The eye witness, Mohammad Bashir, describes the event as it unfolded. Of the three helicopters, “there was only one that landed the men and came back to pick them up, but as he [the helicopter] was picking them up, it blew away and caught fire.”
The witness says that there were no survivors, just dead bodies and pieces of bodies everywhere. “We saw the helicopter burning, we saw the dead bodies, then everything was removed and now there is nothing.”
I always wondered how a helicopter could crash, as the White House reported, without at least producing injuries. Yet, in the original White House story, the SEALs not only survived a 40-minute firefight with al Qaeda, “the most highly trained, most dangerous, most vicious killers on the planet,” without a scratch –
– but also survived a helicopter crash without a scratch.

If the interview is not a hoax and the translation is correct, we now know the answer to the unasked question: Why was there no White House ceremony with President Obama pinning medals all over the heroic SEALs who tracked down and executed Public Enemy Number One?
The notion that Obama had to keep the SEALs’ identity secret in order to protect the SEALs from al Qaeda detracts from the heroic tough-guy image of the SEALs –
– and it strains credulity that Obama’s political handlers would not have milked the occasion for all it is worth.
Other than on the Veterans Today and ICH Internet sites, I have not seen any mention of the Pakistani news story. If the White House press corps is aware of the report, no one has asked President Obama or his press spokesperson about it.
Helen Thomas was the last American reporter sufficiently brave to ask such a question, and she was exterminated by the Israel Lobby.
In America we have reached the point where anyone who tells the truth is dismissed as a “conspiracy theorist” and marginalized.

Um hello Sofia Im sure if Mr Mohammed Bashir was truly an eye witness to what happened then it is likely that he was part of Bin Laden’s compound staff if not a guard.

Now think of this: Mr Bashir is a dedicated extremist Muslim nutter who has had his boss (messiah) snatched from under his nose and shot dead. Is he going to get on arab tv and say oh yeah the satanic americans came in, shot us all up and took off with out barely a scratch.

I don’t think so – there is no glory in what happened for the ex-guard. Much better to say yeah heaps of dead bodies – infidels dead – makes Mr Bashir look much more the hero in his fellow nutter’s eyes.

A helicopter did crash and so it becomes the genesis for a face saving yarn to make the arab world feel better about what happened.

Normally I ignore anything Keith Locke has to say but if it is true that the Defence Force and Treasury have availed themselves of this “private leadership institution” then questions need asked.

He said (Locke) given the institute’s six-day leadership programme at Queenstown’s Millbrook Resort cost $18,285, plus $2558 in accommodation, it was time to review the course.

These are the areas needing targetted to cut bureacratic waste, not front line jobs.

But I am still quite interested in your convictions, no silly not the religious or political sort, we have had those rammed down our throats for the past few weeks, I mean your actual criminal convictions.

It is simple to sit on the side lines and piss & moan, but solutions need to be put forward. If the budget was that shit etc etc, well what are Liabor proposing? Sweet fuck all it seems to get us off the downward spiral into a 3rd world country.

Unlike tha Nats. last election strategy which was to say nothing and do nothing. Which I might add they have basically continued for the last 2.5 years excepting where it interferes with our lives.or raises our taxes by stealth tax.

Labour may have ruled out ACT but as you know the reality is politics and ruling are strange bedfellows and as you have said on more than one occasion Act are closer to Labour (the real Labour), than they are to National. Add in the Greens and you have a Govt.
The Nats. look like having just themselves and the Maori Party, which is almost the same thing these days, to work with.
They had better start considering being nice to ACT again or its opposition benches and Key off to New York.

After all it was the Nats who led the charge under the Great Helmsman and employed Winston followed in second place by the non Labour Labour.
I’m sure with your knowledge of Phil Goff over the years you don’t seriously think he was in Helen’s camp despite having to say so at times and defend their policy just as any National Cabinet Minister must.

New Labour are looking much more likely to succeed now than even a few months ago. Makes for good and better policies and politics in my view.

Viking2 must have watched a different Q&A to the rest of us.
Did you see where Phool refused to rule out capital gains tax, financial transactions tax and raising the top rate (but won’t say what that top rate will be!).

