the good news is that this time Winston First has no money, no resources and more of his supporters are having their names at the end of each newspaper notifying the world of their intention never to vote again. Winston will not be back.(but lets hope about 4.5% of the disaffected Labour voters waste their vote on this prick.

How many more chinese takeaways do we need?

Ever wonder why the malls do more business than city centres? They don’t permit the filth Chinese shopkeepers leave on the pavements outside their shops, they don’t permit the smothering of windows with tacky, home made fliers.

Try working as a cleaner for a few months and compare the filth in the toilets mainly used by Chinese to those mainly used by whites. (And yes, women’s toilets are, as a rule, dirtier than men’s.).

Ciaron I went up to Shanghai last year in October to do some business and also went to the World Expo. I needed to go to the toilet for a piss so found one and walked in. To my disgust the first thing I saw was a chinese gentleman kangarooing the toilet seat with a 12 inch log halfway out of his arse just about to calve. All with the cubicle door wide open. And the chinese authorities tried so hard to impress us westerners too…

M@tt and Oddyseus: don’t agree about Iwi/Kiwi. That was a campaign that was pretty clear and basically said that beaches shouldn’t belong to a subset of the population, but to all the population. It has been beaten up on the left into something it never was, but I guess you’ll never acknowledge that. Like Brash’s Orewa speech, which if you actually read it is relatively non-controversial, but if you read into it all sorts of dog whistles and hidden meanings that were never there, you can build up a good head of righteous outrage about.

Its the wet liberals like Matthew Hooten who open the door to the rise of these nutters. Immigration is fine, but the way that Hooten and other insist that NZ culture is assimilated into a melting pot of global cultures is wrong and it helps in giving these nuts with their idiotic symbol the foothold they need.

Don’t posture here as above it all Mr. Hooten. Without those like you who see it as their duty to dissolve NZ culture into a global multiculture, and work at shoving that ideal down the throats of other NZers, these people wouldn’t even get a look in.

It’s a fairly long bow to draw to compare this racist xenophobic rubbish to a campaign against what is essentially affirmative action. It’s part of the age old equality of opportunity/equality of outcome debate. Critique the kiwi/iwi campaign, sure, but comparing it to this nonsense is only a reflection on you.

The washing out of NZ culture can be even seen at Auckland Uni. Normal Euro style toilets are replaced by ones of Asian design that would accomodate a crouching eagle, you can check this out at the AU library building for example. How is a Kiwi student supposed to use them?!!! HOW!!??!!!! I’m not a ninja I can’t do what they can, I’m just not that nimble.

I’m no great fan of NZF (ie Winston Peters) and I really hope we have seen the last of Winston in parliament, but I do have to wonder why DPF has started this anti-Winston campaign at this point of time. Could there be something in the “rouge” polling after all? Has he been given the word from above (no not God!), to start a smear campaign?

Because of the sudden realization among the political neophytes who advise and surround John Key that they have left the door wide open for Winston’s return. For the dopey prick who wrote here yesterday saying I was a NZF supporter, it doesn’t surprise me. Like most people in National, he has no political intelligence or instinct.

I am not a NZF supporter. I am a strong critic of John Key. He must go and be replaced by someone with more political nous and principles. It is the wishy washy aimlessness of John Key that is behind the revival of Winston and NZF.

Key needs to stop listening to anti-Brash pro-Maori Party wet liberals like Matthew Hooten. He won’t though. Key does not have the background that would allow him to understand any message founded in solid political principles. He is far too limited in his political view. If this wasn’t so, he would have seen the NZF revival coming long ago. Just wet and ineffective.

That is true. Also, Key needs to stop paying attention to Nick Smith and the greenies surrounding him, who are there to advance a Luddite agenda. In fact, Smith should be relieved from his ministerial duties and replaced with someone competent.

Sacrificing the middle-classes for the sake of winning the votes of the racist Maori Party will not be beneficial to NZ, either.

National cannot pretend to be everything to everybody. In political life there are situations where a clear position is demanded. Now is such time for, the thus far accurately labelled, Labour-lite.

One thing in favour of the Asian squat toilets-they’re more hygenic since your bum isn’t touching a seat that thousands of other bums have touched.

Still, got to have good knees for it.

Also I agree with Redbaiter-Winston’s only got a chance for two reasons: 1) because Key’s chosen the Labour swing voter over the traditional conservative vote. Whether that’s a bad thing for National strategically I really don’t know, I guess it could be successful if his aim is to make Labour irrelevant for all but the unionists and beneficiaries, but it would be a tough ask to do that and keep his core. And 2) because of ACT’s ineptitude to secure the angry right-wing vote. ACT and Hide were handed a platform to eat up that right vote who felt Key was too soft, and they completely dropped the ball. Hide may win Epsom, but I can’t see him bringing in more than 1 list MP with him.

I think It’s pretty plain to see that National is just sitting tight for the 1st term, and once their position is consolidated through familiarity and good performance, they will turn a bit more conservative and put the boot in where it counts, keeping the left swingers who are used to them and collecting some harder leaning right winggers too. Act is on the way out. No sudden movements for the next couple of years that’s for sure.

I’m confidently predicting that Winston will neither win an electorate seat nor will NZ First get more than 5%: he is yesterday’s hero. Without a presence in Parliament, he will struggle to get much attention in an election campaign. John Key will simply ignore him. ACT will remind those few thinking of voting NZF about the Owen Glenn Affair.

Geezus that’s an ugly little piece of propaganda. Who the hell was doing Winston’s PR in 2003? This is what I mean when I say he’s too easily captured by those he decides to trust.

NZF’s best hope is no longer Winston. It’s some nasty little rodent (Ron Mark, perhaps even Michael Laws) standing in a seat where the sentiments in this flier will be shared by just enough people to get them over the line. Then watch the fireworks, as the ego of “real” MP means he demands leadership of the party. And sadly for Winston, when he was an electorate MP he made it plain that he considered list MPs inferior, so his words will come back to bite him.

Let’s hope there’s no electorate in NZ so amenable to divisiveness and hatred. Then again, Whanganui did elect (and re-elect) Laws…

Christ, that’s terrible. If only National could stay in office by making meaningful changes to unleash NZ’s economy, increase our prosperity, get the unproductive off the backs of productive and head off apartheid. Sadly they can’t; for that would take vision, leadership, backbone and integrity.

No chance of that. Instead we get bogeymen and the enemy within.

Several people here claimed last election that New Zealand First would only pick up tactical Labour votes, but this didn’t pan out at all. In 2008 New Zealand First won 5% or more of the party vote in the following general electorates: Northland, Whangarei, Papakura, Waikato, Coromandel, Tauranga, Bay of Plenty, East Coast, Rotorua, Taupo, Whanganui, Rangitikei, Wairarapa and Otaki-all of them won by National. Only in the two Maori electorates held by Labour did New Zealand First take more than 5% of the party vote in Labour-won seats.

New Zealand First appear to have their own core provincial base, I’d estimate that to currently be around 2.5-3% of the total vote.
