It was claimed that a programme like this could never be made again due to the PC world we live in. So much for progress, many in the world have now forgotten how to laugh at themselves, NZ would be a good example. Prehaps one of the worst sins on the books today is to offened someone. Look at all the wasters now employed by the government to make sure this does not happen.

Oh bollix. Who claimed that?

The screaming queen is a staple of American film and television. I don’t watch a lot of telly, but just off the top of my head:

Queer eye for a straight guy
Next American top model
Southpark
Will and Grace
The Simpsons
Sex and the city

All have their own version of Mr Humphries.

Andrew: You are right. There is have always been shows that had characters like Mr. Humphries. The issue is the spirit with which the character is done. It is done to ridicule and demean people react negatively (and rightly so). But when it is just done saying, “this is the character” and there is no attempt to demean, it is accepted. Some people intentionally exaggerate the issue of PC for their own reason.

Look there are always small numbers in any group who whine about a show — just watch the Christians and South Park for proof — or the Scientologists. But Gaynz.com is running a poll on their web site (which I assume is taken mostly by gay men) about the Humphries character. You could pick all descriptions that you though applied. As of now only 6% said the character was demeaning and 19% thought it was a negative stereotype. 19% said it did no harm, 38% said it was gentle fun, 38% said it raised visibility of gays and 63% said he was “a great, funny character”. So whose PC attitudes would prevent it? Certainly the attitudes of the gay community.

A man joined a very exclusive nudist colony. On his first day he took off his clothes and started to wander around the area. A gorgeous petite blonde walked by, and the man immediately got an erection.

The woman noticed his erection, came over to him and asked, “did you call for me?”

The man replied, “No, what do you mean?”

She said, “You must be new here. Let me explain. It’s a rule here that if you get an erection, it implies you called for me.” Smiling, she lead him to the side of the swimming pool, laid down on a towel eagerly pulled him to her and happily let him have his way with her.

Later, the man continued to explore the colony’s facilities. He entered the sauna and as he sat down, he farted. Within seconds a huge, hairy man lumbered out of the steam room toward him.

“Did you call for me?” asked the hairy man.

“No, what do you mean?” replied the newcomer.

“You must be new.” answered the hairy man, “It’s a rule that if you fart, it implies that you called for me.” The huge man easily spun him around, put him over a bench and had his way with the newcomer.

The newcomer staggered back to the colony office where he was greeted by a smiling, naked receptionist, “May I help you?” she asked.

“Here’s my membership card. You can have the key back and you can keep the $500 membership fee.”

“But, Sir,” she replied, “you’ve only been here a few hours. You haven’t had a chance to see all our facilities.”

“Listen lady, I’m 68 years old. I only get an erection once a month, but I fart 15 times a day. I’m outta here.”

Bob, I have no idea how to make television programmes, so it is unlikely that I will. However, Newsboy (Eating media lunch) did a thing on an Al Qaeda driving school involving hand-grenade throwing, bazooka firing and drive-by shooting. Good enough?

By the way, you forgot to double dare.

As for Are You Being Served, loved it,never missed a show, and im sad hes gone.
