Yawn – another civil war threat
August 26th, 2004 at 10:19 am by David FarrarIs there some prize for the idiot who can make the most outraegous claim to a select committee?
Margaret Mutu is trying to win, claiming the foreshore legislation “could unleash civil war on the scale of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict“.
It is rather sad that a so called academic has so little substance in their submission, they have to rely on threats instead of rational persuasion.
Mutu can believe that the “Gods” gifted her the foreshore, but they failed to tell me about it, so until she can get proof she can go jump. Perhaps the “Gods” can fund her state salary also.

Agreed. I’d rather we just ignored her mad rantings, dismissing them as bullshit. She’s a bloated activist who’s clearly so short on substance she needs to rely on style. Maybe she has visions of grandeur? Sorry Margaret, you ain’t no Nelson Mandela.

Good God!!! I am in absolute agreement with Rob Davies. This lady comes from the region in which I was brought up. I think the locals have got more brains than she has.

Well, I live in the Far North and she has as much support up here as a recent immigrant to this region – Sue Bradford; i.e. bugger all.

I can’t deny having a vent yesterday about this tripe, but I agree, critism is akin to validation. We shouldn’t bother – but damn it pisses me off!!

The poor Far North, Sue Bradford probably has her eye on securing an enduring benefit when she looses her Wellington “job” next year.
As for Mutu, bring it on sweetheart, quite frankly I’d enjoy the target practice.

We’re not the only ones. Te Aupouri’s Shane Jones said this in response to Mutu’s nonsense:
“It is totally unacceptable that a sinecured academic should be speaking in this vein in public. God knows what she is teaching the rangatahi [youth] if this is what she is spouting in public.
“It is a gross distortion and devaluation of the situation in the Middle East and her desire to incite Maori and Pakeha to look towards the Middle East as a model for New Zealand is pathetic.
“Her rhetoric does not represent the views of Far Northern iwi.The logical conclusion of what she is saying is that she expects the rangatahi to start strapping on explosives and blowing themselves up.”
Nice to see her compatriots distance themselves from her racist rhetoric.

I see My Right has looked at the Anti terrorism legislation. I suggest use it or lose it. The good professor and her Vice Chancellor should be summonsed to a meeting with a senior police officer. A fiendly meeting of course.

Ha,
what a shame that we can’t borrow the Japan Earth Simulator (supercomputer) for a few hours and model New Zealand from 1800 onwards as it would be if Europeans had *not* colonized NZ.
Honestly not wanting to be racist here but does anyone think that the outcome would be maori-only NZ being a Pacific paradise? I suspect that the best case outcome would be a nation like Tonga or Samoa, the worst case something like Somalia.
of course, Margaret may quite like NZ to be reduced to the level of your average African nation, hence the comments. I’m just off out to purchase my Apache attack helicopter (from Mark Thatcher)…
