Dear Helen,

When the cartoonists know there’s easy laughs to be had because the majority have worked out you’re grasping at straws then it’s time to change tack.

You are literally turning yourself and the Labour Party into a laughing stock. If you’re so bereft of ideas that your only hope is to make wild allegations (60 body bags!) against John Key then it’s time you went. If you’re so bereft of ethics & morals that you’re prepared to put politics above principles with Winnie then it’s time you went. Oh well, not long now.

I will enjoy watching what’s left of the Labour caucus carve you up after the election. Hard to tell whether it’ll be Goff, Cunliffe or Jones that finally puts the knife in your back. But you just have to know that they’re sharpening those knives right now.

BYW It would seem the Denniston Dog Cafe and Bar in Westport might be an interesting meeting place for a gentleman(cough) of a certain persuasion to conduct social and possible other intercourse with a very young man of a Socialist (cough) bent

Tom Scott isn’t my cuppa tea most days but he is good.
The hubris in the sense of this cartoon is excellent, just right.

Don the Kiwi, I’ve been thinking a great idea for a billboard would be … Labour’s airbrushed photo of Helen Clark on the left-hand side, with an actual photo beside it on the right-hand side, and the words “It’s all about trust” running underneath both photos.

We can’t even trust Helen to put a true likeness of herself out there. So how the @*%k are we supposed to trust her with the big stuff?

No need for a cartoon to predict what the next National attack will be:

“Winston lied!”
“Helen’s protecting Winston!”
“But… Winston’s 2005 donation declaration…”
“Helen’s still protecting Winston!”
“Why why why does Helen still not sack Winston?”

Amongst The Party That Does Not Reveal Policy (lest the villainous Labour might “steal” it) the Winston scandal must have been greeted with palpable relief – Yay, something that will occupy all our time so we don’t have to explain too much policy!
I can only admire their tenacity in sticking with this so doggedly at a time when it would never be more opportune to explain what they are going to do that will make NZ a better place in 3 years’ time.

RRM: I thought we’d already agreed that the only policy Labour have released was one of National’s? Whereas National have released justice, health and a few minor ones. I’m afraid that last month’s talking points don’t work any more.
