Six things I love about the US
January 31st, 2004 at 3:30 am by David Farrar1) Pitchers of beer for only $3.00 (cooked breakfasts also for $3.00)
2) Sane city planners who have left enough room for wide roads, and future extensions so that traffic jams are minimal
3) If you order a soft drink in a restaurant they will continuously refill it for no extra cost
4) Ice Hockey!!!
5) That everyone you talk to asks about and loves your accent
6) The friendly restaurant staff!

Great site! I’m into it time after time and it’s been extremely productive.

There is a Hooters in my city. They are going to get into the airline business now.

As a resident of Jacksonville, I’m glad you enjoyed your stay here. Would’ve liked to have heard the lecture. I agree with your comments on the nuclear ban (a defeat for common sense if ever there was one) and on the city center. The city has been trying for years to revive it. Progress has been slow.
Looks like the Hooter’s mystique works for Kiwis, too. Hooter’s is a Florida institution. We have three of the restaurants here. Was it in downtown, Southside (the consensus favorite among locals), or at the beach?

A hooters airline would be very interesting.
It was the downtown hooters – didn’t get to visit the others. I heard the beach one was also very good.
Florida rocks. I could happily live there.
