How did the media predictions go?

The NZ Herald, Dominion Post, and The Press all helpfully made predicitions on portfolios this morning. So how did each go?

NZ Herald

* police to Phil Goff – wrong went to King
* Mallard may be named the new Health Minister – wrong went to Hodgson
* Goff may also get an associate finance job – right
* Hodgson may get a role in education – wrong
* Maori Affairs Minister Parekura Horomia is nevertheless expected to keep his job – right
* Maharey may get the economic development job – wrong went to Mallard
* Parker is tipped for Attorney-General – right
* Remaining executive positions outside the Cabinet, expected to remain at seven – wrong went to eight
* Rotorua MP Steve Chadwick is expected to win a spot as a minister outside the Cabinet – wrong
* as is list MP Winnie Laban – right
* Mahara Okeroa is considered another likely winner – right
* Associate Transport Minister Harry Duynhoven is likely to keep his job – right
* Labour chief whip Jill Pettis could be another contender – wrong
* Mita Ririnui is unlikely to be returned to the Executive – wrong
* Dover Samuels’ position is uncertain – wrong – retained

Of 15 NZ Herald predictions, nine were wrong and six correct.

Dominion Post

* Dover Samuels not expected to retain his position as a minister outside the Cabinet – wrong
* tipped to be replaced in the police portfolio by former foreign minister Phil Goff – wrong
* Goff is also tipped for an associate finance role
