Facebook is evil Add this story to Scoopit!.

Facebook is evil.  There are no other words for it.  It is far too addictive.  Any moment now I await the Greens wanting to ban it for being unhealthy.

I’ve only been on for a week and every day I spend more time on it.  Someone tell me this will wear off after a while.

For those interested, my Facebook page is here.   The third party applications are what seems to make this more of a killer site than the others.

I’ve also got a less frequently used Bebo page and an almost never used My Space page.

Personally I think Bebo is the most addictive of them all. Its the most user friendly and intutiive of the bunch. I think facebook shot themselves int he foot when the let third party apps be used, as this has hurt its usability significantly.

IF one more person zombie attacks me I will lose it!

I have to agree. My thesis hasn’t started very quickly, and I think I know why. Also both Nandor and Metiria have facebook accounts – take that as you will.

I think that you have more to worry about if Jim Anderton decides it’s corrupting the youth…

What I really want is an RSS feed of the homepage “News Feed”.

That way I can just look at the feed every so often instead of having to check the homepage for changes all the time.

An RSS feed for all the things they send out emails for would be nice too.

    I’m writing a thesis too. Anything’s more interesting – even whoar.co.nz ;) . What’s your topic? Science here.

MySpace has a blogging function, in fact they may all do. There’s also Windows Live Spaces.

I believe that facebook will quickly become the next most cost effective marketing tactic (online) for kiwi’s after Google.

Just look how they have cut through and created active social networks in countries where myspace could not- like here in NZ. There are something like 1.3 million Norwegians on facebook. This is interesting as NZ and Norway are similar in a lot of ways, such as population and land mass.

Facebook also recently made their first acquisition when they purchased parakey.com – an online operating system. Software as a service is the future in my opinion, and what better way to break microsofts domination than building the largest active social network that the world has ever seen as your key marketing tactic?

I think that facebook could be the answer that Google are looking for…………I expect that we will see a buyout sooner than later. However, in a lot of ways I hope the guys at facebook hold strong, then we could see a competitor for google which would be positive.
