Sheehan responds

Muliaga “family spokesperson” Brenden Sheehan responds to his critics in the NZ Herald.

It is a most bizarre column. He claims that Fran O’Sullivan, who criticised him, has a conflict of interest on the Mercury Energy issue because she is chairperson of the New Zealand Apec Business Coalition.

Like me, you would be thinking, what the fuck has that to do with this.

Sheehan makes the link in his mind, that as this group promotes trade liberalisation, then they must be against “any moves to greater regulation, even if that regulation will save lives”.

To say this is a simplistic view of the world is putting it kindly. It’s bizarre.

Sheehan also now just refers to the Police as lacking sensitivity and empathy. This comes after he makes headlines calling them a bunch of racists. There is a big difference. We saw the same near u-turn when he almost demanded someone be jailed for what happened, and then as facts comes out he attacks the Police for even proceeding with an investigation.

One thing I agree with Sheehan on. He says “The kids have the right to know the circumstances that led to their mother’s death”. Indeed they do. So why is Sheehan trying to stop the investigation which will determine this?