I love how they want to tax the ‘rich’ more yet jump up and down when people on $85,000 will loose $2.52 on WFF, have to pay more into Kiwisaver and may have to contributute towards their own daycare costs.

Back to tax & spend!!!

Viking2 – the old ACT, before the Brash takeover would have been more likely to support a good Labour Govt – like the 4th Lab Govt than the new Brash led ACT which is attracting Nats to its membership.

The new ACT is gearing itself to be a permanent partner of the National Party. Those in ACT that disagree with this are leaving the party. By saying that, I don’t see National having any competition until the 2014 election, and I would hope that ACT removed itself from any agreement binding them to National in the next term.

Is anyone else sick to death of opening a Sunday Newpaper or Webpage and seeing an endless torrent of pointless stories about that dreadful Robyn Malcolm woman??
Yesterday she was claiming that someone had “hoaxed her death” (as she is clearly such a major celebrity!) ..and today she is in the Herald saving the World somehow or rather.
Why can’t the NZ media see her for what she is- A ‘b-grade ‘NZ actress/silly deluded political activist/rather desperate media whore??

The Budget has displayed a degree of cynicism one would expect from a Government in its third term, not its first.

John Key and his National Party colleagues may well take a hit in the polls after the mediocre Budget. The document has had a chilly reception. Few are shouting its merits from the rooftops.

We were told for months by Bill English this was going to be the “Savings and Investment Budget”. Yet English cut the Government contribution to KiwiSaver in half and then, to add insult to injury, expanded the tax on employer contributions to pension schemes to the lower rates of KiwiSaver. Trying to argue black is white.

Of course when you think about it [and probably it does pay to think too much of it] how was Harold Camping relating the Bible, written a couple of millennia ago, and changed ever since, with earthquakes that were to be a rolling disaster around the world as each country hit 6.00 pm May 21, when many of those countries are on relatively recently introduced [in the scheme of things] daylight saving?
And even within time bands, also defined by man, like Canada where areas of Mountain Daylight Time are further west than Pacific Daylight, who would go first? Or would Samoa in the Western Hemisphere be screwed by tsunami from Tonga and Fiji which should have been first to go, while Samoa although less than 600 km from Tonga as the tsunami flies, is almost 24 hours behind? And this guy Camping is a retired civil engineer?

AHHHH no Rachael I didn’t miss any of what he said but obviously you with your jaundiced ears apparently did.
He made it quite clear that until they had done the homework and decided what they would be doing then he was not going to “rule anything in nor out”

Nothing ambiguous about that and in fact he was much more straight up about it than English was about job numbers. i.e. the same numbers he quoted in last years budget. March this year unemployment had risen by lots of people despite many going to Aussie.
What is ti with you people? Do you not read the news and join the frigging dots?

The number of people unemployed in March was 486,200, up from 474,300 a year earlier.

Yes joana, there are a hell of a lot of people who think all employers are nasty ruthless things who just can’t wait to hurt them in all sorts of ways.

Their opinion I’m afraid doesn’t count for much when you’re trying to determine a factual answer.

The head of Pike River’s Health and Safety program lost a son in the explosion. Do you really think he would have allowed his own son to go in if he thought there was something seriously wrong with the program he was responsible for, or in your fantasy, do you think he would have allowed his loyalty to the shareholders to override his familial affection?

Yesterday Yahoo started out their version of the story by referring to Malcolm as “the beloved New Zealand actress” (small consolation in that they didn’t go PC and call her an ‘actor’).

She’s one of the silly women promoting the Climate Change thing and supporting the Australian unions in the Hobbit actors fiasco.

Should Helen Kelly not be waiting for the Royal Commission, with any actual evidence which she may have?

It’s bad enough the media do it in the first place, showing they are completely fucking mental, but then to just have the public let them get away with it, shows that most of the public are completely fucking mental, as well.

1). No other country on this planet is going to or has put agriculture in any climate change legislation.
2). Agriculture and horticulture make up 60% of GDP in this country, which means they pay roughly 60% of all Government spending. If that is not a fair share Phil in, please tell me what is. 70%? 80%?
Any New Zealander who says agriculture do not pay their way in this country is a bonehead.

