TV3 political poll
And popularity for Prime Minister Key is ‘waning’, ‘the lowest rating for him ever’ but do they actually give a previous figure so we can judge for ourselves? No.
So is he down 10%, 5%, there isn’t a clue. Just that they tell you ‘it is a bad start to the year’.

Similarly, Shearer debuts well, but no actual comparison by saying how much more he is on, than what Goff was.

Why not show the actual figures, that is what a poll is about.
That Key suffers from backfiring asset sales policy and trying to sell New Zealand farms to the Chinese would appear to be just assumptions too.
Most of yesterday’s comments about television news, TV3 in particular, seemed to rate it as merde – last evening’s poll presentation : QED.

Another delusion?

The Green Party is confident its increased vote is stable and not the result of Labour’s unpopularity.

Co-leader Metiria Turei said the party would be looking to grow its support base at the 2014 election and did not expect to lose ground to other left-wing parties.

“We are not the benefactors of Labour or National voters shifting to the Greens. We are our own political force that generates support in our own right.”

No support level in politics is stable, neither is it unrelated to the support of other parties. Grens have been there too long to excuse this as naive. One sure way to prove that is to keep displaying smug arrogance and to believe you have earned and deserve all the support you get.

Under our jovial PM John Key,86 NEW ZEALANDERS died after entering our RUN DOWN (lets sack the nurses and doctors)
hospital system .THATS RIGHT fellow NZrs,86 people died from our shitty health service There were 344 +preventable mishaps .With Key in charge of our SICK country and his everything must pay its way (MONEY MARKET) outlook and after everything has been sold ,the VERY CHEAP yak herders he employs from mongolia to be nurses and doctors will fit in aright. REMEMBER 86 dead,one could have been someone close to youright john boy.

Ruthless social workers in UK force parents/children to flee to Ireland whose own social workers are aghast at their counterpart’s behaviour.

This is what WE are heading for, I hope you know. Sometime in the not too distant future maybe ten, twenty years, OUR CYFS workers are going to be just as zealous and self-righteous and authoritarian (because they’re “saving” the children). And some of us are going to flee to Australia. You wait. You can see it in their eyes. Just waiting for it, to be allowed finally, to teach those bastards a lesson.

A couple, both 62, went to a sex therapist’s office.
The doctor asked, “What can I do for you?”

The man said, “Will you watch us have sexual intercourse?”

The doctor looked puzzled, but agreed. The doctor examined them
and then directed them to disrobe and go at it.

When the couple finished, the doctor re-examined them and upon
completion he advised the couple, “There’s nothing wrong with the
way you have intercourse.” He then charged them $42.

This happened several weeks in a row. The couple would make an
appointment, have intercourse with no apparent problems, get
dressed, pay the doctor, and then leave.

Finally after almost two months of this routine, the doctor
asked, “Just exactly what are you trying to find out?”

The old man said, “Oh, we’re not trying to find out anything.
She’s married and we can’t go to her house. I’m married, so we
can’t go to my house. The Copthorne charges $160. The Hilton
charges $178. So, we do it here for $42 and I get $28 back from
Southern Cross.

Personally, I think it would push my comfort level to the extreme…..mind you, different strokes for different folks. I’ve met people who are so parsimonious that they’d do it at a railway station in rush hour to save money.

A Texan walks into a pub in Ireland and clears his voice to the crowd of drinkers. He says, “I hear you Irish are a bunch of hard drinkers. I’ll give $500 American dollars to anybody in here who can drink 10 pints of Guinness back-to-back.”

The room is quiet, and no one takes up the Texan’s offer. One man even leaves.

Thirty minutes later the same gentleman who left shows back up and taps the Texan on the shoulder. “Is your bet still good?” asks the Irishman.

The Texan says yes and asks the bartender to line up 10 pints of Guinness. Immediately the Irishman tears into all 10 of the pint glasses, drinking them all back-to-back.

The other pub patrons cheer as the Texan sits in amazement. The Texan gives the Irishman the $500 and says, “If ya don’t mind me askin’, where did you go for that 30 minutes you were gone?”

The Irishman replies, “Oh… I had to go to the pub down the street to see if I could do it first.”

“Riley? He’s just a wee fellow,” the barkeep said surprised.

“He must have had something in his hand.”

“That he did,” Kelly said. “A shovel it was.”

“Dear Lord. Didn’t you have anything in your hand?”

“Aye, that I did–Mrs. Riley’s left breast.” Kelly said. “And a beautiful thing it was, but not much use in a fight!”

The Murphys are giving their first dinner party in their posh new house. Once most of the guests have left, Mrs. Murphy asks her neighbour if she did everything correctly.

“It was perfect,” says the neighbour, “well almost: there were no sugar tongs.”

“Sugar tongs?”

“Well,” says the neighbour, “when the men go to the toilet, very few of them wash their hands after handling their you-know-whats, and then they use their fingers to take sugar lumps from the bowl for their coffee. That’s why you need sugar tongs.”

Mrs. Murphy takes this advice to heart and after her next dinner party she asks her neighbour once again if she did everything correctly.

“It was perfect again,” says the neighbour, “but why didn’t you follow my advice about the sugar tongs?”

“I did,” says Mrs. Murphy, “I hung them up right beside the toilet.”

Words written 38 years ago, but very applicable to today’s New Zealand. They couldn’t be a better description of Key’s Labour lite government:
“If a Tory does not believe that private property is one of the main bulwarks of individual freedom, then he had better become a socialist and have done with it. Indeed one of the reasons of our electoral failure is that people believe too many Conservatives have become socialists already.

There is a widespread feeling that the Conservative party has not defended the ideals explicitly and toughly enough, so the country is set on a course towards inevitable socialist mediocrity.

Why should anyone support a party that seems to have the courage of no convictions?

As long as a party requires about 50% of the vote to sit on the Treasury benches we might as well get used to watered down policies from National. There are simply not enough voters prepared to consider what is right for the country rather than what lines their pockets.
