestorm and gleeful Labour Party (and their activists).
  
  And it’s not just National, this applies to all parties.
  
  And whilst the focus is currently on National, I think one could be sure there are many Labour MP’s with “skeletons in their closets” and have had questionable past lives before entering politics (eg as bullies) – both male and female (I can think of some that I’ve encountered), plus look at the behavior of some of their Ministers – they way they are behaving now suggests they were aggressive in the past (a leopard doesn’t change its spots etc).

  Not sure if you are over thinking but your suggested outcome makes sense. If you compare National MPs (and candidates) to their Labour candidates, there is a stark contrast. For most Labour MPs (and even more so Ministers), this will be the highest paid job they will ever have. Think Poto Williams.
  
  For National MPs, they have mostly have had successful careers and if they enter as a backbench MP, many of them will be taking a pay cut. If they have anything remotely concerning hiding in their closet they could be risking everything.

On the bright side, and on the proviso that everything is true about this chap, and it sounds like it probably is true, and there is likely more to come… where there’s smoke and all that… So perhaps this can be seen as a pretty good thing in the longer term?
  
  Firstly, the MSM have actually done Nationals job for them by weeding this bad nut out.
  
  Second, yes, it may have shown up the processes used by national in their selection process etc, but we’re all humans and we all make mistakes. It’s part of how we learn, fast feedback is good.
  
  Viewed from a competitive point of view, it is a competitive selection right?! then I don’t see how it will deter other candidates, in fact quite the opposite…

    All nominations for all electorates go to head office for vetting. Once they are processed, HO comes back with a list of suitable candidates and the local electorate then conducts pre-selection (if there are more than five nominees) and kicks off the final selection process. The local selection committee then takes over, and the candidate is chosen when someone gets a majority of the 60 delegate votes. Head Office has an observer in place to ensure that everything is done in strict accordance with the rules, but has no input into the final selection, unless it is a very small electorate without enough local members to convene a panel of delegates.

  A committee can have a robust selection system, but it can still be compromised by ambitious people who want to glide over past indiscretions.
  People have long memories and many of those anonymous people will gleefully finally “get their own back” by bringing down in public their past (alleged) tormentor.

    I suspect part of the problem is that people with real personality problems don’t know they have them. In their minds, everything they do is right, or justified by the much worse behaviour of others.
    
    Any Party can only rely on what those people disclose about themselves and on whoever they can find who “knows” the person. But the worst people often have very split behaviour – fantastic towards their equals or betters, abysmal when they think they can get away with it.   Or … no one is above the law and this was a legal procedure to uncover evidence, signed off by a Federal judge, who as it turns out was a Trump appointee.
  
  My advice is that we should all wait to see what comes of this search before we rush to paint Trump as a martyr or a criminal.
  
  What is certain is that Trump now has a copy of the search warrant and he is free to publish that. So if this was indeed a vexatious search then he can easily show that.

      That was in response to a comment saying the FBI raid was an indication the Dems were running scared of Trump. So read it in context. What I was saying was that the other commenter was drawing the wrong common sense interpretation of the day’s events.
      
      And I stand by that comment … the obvious common sense inference from an FBI raid on anyone’s house is that that person has done something criminal. The Fed’s conviction rate is >95%. They don’t take long-shot cases. And given Trump is an ex-POTUS they will have been scrupulous about dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s, so I expect that’s doubly so in this case.

      1) Why hasn’t be published the search warrant? That would show what laws were alleged to have been broken, what was being searched for, and where in the property they were allowed to search.
      2) Why haven’t Trump’s lawyers filed an injunction today? Instead of spouting wild conspiracy theories.
      
      I’m watching what people *do*, not what they say on Fox News. And so far today I haven’t seen the actions I’d expect a wrongfully accused person to take.

    My advice for people like her and Baker now would be around reputational damage control. What would I do?

    Second, and I think this is probably impossible for these narsassistic experts, is to acknowledge they were wrong and apologize to the people of New Zealand for the damage they have helped create.

    Given the FBI got a warrant then it seems clear that the information in question was classified. Hard to get a Federal judge to sign off on probable cause that crimes have/are being committed if it’s all over a box of newspaper clippings.
    
    Also the FBI team who did the search are from the Counter-Intelligence division. So that says the documents they were looking for had something to do with national security.

    No, it was an Obama appointed Federal judge.
    He was a Federal Prosecutor for years before quitting and then taking on Jeffrey Epstein to protect his employees after Epstein was let off (i.e. to ensure those employees didn’t cut a deal). Obama then appointed him to the Federal benches.
    
