The media have reported Helen Clark as saying it is a phony war until National reveals more of its hand. A reader e-mails the following thoughts:

People should seriously start calling her on this. She expects National to announce policy for an election that she won’t announce? They’re holding off for tactical purposes and so is she, and it strikes me as a little hypocritical that she expects them to relinquish their tactical advantage when she won’t relinquish hers.