I admit that it has got me whacked too. For some weird reason the public associate success at at waffling on a stage to making the waffler a world expert on climate. The ability to read an autocue makes someone a sitter as a financial advisor. Smiling vacantly at a camera can elevate some nondescript no hoper to the status of a demigod equipped to pontificate on the feelings of the nation.

It does, however, shed a little light on Phil Goff’s leadership of the Labour caucus.

ETS applied to agriculture? Labor abandons rural New Zealand.

Canning the Wellsford – Puhoi extension in favour of an R&D tax break? Labor abandons the north. Also the impact of the Tax credit is uncertain. Will it create the wealth Labor says it will? Remember, Labor is the party that abandoned the knowledge wave. There is a suggestion that tax breaks or credits simply move expenditure to different accounting categories and the actual benefit of the R&D expenditure is minimal.

Those on high incomes have the top tax rates increased? The top 20% of tax payers will pay 80% of the tax instead of $70%. Well those higher income earners will be either off to Australia or to their accountants and lawyers to set up structures to minimise the tax they pay. Companies and Trusts spring to mind immediately.

So Goff is going to remove GST from fruit and vege and then introduce ETS into agriculture early. What does he think will happen to the price of the same fruit and vege?

So really, what he is saying is that the poor will pay for the research and technology tax credit through the fruit and vege they purchase remaining the same price as now (with GST) or increasing so the ag sector can meet their ETS obligations.

(and of course that plan is further weakened if the consumption of fruit and vege remains static or declines due to the impact of his ‘plan’.)

So much for improving the health and cost of living of the populace by making fruit and vege more affordable.

So much for reconnecting with traditional constituent base (effectively taxing the poor to fund research.)

They are clueless. Long may this continue!

Why the hell does any journalist, who apparently are trained to detect and discover FACTS, let themselves get sucked into perpetuating this mind-bogglingly shallow train of events. But they do. Lots of them do it, multiple times, until eventually, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy, in some people’s minds, including those journos who started the whole fucking thing in the first place.

The irony is, the people in whose minds it takes hold are the very people who would most benefit from a much more healthy perspective on what is real and what is made up.

I do find it astonishing that the “beloved” Robyn Malcolm and Keisha Castle Hughes seem to have absolute halos in the eyes of the gushing New Zealand media.
Malcolm is becoming part of that awful ‘Rent a Crowd’ protest mob and seems hell bent on being the new Sue Bradford, she blatantly uses the popularity of a TV show she ‘acts’ in to push her ‘Vote Green’ agenda.
I last saw Malcolm on TV attempting to present at the NZ music awards in a disgraceful state of slurring, swearing and stumbling intoxication…Solo Mum Keisha last hit news after being seen by half of Auckland screaming abuse at Police outside a late night bar.
Yet they both seem to be looking down upon us from their ‘High and Mighty’ perches and telling us all how to live our lives….when will the media realise we’ve had enough?

Fletch- Gene Simmons isn’t ‘Ex -Kiss’. Kiss are still touring and recording to this day…I had the pleasure of seeing them live just a year or two ago…

I agree with the sentiment though-Simmons has basis for his opinion, he was born and raised in Israel and his mother was a Concentration camp survivor…

As soon as he gains power Goff is going to increase the minimum wage to $15 an hour. Youth unemployment is very high now. Forcing employers to pay young people even more is going to increase the number of young people out of work. This is another Labour Party bribe to make sure working people vote for him.

So why is it that when Labour increased the minimum wage in 2006, it understood that increasing the minimum wage too quickly would constrain job growth, but are prepared to offer an extra $2 an hour at a time when jobs are scarce?

Ahhh no. Well for me anyway. Manolo well he could be but seriously you must be deluded. The pair of us rail against most things socialist daily. I can’t even be bothered clicking on the sub standard.
All I saw this morning was English and Goff. Not even the gaggle makers that went with them. My point was that Goff at that time made certain comments that indicate that they are forming serious policy and that the Nats. with their go with the flow policies of the last 3 years had better up their game or they will be back in opposition with the Maori Party.
They don’t have many friends and with the economy still at a sad pace and more unemployed than ever, with our deficits highest they have ever been, with our borrowing the highest its ever been, more being given to the 13% of brown Nz’s each week and less notice being taken of ordinary NZer’s they haven’t got much to crow about, apart from smile and wave.

