Paul Quinn wins in Hutt South Add this story to Scoopit!.

Congratulations to Paul Quinn, who has won the Hutt South nomination for National.

Paul will be a strong contender (but amongst many) for the List also.

Paul is an experienced company director and principal of his own strategic planning and commercial advisory services company.

He is most well known probably as a former Captain of the NZ Maori and Wellington rugby teams. Paul is also a current board member of the NZ Rugby Football Union.

And Labour will put up a school teacher unionist who likes to throw the biff.

  2. Southern Raider (1,317) Says:

Its a pity the MSM don’t do a seat by seat comparison in a similar way they do before big rubgy tests. On paper its starting to get embarrasing having such a well skilled backline and forward pack.

  3. dad4justice (7,339) Says:

Paul Quinn was an extremely good rugby player and I wish him all the best in his political career.

  4. JSF2008 (422) Says:

GOOD ON YOU MATE, you seem to be a real New Zealander. CHEERS

  5. Buggerlugs (1,609) Says:

God help us. He’s an arrogant twat. I love rugby, and I love Maori rugby more than anything apart from my current club team, but Quinn is poison.

  6. Jack5 (2,486) Says:

The big question is did Quinn vote to keep Henry as All Blacks coach. Make him come clean.

  7. Redbaiter (13,197) Says:

“I love rugby, and I love Maori rugby more than anything apart from……”

So like Paul Quinn, you think its a good idea to divide sports teams on a racial basis, and to appoint positions within those teams also on a racial basis?

  8. Mike (162) Says:

I hope he adds too the numnbres down at the womens refuge after every all baclsk loss, like every good kiwi male aught too

[DPF: And that is 20 demerits. Just because some rugby fans are violent thugs is no excuse to link Quinn to that]

  9. markg (7) Says:

Mike that is completely disgusting bullshit.

  10. Mike (162) Says:

oh sorry just trying to get into character ya know, or did i need to chuck in a few “WHITE-HETRO-SEXUAL-NORMAL-MALES” too fully” pull of the JSF2008?

But dont pretend the stats arent there

  11. dad4justice (7,339) Says:

Mike from trade me opinion, recent studies of violence indicate that the perpetrators of domestic violence are equal in numbers from both genders. What is it with you cowardly wimps who blame men for everything because your spiteful feminist agenda puts the male species in a category that all men are wife beaters and rapists.
Your type make me vomit and I reckon you should be used as tackling and rucking practice for the All Blacks until you are cleansed from your twisted sister stinking thinking.

  12. Paul (1,314) Says:

“Monty – And Labour will put up a school teacher unionist who likes to throw the biff.”

Whom would be different from Tau Heanare how?

“Redbaiter – So like Paul Quinn, you think its a good idea to divide sports teams on a racial basis”

They are not divided and no team has ‘quotas’ etc unlike South Africa. If they want to have a team then fine, Olympic Football in wellington is all about Greeks. You just can’t stroll into any RSA you choose, or Business Club on Lambton Quay.

Nice bait, it’s just so dumb.

“real New Zealander” Ah the penny drops you are Don Brash- that would explain the stupidity and the anger.

  13. Paul (1,314) Says:

    Dad

“recent studies of violence indicate” and these would be the fictional stats of the L Ron Hubbard variety? Men are the far greatest number of perpetrators of violence in the house and you know that. But that aside, because they are the greatest number – not all are rapists etc, nice try at primary school logic.

The vomit could be because you are blooging too early in the morning. “stinking thinking” Good song by the Happy Mondays, get a copy will make you very happy with it’s bass line

  14. dad4justice (7,339) Says:

Grow up Paul you weirdo creep. You are a disgrace to manhood you twisted and pitiful excuse of a human being.

    D4J:

Seeing as this is a thread about National candidates… I note you’ve retracted your allegations about Roger Payne here.

So you now say this isn’t true:

Now Roger was assured in 2002 that Connell would be removed as an MP after he raised this serious issue. The party was warned by intelligent concerned blue thinkers that they should move quickly to call a by –election in Rakaia. It would have been a golden opportunity for them to demonstrate that it is rebuilding with people of integrity and credibility. But Bill didn’t understand the implications and consequences of Connell. He has since learnt the hard way what a liability the snake is .

Now before you half-cocked dimwits start on me again you must understand that Roger was assured by Senior National members that his standing for the other party would not prejudice or hinder his acceptance as the National candidate for Rakaia. I mean to say they helped finance his campaign to that other party, as Connell’s term in office was only meant to be temporary. Surely this must silence you bent blue boys as Connell’s actions have shown how right we were about this corrupt cretin.

Do let me know when you want some more egg on your face.

You were very sure of yourself. What’s changed?

    Feminist stats are never there…

  17. dad4justice (7,339) Says:

Oh POC the kiwiblog detective. I thought this thread was about Paul Quinn. Oh that’s right your a boss on here. All my comments relating to Roger Payne were totally inappropriate and out of order . The day I answer to a anonymous internet blow hard is the day I stop breathing. I made a mistake and apologized . Ever made a mistake in your life POC. Don’t answer and keep on the topic and get off my tail !!

  20. Ross Miller (1,481) Says:

Well done D4J … it takes a degree of guts to put your hand up, admit you were wrong and say sorry. Oh that we might ever see our Socialist ‘friends’ do the same … and pigs might fly too.

  21. pdm (838) Says:

Buggerlugs I tend to agree with your 10.49pm post yesterday which I have just seen.

Quinn would be a good mate for Shane Jones – both have the unfortunate knack of getting right up my nose with their `I know best ‘ attitudes. I do not see Quinn as a good team player, in fact as I recall he was very much for himself on the rugby field as well.

National must have better candidates waiting in the wings surely.

  22. strategist (5) Says:

Quinn played a key role in the Ngati Awa team that negotiated a $52 million Treaty settlement with the Crown several years ago.

Firing bullets into your own ranks again, D4J? I only asked seeing as you claimed (several times) to be privy to information that others here weren’t. You’re overly-sensitive about it, fine. As I pointed out, my post isn’t off-topic, as this thread lends itself to a discussion about National candidates generally.

  24. Buggerlugs (1,609) Says:

pdm – dead right. I met shane jones after hearing a lot of good things about him and was quite taken aback by the reality. Quinn is ‘me me me’. He’s another Winston Peters without the ersatz gravitas.
    PS Redbaiter – don’t be a cock.
