TV3 news hit a new low.
On the ‘news’ tonight TV3 argued that Maori have ‘rights and interests’ in water is now the same as they ‘own’ the water.

I wonder how long our masters will permit us uncensored freedom via the internet. It must already be very inconvenient for them…..Wikileaks springs to mind as does the unrest a few years ago in Iran where the brutality of ‘Dinnerjackets’ regime was exposed for all the world to see.

China has heavy internet controls. How long do you see the heart of the internet, ie the USA, continuing as it does before it is reined in as part of ‘the War on Something (or Rather)?

No royalties for song downloads, says Canadian court

Canada’s Supreme Court ruled on Thursday that songwriters and music publishers are not entitled to royalties for song and video game downloads. It also determined that artists should be compensated when music is streamed online.

The high court ruled that downloading an individual file is not considered a communication to the public within the Copyright Act. However, streaming music online is not a private transaction and should be subject to fees currently in place.

Streaming refers to watching or listening to videos and music online while downloading refers to saving a file to your hard drive.

The Supreme Court partly overturned a lower court decision that had allowed an organisation representing musicians and the recording industry, known as the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers, to collect tariffs for both activities for its members.

“Although a download and stream are both ‘transmissions’ in technical terms … they are not both ‘communications’ for the purposes of the Copyright Act. This is clear from the (Copyright) board’s definition of a stream as a transmission of data that allows the user to listen or view the content at the time of transmission and that is not meant to be reproduced,” the court said in its ruling.

“Unlike a download, the experience of a stream is much more akin to a broadcast performance.”

That decision was linked to another that dealt with software companies that sell their video games online. The court ruled 5-4 that those firms shouldn’t pay royalties for the music that’s featured in those video games every time a consumer downloads it online.

“There is no practical difference between buying a durable copy of the work in a store, receiving a copy in the mail, or downloading an identical copy using the internet,” wrote Justices Rosalie Abella and Michael Moldaver.

Except this is real, we’re the targets, and they’re not a good time blues band, they’re a powerful TV channel with lots of resources and heaps of completely fucked in the head people who tune in every single night, who they will work on 24/7/365 until those very same people really truly believe that, of course, it’s obvious, Maori have always owned the water there was never ever any question whatsoever, that was just a given since the beginning of time and anyone, repeat anyone, who thinks otherwise in anyway whatsoever is clearly a slave owner because to think that way they must own shares in the power companies which makes them a complete and utter racist in every single way and they should be exterminated but to be kinder we’ll just make them pay the poor oppressed owners of the resource that built the power company, a massive dividend for their temerity in investing in the power shares in the first place. They are of course lucky they’re not imprisoned but because, admittedly, TV3 has an ever-so slight leftist leaning, they are therefore humanitarian so therefore, ergo, Q.E.D., they are merciful.

It is a different line from the one the prime minister has been using – that no one owns the water.

Two schools of thought nasska. Google Internet2. This is a university protocol that could be used as an instant replacement to facilitate all the necessary commerce, if Internet 1.0 becomes too inconvenient. If worse came to worst and they had to take Internet 1.0 down, they would prep strategic businesses and the military to make their severs Internet2 compliant, if they haven’t already, and then just leave all the rest of us to it, possibly using it as an opportunity to take over lots and lots of existing business opportunities. That’s for them, the worst case scenario.

For those who don’t know, the internet was developed by DARPA as an unbreakable comms network for use in the event of a nuclear exchange when radiation would prevent radio comms. This is why you could destroy a node or a whole group of nodes say, a country, but the network remains intact. To do this they allowed tom, dick and harry to do anything they liked on it, it was like releasing a virus. Create the seed, let the hosts determine how it spreads.

DARPA however didn’t want to give full power to its competitors and so it designed a fail-safe option, a plug it could pull if required, which are the index servers. These are the servers which resolve the IP addresses and without which the internet cannot function. Last time I looked over ten years ago there were around a dozen of these, in Silicon Valley, New York, Seattle, London, some in eastern Europe, I forget where else. Pull those and the internet goes down. That’s how they replace internet 1.0 with Internet2. Clearly if they did that, they would vet everyone connecting to Internet2, to avoid the issues they now have.

However, to answer the question of: will they want to replace it and if so, when; one has to have an acute understanding of the way they use false propaganda because the current internet format is extremely useful for them, in many, many ways. Not least because there is a perception it’s a “freedom” network. (The fact NSA monitors every single bit of it, isn’t that well known. A lot of revolutionary groups would not know that and would think, tee hee, we can hide our comms in this bit…) But we know from many examples e.g. the Twenty (XX) Committee in WWII, that often they leave networks intact even once they’ve been fully penetrated.