    Not the kind of judge that I would have chosen to use because he is frankly tarnished by his previous associations and a no-knock warrant on a former President and probable future candidate should be handled with absolute care and not have anything to discredit it.         If that were truthfully the case then the FBI wouldn’t have been able to get a search warrant.
        
        Or if they had got a search warrant, by mis-representing the situation to a Federal judge, then today:
        (a) Trump’s lawyers would be in Court injuncting the search, and
        (b) some FBI agents would be being sacked.
        
        Neither of those things appear to be happening, so I’m going to say “Trump asked the FBI to come and look” isn’t what happened.

    I can’t see how the FBI could get a Federal judge to sign a warrant to search for declassified documents. Let alone to search an ex-President’s house for them. So the facts on the ground don’t align with what you’re saying/hoping.
    
    And reputable media stories of the January 2022 episode of Trump having classified docs at M-A-L said they were such high classifications that their titles couldn’t even be listed on an inventory, let alone their contents. So clearly there’s form for having important national security documents at M-A-L.

    Same with me twenty years ago when I had a hip replacement at Bangkok.
    I realized I hadn’t had a pee for quite some time and mentioned this to the nurse. She poked around in my stomach area and said my bladder was full. Don’t go away, I’ll be back. I struggled and strained, but nothing happened and presently she was back with a bag on the end of a tube which she fed up through my dick & for a few days that’s what I used.
    I don’t mind saying a bloke could get used to the having a portable pissoir.
    I then noticed half the patients seemed to have them down at the hospital Starbucks.

Another day another ram raid. The photograph says the city is being plagued by “Ram – Raiding youths” but the ram raider in the article facing court is 20 years old. That is an adult! Name suppression isn’t working. We need to name these people in the media when they are arrested. Will he even be named in the media after the court case. How long will the case take. It is not a complicated mystery case. They don’t have youth name suppression. The media were happy to run Mr Polkinghorne’s personal details through the media as a murder suspect when there was no case, he wasn’t even arrested and in fact never was.

A Snap Election would be a disaster!

It has been spoken in the Freedom Movement that we “need a snap election”. This would be the worst thing possible now in the current political climate in my view. This would gift the Globalist in the shape of the incumbent National Coalition Govt at least three more years in power (If we get or see another genuine election in our nation that is). Labour and National are two wings on the same global serving political bird. Luxon could very well be worse than what we have. Our minor parties need time to grow and unite, and there is no way that they could contest a snap election in the current shape. Some have predicted the Govt might call a snap election as a Globalist strategy; but how bad it would be and look and be if any of our Freedom Groups pushed for it…and got it. The Govt would then play the virtue card in saying “We gave the people what they wanted” and the nation would be SHAFTED! I hope any freedom group thinking a snap election to be a good idea will seriously reconsider and decry such a notion.

@Maggy… Our childrens future prospects are being compromised big time. Imagine young people trying to plan a career which includes overseas experience.
Many parents are very aware of this. Being able to speak a bit of maori isn’t going to be any use to them. 20% of the curriculum is maori orientated now I gather. Fables/words/language/edited history etc.

  Indeed. However a young New Zealander who is proficient in German, Spanish, Japanese, or Mandarin, and who has other bankable skills, will see doors open around the world.
  
  Learning Maori will only be beneficial if you:
  
  – are a socialist and want to impress your mates; or
  
  – you intend to have a career working with Maori and visiting marae (and nothing wrong with that at all); or
  
  – you want a career in the New Zealand Public Service (although I can see that fad wearing off after a while.
  
  Any other life plans – learn a language that will open doors globally.

  If it’s 20%, that is really troubling. I spoke at length with a local in the Maldives and they run five equally weighted subjects, two of which are Islamic Studies and the Koran. That’s 40%. I guess if you add CRT and climate change propaganda to the 20% Maori stuff we will be at similar levels of indoctrination.

Last May the New York Times reported. ““Horrible History: Mass Grave of Indigenous Children Reported in Canada,” which “Prime Minister Justin Trudeau immediately referred to “a dark and shameful chapter” in Canadian history.”

But apparently there are questions. The mass grave claims is based on the work of a researcher who had done ground surveillance and radar of depressions and disturbances to soil in an apple orchard near the school not exhumed remains. The researcher has now reminded us that they were only “probable deaths” .

Furthermore. “A community spokesperson says the researchers full report “cannot” be released to the media” ??

