MMP in action

I think we are about to see MMP in action again. National has called for the law & order select committee to hold an inquiry into the Corrections Department.

This would probably never happen under FPP but with a minority government it can. A check of the membership of the committee and there are three Labour MPs, three National MPs and NZF’s Ron Mark. Now I can’t see a scenario where Ron will not want an inquiry, so we will probably get one. Good.
