Sorry really needed to be Rachel Hunter in that shower to make the ad work

  2. toad (1907) Says:

Oh well, I guess if you tell a lie often enough…

The Household Energy Efficiency Standard does not restrict shower flows to 6 litres of water an hour. This is just one option (the lazy one) for meeting the standard in new houses or renovations.

  3. adc (437) Says:

sad ad… why not get the guys who did the CTU ads to do a decent one?

Anyway, I thought they backed down on the 6l/min thing, and were instead looking to set a max cylinder size of 180l (equally if not more stupid).

Nanny state will come & film you having a shower!

  5. burt (4047) Says:

If I had done that add it would have had some wickedly sexy woman holding the shower head pointing the strong stream of water in such a way as to get the maximum pleasure from the experience….

The glove would have been green & red and after the water flow was cut back she would have given up on her shower and grabbed a vibrator instead…

Next scene, a rubbish bin full of used batteries being dumped into a landfill – the unintended consequences of f##king with the simple pleasures in life……

  6. toad (1907) Says:

Oops, I meant it “does not restrict shower flows to 6 litres a minute. Easy slip up to make.

f##king IS a simple pleasures in life.

Yeah, and you believe Helen can be trusted to keep her word? I guess you also believed that she would never bring in anti-smacking legislation because to do so would defy “human nature”. It’s amazing how quickly she can change her mind.

  9. Tuglatonic (24) Says:

I live in Arthur’s Pass and we get 5m of rain a year. With that much rain a year, conservation of water is not an issue. Nevertheless, the nanny state in the form of the local council (Stupidity and sloth: Thy name is Selwyn District Council!!) has decided to institute a water conservation program and install water meters and charge us on usage. Now our local supply is all gravity fed and there is no variable cost of delivery so this can only be seen as one lame revenue grab masquerading as conservation.

This is the same Council that when repeatedly asked to help us with resource recovery and recycling said no, we are too far away and it would be too hard to figure out how to do it. So we organized it ourselves and lame fucks wanted to take credit for it.

Heard on Newstalk ZB a few nights ago …

Kerre Woodham stating that she has taken more baths in the past few weeks than in the previous few years, just to piss off the Greens (her exact words).

Childish? Yes. Pointless? Absolutely. But this is what happens when you try to tell people that they damn well WILL do this, or WILL NOT do that.

And I’ve had more than my fair share of showers recently, just to make the point. I get annoyed because I’m on tank water, and have NEVER had to buy water in, so who the hell are they to tell me what do with MY water?!

  11. Sam (365) Says:

That’s a pretty lame effort – that dribble was hardly 6L/min for a start, and it is dogwhistlepoltics anyway, to quote one of a range of options being explored in a consultation report as being government policy intention… Will you be applying this standard of criticism (reporting investigated solutions as upcoming policy) to the National-led Government next week? I know they will at the Stranded (if it should continue to exist), but I do expect higher level of debate from this side of the spectrum…

From a production side, the grumpy actor doesn’t actually inspire much sympathy either – I’d not only cut his supply, but turn it cold as well… that’s sure to help us meet out KP commitments ;)

  12. Short Shriveled and Slightly to the Left (419) Says:

funny thing about that as is that the shower looks like it was using less than 6 litres per minute BEFORE the dreaded red gloved hand cut the shower down to a dribble
so what is the point of this ad??? That 6 litres per minute is more than enough?

  13. Sam (365) Says:

That’s absolutely correct Graham – and Kerre also buys her water supply – so she is welcome to refill her pool every day too if she so wishes…

  14. burt (4047) Says:

    graham

People who moved in certain social circles in Welly circa mid 1990’s would have very fond memories of Kerre Woodham taking a bath in the middle of a lounge at a party.

  15. llew (1522) Says:

And I’ve had more than my fair share of showers recently, just to make the point. I get annoyed because I’m on tank water, and have NEVER had to buy water in, so who the hell are they to tell me what do with MY water?!

Er… that’ll really be telling ‘em when you use up your whole tank just to spite them. But yeah, if you’re on tank or bore (or both like me), I would expect to choose myself how fast or slow it gets used.

  16. first time caller (294) Says:

    Fantastic ad!

I’m not letting those buggars near my shower

  17. PaulD (28) Says:

Sam’s already beaten me to it, that shower looks like it would pass as it is. Before moaning about 6lpm get a bucket and measure your current shower.

  18. Johnboy (2263) Says:

Any chance of a video of Sarah Palin in the shower.
Now that would definitly get my attention!
( don’t any of you come up with one of either Helen, Jeanette or Sue Bradford as a substitue for Sarah either).

  19. Banana Llama (700) Says:

But guys we have to save water, it’s not like 70% of the globe is water! Before you know it we will be running out of Oxygen too, those International bankers are probably stealing it.

Vote greens! The party of one child policy.

  20. side show bob (2210) Says:

Toad “the household energy efficiency standard does not restrict shower flows ….”, yeah that’s right Toad but I would bet my last dollar the bastards with help from the Melons and the Liarbore scum would restrict flows if they thought they could get away with it.

  21. adc (437) Says:

    ross

I do believe Helen can be trusted…

to be as nasty as possible, to cling to power no matter what. to be as expedient with the truth as necessary. Quite reliable on those counts.
