The beginning of the end for ICANN?

ICANN has voted to reverse its earlier decision to approve in principle a .xxx top level domain, and turned down the proposed registry contract.

The issue at stake here wasn’t .xxx, but whether ICANN would allow itself to be cowed by a few Governments, and sadly the answer is yes they will.

Colin Jackson calls the decision shameful. I agree. I suspect this decision will cause many to reconsider their support for ICANN continuing in is current role. Watch this space!
