I suspect that promises of tax cuts will magically appear a few days before the PM announces an election date.

Don’t you realise that money is required for Hui and Koha consultations, Bonus money for enlisting names on fraudulent polytech courses,Prime ministerial world travel,compensation for providing insufficient comfort for guests in prisons,Housing,health attention and dole for life and legal aid for illegal immigrants,bulk money for whanau based health providers,and for special people global hip hop tours. The only restrictions seem to be on TVNZ.wine at company luncheons not to cost more than sixty dollars a bottle and wages not to exceed $800,000allowing for annual increments of 100%

Hmm that would wipe my student loan balance with studylink and a lot of the other student debt quite nicely. But oops I forgot. I enrolled in a legitimate tertiary couse so they probably won’t now will they?

$95 a week tax cut for families on income of $25000 to $45000 by 2007 uder labours ‘Working Families’ package
No cuts for pasty faced Yuppies and Dinks like you , boo hoo.

ztev has just demonstrated how out of touch he is with..well, pretty much everybody. A family with an income of $45,001 would not consider themselves yuppies, I sure as hell dont. Why are across-the-board tax cuts called “tax cuts for the rich”, whereas tax cuts inversly proportional to income (with a cap at a less than wealthy level) arent called “tax cuts for the poor”?

I suepect that the rejection of tax cuts now is a ploy to prick National’s balloon pre-election. What will National’s strategy be when, with ten weeks to go until the 05 election, Cullen suddenly about-faces and announces a range of carefully targeted tax cuts? This would remove the central plank of National’s election campaign, and leave them struggling for traction.

$95 pw was the maximum, it tapers off up to $70,000 per family, what was it you were saying about ‘out of touch’.
Yuppies and Dinks dont need, deserve, tax cuts, just cut your latte intake. At one cafe I pass every week, the Maserati’s, Touaregs, jostle for parking to get a caffeine fix, then again try living in Oz the tax rates are even higher, maybe try getting over it !!

Ever thought that those people that drive the Maserati’s, Touaregs and even Cayennes drive them because they have earnt it, worked for it and probably created more than one job for someone else on the way? Would be good to see you guys lose the jealousy thing and get off your arses and create some real wealth for yourselves and others for a change instead of bleating about (and bleeding) those that have.

ztev, you really are bitter about your lot in life. Finacially a tax cut would not make any difference to my day to day life, its the equity and principle of the matter.

Oh, and Touaregs are sooo pedestrian, a C55 AMG (I just wish it was supercharged!) in black is better bang for buck.

ztev you are out of touch, even $70000 isnt yuppie territory. Consider that with both parents working, more common nowadays by the way, each would only have to be earning $35k, hardly making them yuppies. The people you are talking about with Mazzas and Tauregs, could very well be yuppies, but they just as likely are over 50.

Also, do you know how many lattes you could buy with $95? Thirty really bad ones.

And WTF are you going on about people “deserving” tax cuts. WTF do poor people do to deserve them? Breathe? By your reckoning, the amount which any person “deserves” a tax cut is inversly proportional to the amount they pay. You pay $10k tax? Here have $5k back, NEXT! Oh, you pay $20 in taxes? Piss off yuppie!

ps Ring 0800 774 004 , to see if you can get a tax cut, no need to let anybody know , wink wink
but there are a lot of households with both parents working getting under $50,000. And look at ACTS poll rating to see how long you will hold your breath for a tax cut of $95 pw if you dont qualify for labours cuts