On the other side we have 3 parties ramping up their policies and presentation. (not including Hone).

So by November it will be go with the flow or decide on something new and go with the flow is not new.

Without better political allies, Labour will not win and the horror story that is a Key Brash Government will emerge. National are in trouble however, they are bleeding votes to their right and moderates who may have supported the Smile and Wave of Key will flee National to the Greens and Labour, while they in turn will lose some of their more radical vote to Mana.

Viking2, I will just assume that your Phil love today is more so that you crave a good opposition to National, of which the whole country needs.

However, we are all impatient, I would like John Key to put his foot down and hurry up, but the many “Braindead” voters in this country are only interested in slow change, bare in mind we are dealing with people whom were brain washed by Labour for a decade….

We all know that many loved the fact that we had higher taxes then had to go and get money via say WFF….. What a fucken joke, if you truly believe that is the way forward, we have a problem dude….

Goff and his melon heads have no real clue to pull us out of this steamy brown stuff other than taxing the deemed wealthy in this country (am sure Goff would be like Cullen and assume anyone earning 65K is RICH, Fuckheads those 2)

In reality, if there were ever a time to mobilize to stop a new and wider war, this is it.

When this totally tacky, embarrassing idea came up earlier, I thought their was some suggestion that it may actually break some copyright law or IP aspect of the original Hollywood sign. I do hope so. And it could save thousands, I guess, if the instigators find out before proceeding.
I do wonder too what Peter Jackson, the man who most gave Wellington this status, thinks of the cringe value it presents. I wonder if he would feel a need to apologise to Warner Bros executives, flying into Wellington Airport, for the childish sign which would confront them.
Will it have bloody macrons over the Os?

Perhaps Puzzled this could be clever ploy to get cultured and intelligent Wellingtonians to turn down the stupid thing, in favour of something much more attractive, like a giant statue of Peter Jackson at the top of Mt Vic?

Had the Propaganda organ of the NZ Labour Party on following the sports and weather and caught Trevor Mallard doing “A boss under cover” act in the’ Put a politician to work’ program.
Good on him, he signed up for a day to sleep in a workers dormitory, (they moved him because he snored), eat and work with seasonal Immigrant Samoan workers contract picking asparagus in the Horowhenua region. I think he picked 3 boxes in six hours while the top Samoan picked 12 or was it 17. Trev then did a stint in the pack house where the NZ workers WILL stand at the grader and I wonder if he got the true message here. We have to get the Samoans in because the picking work is “hard” and to make good money they have to actually produce results for the whole 6 hours. Trev has decided that Kiwis wont do the work because it is too hard, what an absolute load of fucking bollocks Trev, the fucking dole and other welfare is too easy and ongoing, if the choice was starving, no booze, no drugs then the idler young people would do what we did and get the work, do it hard for the season then move to where another wealth producer competing in the real world will employ them at piecework rates and make their own money. How many in previous generations did the hard yards to get a start, a car, deposit on a house even by actually WORKING hard for good money and now we depend on these immigrants to do piecework in vegetables, vinyards, orchards, shearing, weed clearance where a brief effort of serious activity can yield significant rewards but it is easier to sit on their arses this is the promised land, vote labour and whinge.
Good on you Trevor for getting down and dirty and sticking it out, good effort, but it would have been a breeze when you were 20 eh. $ 300 dollars a day for six weeks @ $2100 per week better than the bloody dole maybe, somethings amiss when healthy young New Zealanders can let the opportunity pass.

That is the real message here Trevor.

Tax breaks for rugby bodies

The Government has confirmed special tax breaks in the Budget for the two major rugby organisations behind the Rugby World Cup.

Finance Minister Bill English confirmed the Crown would reimburse income tax incurred by Rugby New Zealand 2011, the company set up to run the tournament, and also by the New Zealand Rugby Union where it was involved.

Exporters, scientists and those who create our wealth get taxed while Rugby gets tax breaks. Sooner the Nats. get sent packing the better.
