NZ First to pay it back – maybe

It looks like NZ First will be paying back their $158,000. Well in so far as we can tell.

Winston has said an announcement would be made shortly and it would include a cheque.

So it is probably good news. But on the other hand it might be a cheque for a legal challenge. Or a cheque for less than the full amount.

But it probably does mean repayment. I think they know they would face electoral oblivion if they were the only party to refuse to pay it back.
