Banks resigns as a Minister

The PM has just announced that John Banks has resigned as a Minister following the court decision today that he will face a trial on a private prosecution over his 2010 Mayoral election return.’

The PM has said he will reinstate Banks if he is found not guilty.

This is a good decision. It is a bad look to remain a Minister while awaiting trial.
