Labour appoints convicted fraudster as local campaign manager

James Papali'i has just been appointed to be the Labour Party campaign manager for the campaign in Manukau City.

James Papali'i is a convicted criminal. And not decades ago but just nine months ago! He was found guilty on 29 charges of forgery, and dishonesty. He stole $40,000 from a trust set up to help at- youth.

Now I am not saying that a conviction should be a bar for ever for political involvement. But for Labour to have him as their local campaign manager within months of his conviction for theft, is highly inappropriate.
