All I’m saying is that preists ARE kept away from ALL kids.

Child rapists in NZ ARN’T – although strict rules do apply.

Religion in THIS day does some good in society Griff. That is an ABSOLUTE truth. Visit a hospice, the salvos etc.

And child sex offences committed by priests are NO LONGER HAPPENING at levels that other professions are comitting them at.

In other words Griff, yes former offenders should be held to account, but the ‘bagging out’ of religions and churches because of past child sex offences needs to be placed into perspective: It’s long in the past compared to other professions – like teaching, who are committing them right know.

Unable to control herself, the nurse tried to stop a giggle, but it just came out. And then she started laughing at the fact that she was laughing. Feeling very badly that she had laughed at the man’s part, she composed herself as well as she could. “I am so sorry,” she said.. “I don’t know what came over me. On my honor as a nurse and a lady, I promise That won’t happen again. Now, tell me, what seems to be the problem?”
“It’s swollen,” Bob replied.
She ran out of the room.

A church holds all to a higher morality when it does not act within these higher morals itself it suffers from corruption something that a certain donkey jockey railed against 2000 years ago on the steps of the temple

Griff, whilst any abuse is terrible, the abuse happening in the Church is much less than groups in the rest of secular society (for instance, teachers).
Also, I believe that the whole abuse problem started around the time of the so-called “free love” revolution from the 60s and 70s where some members of the Church were (wrongly) emulating what was happening in rest of society, spearheaded by the counter-culture of the time.

When I was younger, I used to see film and pictures of the 1960s – Woodstock, love-ins, San Francisco etc, and think how cool it all was. I don’t think that way any more. That stuff has done so much damage to society that we can never get back our lost innocence.

Sure, the abuse by members of the Church is wrong, but it didn’t just happen all by itself out of the blue. It was a symptom of what was happening in society at large at the time. And don’t forget (like you always seem to) that the bulk of the abuse was homosexual in nature. It was largely homosexual priests who carried out this abuse.

Luckily, the Church is much more careful with whom in lets in now – personality tests and background checks etc.

Someone who lives in Thailand says that Dotcom is probably banned because he has a thing going called, Megaporn..The Thais have their ladyboys , sex industry etc but like every other country they have their standards and of course their , double standards.

fletch did you read my last comment this abuse has been happening in the catholic church for years to blame it and the cover ups on the secular world is again denial. As to your gay bashing what the fuck has gay got to do with kiddy fiddling. Consenting actions between adults is not rape of children About 4% of the priesthood in the USA have abused children this is well documented with cases going back to the 50s and its still happening now
