So Wira Gardiner didn’t even make the board. That is really good as he was partying with Labour during the last term.
Some of the Northern so called experts will have egg on their face with the success of Kate Hazlett from the south.
Southern electorates are the hard core of National. When things get tough they stay with the ship.
    Well done Kate !

Judy represents the Gold standard of what a President should be -out of the media spotlight, in the background in a support role. There is only room for one Leader and that is John Key. As for Wira Gardner he would have been an asset except for one thing – he involved Michelle Boag in his campaign. If he had not involved her and restricted himself to a Board position he might have made it. But going for President there was a risk that dreadful woman would have made her way back using him as her proxy.

Is he any relation to Douglas Goodfellow, does anybody know?

Hat-tip to WhaleOil – what happened to the big tipster and his inside running.

According to WhaleOil, this fellow Goodfellow is no precisely a dynamo and would make a mediocre president.
Just what the spineless National Party needs.

[DPF: Good to see you quote Whale Oil as an authority. I trust you will do so regularly!]

Whale Oil made a bit of a fool of himself, especially with his comments about Kate Hazlett.
At times I wonder whether some of the pundits etc get out of their ivory towers of Auckland/Wellington and see what goes on in the provinces.
Remember, provincial New Zealand is National’s heartland. Auckland will come and go, just by its widely diverse population.

I dunno about that. He picked all five elected board members, though he got the eventual president wrong.
