i notice that last night i was accused by mikenmild (warmly seconded by Pete George)
of reaching a new low by wishing for, ‘ the execution of another member of the kiwiblog fraternity’

i never wished that at all, read it again, you weak super sensitive dweebs.

However,
i did warn a certain magpie to be carefull what he wished for when he is calling for the revolution.

After the revolution new leaders may make a pragmatic call on the usefullness of such a bludging magpie
who has contributed fuckall his whole useless life and take appropriate action accordingly.

..the forgone/re-directed revenue/income from those assets since then..has been $21 billion…

Well-spotted. The dastardly Government is introducing free contraception to all women, but this is just a sneaky move to stop brown people breeding.

Even given the Maori statistic here is 43% against their 15% population, that 43% plus the Pacific Islanders 10% brings it up to 53% of course, against 47% of all others.
53 – 47 still seems pretty even-handed to me …

Can any lawyers say what the legal situation is on distributing documents known to be confidential and obviously not intended to be seen by the recipient?

“Public interest” has been claimed, but an MP on party blog is hardly an unbiased media.

Those who take an interest in the global warming issue will recognise the name Yamal.

As the Hockey Stick was being debunked we were told by the same “scientists” that other tree ring proxy produced the same hockeystick shape.

Thanks to Freedom of Information action, it has now been revealed that that this so-called Yamal collection was deliberately and knowingly cherry-picked from their broader collection of equally valid proxy data.

It is a fraudulent fabrication.

These “scientists” – at the very heart of the global warming issue – deliberately produced this entirely misleading chart and lied about their work with the wider collection which completely contradicted it.

While checking the church storeroom, the pastor discovered several cases of new Bibles that never had been opened and distributed. So at his Sunday sermon, he asked for three volunteers from the congregation who would be willing to sell the Bibles door-to-door for $20 each to raise money for the church. Jack, Paul, and Louie all raised their hands to volunteer for the task.

The minister knew that Jack and Paul earned their living as salesmen and were likely capable of selling some Bibles. But he had serious doubts about Louie, a local farmer who always had kept to himself because he was embarrassed by his speech impediment. Poor Louie stuttered badly. But because he didn’t want to discourage Louie, the minister decided to let him try anyway.

He sent the three of them away with the backseats of their cars stacked with Bibles. He asked them to meet with him and report the results of their efforts the following Sunday.

Anxious to find out how successful they were, the minister immediately asked Jack, “Well, Jack, how did you make out selling our Bibles last week?” Proudly handing the reverend an envelope, Jack replied, “Using my sales prowess, I was able to sell 20 Bibles, and here’s the $400 I collected on behalf of the church.”

“Fine job, Jack!” the minister said, vigorously shaking his hand. “You are indeed a fine salesman and the church is indebted to you.”

Turning to Paul, he said, “And Paul, how many Bibles did you sell for the church last week?”

Paul, smiling and sticking out his chest, confidently replied, “I am a professional salesman. I sold 28 Bibles on behalf of the church, and here’s the $560 I collected.”

The minister responded, “That’s absolutely splendid, Paul. You are truly a professional salesman and the church is also indebted to you.”

Apprehensively, the minister turned to Louie and said, “And Louie, did you manage to sell any Bibles last week?” Louie silently offered the minister a large envelope. The minister opened it and counted the contents. “Louie, there’s $6400 in here! Are you suggesting that you sold 320 Bibles for the church, door-to-door, in just one week?” Louie just nodded.

“That’s impossible!” both Jack and Paul said in unison. “We are professional salesmen, yet you claim to have sold 10 times as many Bibles as we could.”

“Yes, this does seem unlikely,” the minister agreed. “I think you’d better explain how you managed to accomplish this, Louie.”

Louie shrugged. “I-I-I re-re-re-really do-do-do-don’t kn-kn-kn-know f-f-f-for sh-sh-sh-sure,” he stammered. “A-a-a-all I-I-I s-s-s-said wa-wa-wa-was ‘W-w-w-w-would y-y-y-you l-l-l-like t-t-t-to b-b-b-buy th-th-th-this b-b-b-Bible f-f-f-for t-t-t-twenty d-d-d-dollars o-o-o-or wo-wo-wo-would yo-yo-yo-you j-j-j-just l-l-l-like m-m-m-me t-t-t-to st-st-st-stand h-h-h-here and r-r-r-read it t-t-t-to y-y-y-you?'”

Ignoring the complete falsehood here, that the Hockey Stick has been debunked (which it hasn’t), and ignoring the fact that Briffa’s work was one just of 11 (from memory) that were incorporated into the Hockey Stick graph compiled by Michael Mann, a scientific hero, and ignoring the fact that there are plenty of hockey sticks in our temperature records from all sorts of sources, not just proxies (heard of thermometers, wat>), tell us this, wat:

Do you deny that the planet has actually warmed over the last 150 years, and especially since 1970?

We need to know this so we can understand what your point is.

But wait! There’s more! North Carolina has just voted in a referendum to ban already banned same sex marriage – yes, they are that twisted that they just wanted to do it all again, a bit like reaffirming marriage vows, I s’pose.

I was not interested in the Employment Relations (Secret Ballot for Strikes) Amendment Bill until I watched the way the left (Labour’s union arm) got up and spoke about it in the house today. What we witnessed was naked hatred, hatred of all employers and a litany of lies from those who spoke.

To be honest I still don’t really care as I will never join a union but I will admit to really enjoying watching the Labour union hacks get all pissed off at the bill being passed.

Poor accusation, and wrong. Since I’ve been coming here (and before that elsewhere) I’ve spoken against attack politics. That’s been my main motivation for getting involved in the political scene.

To improve political behaviour (or any sort of behaviour) people have to be prepared to stand up to it and speak against it, otherwise the Mallards keep getting way with crap and think it’s acceptable. They seem obliviois to the fact that many people regard politicians very poorly – thanks to the likes of him, most politicians actually try to act with respect.

I think what Mallard is doing is disgraceful for any MP, let alone a senior MP.

If everyone shrugs it away like that, of course it’s a lost cause. But with determination and effort things can change.

But a lot of people have had a gutsful of it. The best response I got at election meetings was talking about improving our democracy. If you want to change entrenched behaviour it isn’t quick or easy, but I’m making progress – five MPs in the last week have contacted me agreeing gotcha politics isn’t acceptable.

But I’ll be keeping an eye on you.

Ah, yeah, great, or something. Weird thing to say?

Griff, I expose and condemn a lack of political morals wherever I see it, left, right or centre. It’s not confined to one leaning. I’ve criticised Banks, Brash, Key, DPF, Whale…and a few on the left, I’ve also criticised Dunne, and Peters wherever he fits.

In my experience the freedom of expressing differing views is far more tolerated on KB than other blogs I have experienced. It was quite knarly and abusive when I started here about three years ago but I think it is much more participant tolerant here now. DPF is well known for his tolerance of views.

Take what you want from my blog experience:
Kiwiblog – warned once or twice in three years of prolific commenting

Whaleoil – occasionally comment there, have “exchanged views” with Whale but feel free to comment
The Standard – post on a knife edge, warned yesterday, banned several times and ahad a number of warnings

Red Alert – my comments started disappearing yesterday, the first time I’ve commented there since a ban by Mallard a few weeks ago. Attempted message control dominates.

Dimpost – after speaking up against what I thought was a disgraceful link (graphically accusing National of butchering children, yeah, there was some intellectual justification but I didn’t buy that) I was mass attacked and then blocked from responding, I may have been silently banned but no way of knowing.
