Is the “Tea Party” going to help the Dems keep their majorities? They will at least help stem the swing.

O’Donnell winning the Delaware nomination is an interesting case. The GOP establishment supported a widely popular moderate candidate, Mike Castle, but out of state Tea Party interests, supported by Palin, have installed their own candidate and succeeded. Now Biden’s old seat is seen as contestable again for the Dems, and the GOP are not happy.

It is great to see that we have some politicians will balls in our parliament, ones who have actually used initiative and done something daring. Right on Garret, straight out of a le Carre novel. Far better than all the shemales that fill the opposition benches.

A question for the rabid lefties – How can Goff, day after day, keep on attacking National about its alcohol policy when he has a convicted drink driver sitting next to him? Mmmm.

The Act party are neither RW nor significant, but I applaud David Garrett for his initiative and his manner of handling exposure of his misdemeanours. Pete George your ignorance is showing. Castle is a RINO who has supported many things that Obowmao has introduced, he is neither moderate nor a real Republican in any real sense of the word.
It appears that many American conservatives are more focused upon reestablishing a real Conservative Republican party and are willing to take a hit at these elections if it means they eliminate the RINO’s and send a message to Michael Steele and the out of touch GOP leadership who have supported some real duds over the last few years.
Its a shame that the conservative goverment that was elected in NZ has turned out to be nothing more than Labour Lite and there may be a similar backlash against this at the next NZ election.

The alleged Kenyan birth certificate offered by eBay seller Lucas Smith and displayed last weekend on YouTube.com is not a valid document, a WND investigation has revealed.

Well, I suppose wwe have been lucky, it has taken 10 days for the religious nutbars to crawl out from under the earthquake rubble of Christchurch, but Joan Tolmie of masterton has managed it.

Luck has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that not one life was lost in the Canterbury earthquake.

Expectations for an earthquake of the magnitude Canterbury experienced would have been about 200 lives lost.
This goes beyond the realm of luck and into the realm of the miraculous, and it is in the realm of the miraculous that we find God.

My whole family lives in Christchurch and I acknowledge that it was the mercy and goodness of God as revealed in Jesus Christ that spared us the agony of hundreds of funerals.

To leave God out of this is unthankful and ungrateful.

So, praise be to god that no one died. And all blame to god for the destruction of property, the fear and the misery inflicted upon so many in Canterbury.

And praise be to god for all the people who have lost their lives in all the other eartquakes around the world.

Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t be surprised if Hussein isn’t eligible to be president, and I would be happy to see him go, but it has to be based on real evidence. It’s not worth winning if you have to sink to the level of the left. This is only marginally less silly than the Rathergate document.

We have accomplished this without knowing a nanosecond of peace.

This is a farce.
The Arabs (islamic) don’t want and never have wanted peace.
The Israelis know this so why the charade.

I think Josepth Schacht has it right, it is our weakness in not supporting Israel that leads to more efforts from the religion of peace for yet another round of Middle east peace talks and their inevitable failure.

I think Christine O’Donnell is an exciting young candidate. What we are seeing with her victory in the primaries and other exciting new candidates is a new wave of young up-and-coming politicians in the United States of America that are not buying into business as usual. They are looking at new solutions and new ways of looking at issues.

When we contrast that situation with what is happening in New Zealand, we unfortunately are still in the old ways. Basically limitless welfare, huge amounts of government spending and the ongoing march of left-wing, secular, progressive thought and legislation.

As our society continues to decline I am hoping that a new generation will arise in New Zealand. We need a fresh approach. Not just Labour and Labour Lite!

It’s not just leftwing media worried about O’Donnell, many on the right have serious concerns. Actually, lefties are seeing her and her ilk as enhancing Dem chances.

Many people seem seduced by those who appear to be right wing enough, at the price of ignoring the actual quality of the candidates. Right at any cost will cost the right.

Karl Rove Questions Christine O’Donnell’s ‘Serious Character Problems’

ROVE: Well, look I’m not certain of this because look, there were conservatives on both sides of this race in Delaware. One thing that Christine O’Donnell is now going to have to answer in the general election that she didn’t have to answer in the primary is her own checkered background.

I’ve met her. I got to tell you, I wasn’t frankly impressed as her abilities as a candidate.

And again, these serious questions about how does she make her living? Why did she mislead voters about her college education? How come it took nearly two decades to pay her college bills so she could get her college degree? How did she make a living? Why did she sue a well-known and well- thought of conservative think tank?

It does conservatives little good to support candidates who at the end of the day while they may be conservative in their public statements do not event the characteristics of rectitude, truthfulness and sincerity and character that the voters are looking for.

We’ll see how she can answer these questions. She sure as heck didn’t answer them thus far in the campaign and not in the general election that she will be asked about.

HANNITY: I interviewed her and I felt her explanations were more plausible —

Did you ask her about the people who were following her home to her headquarters and how she has checked each night in the bushes? Did you asked her — I mean, there were a lot of nutty things she has been saying that just simply don’t add up to —

I’m for the Republican, but I got to tell you, we were looking at eight to nine seats in the Senate. We are now looking at seven to eight in my opinion. This is not a race we’re going to be able to win.

But we also can’t make progress if we have candidates who got serious character problems, who cause ordinary voters who are not philosophically aligned with us to not vote for our candidates out of concern of what they said and what they do.

I think at the end of the day she has to answer these questions in a way that people of Delaware find convincing or we are going to find ourselves with somebody who says conservative things, but doesn’t have the character that the people of Delaware want to have back it up.

The same problem here – support Garrett because of his rightishness and ignore all the wrongishness.

I quoted Rove because he is representative of a lot of left and right writing about O’Donnell, who was a nobody with no finance who came from nowhere, except Palin and an out of state faction of the Tea Party promoted her. O’Donnell may pull it off, if she does it will be a real indication of the pulling power of the Tea Leafers.

Haha RB, that’s a strange claim, never been an “extreme left wing is normal” in the US or here no matter how much you try to talk it up. .

In the US at the moment it’s a case of the conservative right exerting it’s will, but it remains to be seen if enough of the middle will go with them or not. If they pull too far right they will alienate too many independents. It’ll be interesting to see what happens in November, and after that.

Won’t make any difference here. Act is hardly far right and struggles with a few percent, so there will only be a fraction in your dream zone.

The establishment Republican Party (like National here) is as big a part of the problem as the Democrats. We’re sick of politicians who buy into every bit of left wing bullshit out there at the same time as they clam to be “the opposition”.

We are not buying into the same old same old mainstream media meme that the y’know, Bush/ Cheny/ Rove were a gang of hard right extremists. Bush was a leftist and a liberal, and so is Karl Rove. The way they capitulated to the cowardly attacks of the left during Bush’s entire term of office was utterly spineless and we no longer have any use for such amoebas.

Was Scott Tiller not driven to kill by his Christian convictions? Did James Lee not take hostages and threaten their lives based on his environmentalist principles?
