The Carvell case

As interesting as it is to read reports of the depositions hearing, I do wish they would hurry to a decision. Of course Carvell technically broke the law by not having the gun locked away, but his law break allowed him to stop a crazed criminal from killing what may have turned out to be large numbers of people.

If it goes to a trail, the jury will, if they follow past form, ignore the law and find him not guilty because they approve of what he did.

The Crown Prosecutor has a tough job in convincing a jury that while they are not prosecuting Carvell for the actual shooting of the machete weilding criminal (as it saved lives), they do think he should have been unable to access the gun which allowed him to probably save his and others’ lives.
