Just got a $200 ticket for my car not having its “Current license label affixed in prescribed manner”. It was parked on the road in central Auckland.

WTF is this? I had a warning ticket about this before, and the wording of it made me think my rego wasn’t attached to the windscreen properly. I straightened it up in the pocket but now got this. I noticed today my rego is 2 weeks overdue, but FFS! That’s more than the cost of the rego itself!

Money grubbing cunts. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Sounds like Julie Anne Genter was asking the wrong questions about roading. Maybe she should have asked about specific roading projects with extremely low cost/benefit ratios or why the cost to maintain existing roads is projected to be flat while we vastly increase spending on new ones.

David,
Would it be possible to have two general debates sites on this blog each day;
The first for Philu and people who like to discuss what he/she/ it has to say.
The second; to be Philu free.
What makes this blog so good are the erudite and intelligent comments made by so many commentators on here. I appreciate them. But I cannot appreciate Philu, and he does absolutely nothing to enhance this blog.
My suggestion would not be to silence Philu; it would merely be to get him/her/it out of my way.

In a country the size of New Zealand we are not likely to witness queues of business corporations eager to build our infrastructure. If we want decent roads & a rail system central government has to be involved.

That said, ownership of what runs on either should be left to private enterprise.