((So why wasn’t this turned immediately over to police to investigate if the initial research found evidence of mass graves, not wait for a researcher to decide if she will go further? Why were harrowing statements from media, politicians and celebrities made before the facts were verified by authorities. )

Many months later it still doesn’t look like they have searched for any remains.

  If Liz Wheeler is right then the FBI wouldn’t have been able to get a warrant.
  
  One of the key tests for getting a warrant is whether there are other means (requests, negotiation, subpoenas) to get the information without requiring a search. The FBI’s affidavit to obtain the search warrant would have had to set out their reasons and evidence for not being able to take those other avenues.
  
  Steve … my observation is that the commentators on Fox News and other Trump-friendly media are (intentionally?) taking advantage of their audiences’ lack of knowledge of legal procedure and detail.

  The FBI confiscated Congressman Scott Perry’s cellphone today so by the looks of it I was right with my initial belief that the Government Document reason was just an excuse to get in and what they were really looking for was Jan 6 evidence. What a surprise!
  
  I wonder who the agent in charge of the operation was? Was it the same as the Jan 6 investigation?

    Again, that is a huge leap to connect that all together, without a single shred of evidence.
    
    As your questions tacitly admit, you don’t know who is involved in either investigation and would like it to be the same.
    
    The DoJ has not even confirmed publicly that it is moving to prosecute political figures like Perry or Trump. Perhaps if the cell phone search warrant is true, that’s the very first indicator of such moves. Indeed, the article I linked to makes clear that the DoJ has not confirmed such actions yet.
    
    Second, maybe Scott Perry shouldn’t sign off his texts about overthrowing an election with his full name at the end!
    
    If Trump took classified security or intel reports relating to Jan 6 and the illegal election overthrow effort, then that is his fault for linking both investigations together!
    
    But still, that’s no proof of any devious ploy by the feds.

Anybody follow Shihad at all? Not my sort of stuff, I’ve heard of them but that’s it. Just wondering what on earth the direction is they seem to be going down now.

I had an ad pop up on Facebook for their new tour, which is called “This Is The Sound of an Empire Falling” and features (I think) a statue of Captain Cook being sprayed with graffiti. Seems the inference is pretty plain.

Oh, and this is being sponsored by Vodafone. Figures.

Looks like Shihad and Vodafone are both making their feelings known about those of us who are proud of our English heritage. They obviously feel that they would be better off without us, and if that’s the case I’m happy to oblige by never darkening their doors with my filthy lucre.

  Refreshing to see someone – FINALLY – say what we all think, in black and white.
  
  In my honest opinion, the way Trevor Mallard has conducted himself … he has shown himself to be nothing short of a bully.
  
  There was all the stuff about the parliamentary staffer and, more recently, there was his utterly embarrassing antics during the anti-mandate protest outside Parliament with the loudspeakers and water sprinklers.
  
  But what has Labour done about it? Absolutely nothing.
  
  Labour’s had numerous opportunities to call him out for being a bully but it has refused time and time again. As I say, it’s handling of Mallard has been shameful.

  This on top of the social media fiasco re Luxon’s holiday in Hawaii suggests that he needs to get some other staff who know what they are doing.
  Sheeesh – am starting to feel sorry for the guy being surrounded by people who don’t know what they are doing.
  Contrast this with the PM’s army of professional enablers and protectors. No contest.

Kiwisaver investors lost an average 10.6 per cent on their funds in the year ended June, Morningstar reports.

The amount in Kiwisaver funds dropped almost $5 billion in the three months to June 30.

Was the rental actually denied. The staff member asked for certification the dog was a service dog he refused to provide that. The staff member then went to get the managers help and Paul walked out not waiting. Seems Paul could provided the details and got the car, or talked to the manager and got the car

Pakistan has been devastated by flash floods that began in June and have since killed more than 500 people. Close to 50,000 houses have been either been damaged or flattened so far, displacing thousands of people.

Coverage on New Zealand’s flagship news bulletin, One News? None. Not a peep.

What a sad, sorry joke our news programs are.

  Will look forward to seeing similar for all the other candidates in the Invercargill mayoral election.
  There are rules about public electioneering .
  Second item was about Long Covid.

And another side hustle is he sells off iwi’s RfR (first right of refusal) whenua Settlement that have right that can extend up to 170 years to then oneself that ‘right’ to external parties for development partnerships via his influence in Panuku! $850m worth in one deal with a company called Ockham!
