Labour showing why they’re a joke party

The Herald reports:

The Labour Party has launched into the controversy surrounding ’s latest restructuring by saying chief executive Theo Spierings should take a voluntary pay cut “to restore credibility with farmers and staff”.

Spierings’ salary has been estimated to be worth about $4 million a year.

“The events of the last week have shaken the farming sector’s confidence in Fonterra, and the chief executive must take responsibility,” Labour’s Primary Industries spokesperson Damien O’Connor said in a statement.

“Theo Spierings should lead by example and voluntarily reduce his pay by half,” he said.

This is almost a sick joke. Is this the best Labour can do? Global dairy prices are falling, so Labour’s policy is to demand the Fonterra CEO cuts his pay in half, as if that is the problem.

Has a party even been more barren of thinking and policies? That’s the best they can do?

Hey the Green co-leaders just restructured the Green parliamentary office. So perhaps the co-leaders should cut their pay in half!