One of the good things going for Internet 1.0 is that disinformation is easy. You can setup shill operations that suck a lot of people in. A lot of people in the conspiracy field for example pay attention to what Alex Jones of Infowars says. I never do, BTW. But a lot of people do. One of a classic intelligence operations is shill diversion and at a country level it’s called false flag.

So there isn’t really an answer, or prediction. It’s a fluid situation. But if for example, you see something like, a nuclear runaway or a banking crisis perpetrated on say, America by say, Iran and blamed on the internet protocols that enabled it, don’t for a minute believe a word of it. What you’re seeing there, is a dual-purpose operation, to take-down two enemies with one stone with no-one pointing the finger at the real culprit. Think they wouldn’t? They already have, many times before.

I think he may have gone to have a wee lie down…..calling down fire, brimstone & thunderbolts tends to take it out of a man.

I do however recall, a year or so back, asking him how far we would have to turn back the dials on the Tardis in order to rediscover our perfect age. It turns out that it was in Britain prior to the Industrial Revolution, when Kings were men, religion ruled & serfs didn’t matter……lets say circa 15th Century.

Nirvana may yet be a shifting goal as I noticed earlier on that he now believes that true decadence didn’t set in until after the 2nd WW. In any case I fear that he who would save us was born in a time which proved to be out of his comfort zone.

I’m not sure what you mean by index server here. I presume you mean the root nameservers. If so, then this had nothing to do with DARPA since DNS didn’t exist when they invented the internet.

Other_Andy – I noticed that on 3 news, they kept repeating that the Crown lawyer disagreed with Key when they kep even mentioning that it was two different things – rights versus ownership.

Maori should have a right to say what should happen with our water and they want recognition of that, fair enough. But most of them also say it’s not an exclusive right, the rest of us have that same right.

Ownership is a different thing.

According to my intelligence from ‘Cut-n-dried Investigations Pty Ltd’ I can’t possibli lose, at all, in any way, so there, times infinity, plus one.

I like those odds.

this had nothing to do with DARPA since DNS didn’t exist when they invented the internet.

So are you saying chiz that DARPA’s job was to deploy an unbreakable comms network but didn’t include the pull plug? I’m happy to accept that but doesn’t equate to how the US does things.

If you were brainy enough to design the internet from an engineering perspective you were probably also brainy enough, at least collectively, to brainstorm the various possibilities it might morph into today.

If DARPA was in on it, this also means the entire scientific brains in the defence community were in on it. This is a serious amount of brains and forecasting power, not to mention unlimited, repeat unlimited implementation resources.

As you appear to expect all Muslim Arabs to have apologised? Or is it just that the ragheads don’t have a CEO who has been forced into a corner after 30 or 40 years of embarassment, necessitating an apology from each of them.

Accepted chiz. 50/50 you’re right in my view. In other arenas it would be higher chance you’re correct but in this, because it’s engineering and defence, then 50/50. But no doubt whatsoever they didn’t entirely predict what it would become otherwise it would not have become what it is. Which is: a real, potential, live, living problem, for them. If they knew that back in 1992, they would never have permitted this today. Definitely.

After a funeral service in the Al-Wasim Mosque in Yarmouk with his coffin draped in the Palestinian flag, Daoud was buried in the Martyrs Cemetery of the Yarmouk Palestinian refugee camp on the southern outskirts of Damascus.
In a condolence letter to Daoud’s family following his death, Chairman of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas wrote, “He is missed. He was one of the leading figures of Fatah and spent his life in resistance and sincere work as well as physical sacrifice for his people’s just causes.”
In 1999, the Palestinian Prize for Culture was granted to Daoud for his book Palestine:From Jerusalem to Munich, in which he describes how he planned and executed the Munich operation. As part of the prize, Abu Daoud was awarded 10,000 French francs.

No one is suggesting that all arabs or all muslims should apoligize.

What is being suggested is that the london Olympics should have a minutes silence in rememberance of Israeli athletes.

That’s ATHLETES – not ALL Islraeli’s who have been murdered.

And that is well overdue!

By the way, King Hussein of Jordan was the only leader of an Arab country to publicly denounce the Olympic attack and called it a “savage crime against civilisation.

What I am getting at thedavincimode is that there are an awfull lot of people (Arabs-Muslims) that quietly agree with what happened.
