Auckland Councils

The NZ Herald previews a speech by John Key today where he will call for reform of Auckland local bodies, with three options:

• One super-city with one Council
• A smaller merger into three Council
• Retaining current Councils but requiring them to share utility services

Personally I would advocate the full monty – one city.  I bet you that if it happens, then ten years later people will wonder why on earth it wasn’t always that way.
