The bribery menu

A former US congressman is on trial for corruption. And I don’t mean the more subtle forms but outright contracts for money.

You see he actually had a menu of how much contracts would cost:

* $140,000 and a luxury yacht would get you a $16 million defence contract
* $50,000 extra get you $1 million more per contract
* Over $20 million it only costs $25,000 per extra million

It is good that prosecutors are seeking maximum jail terms. This is the most corrupt behaviour yet of an elected congressman.
