Ms Bright. Have you ever had the money to pay your rates? If not what word would you use to describe someone who takes services without paying?

So some foreign idiot gets caught at 180 on the Waikato Expressway and thought he was doing 80!
Obviously there are countries where driving licences are issued for bribes rather than driving ability.
We need to know which countries these are and ban their citizens from driving here.

Sheesh – seems like the anonymous Miwibloggers are getting rather desperate with the ad hominem attacks?

Like to put your real names to your posts with photos – so we can see what ‘Greek gods’ you look like?

I anticipate most of you whining lot are male Kiwibloggers?

It seems that personal attacks on the appearance of females with whom you don’t agree politically is a ‘boys club’ thing?

It’s certainly not MANLY – in my opinion.

More to the point – how many of you whining Kiwibloggers are ‘vested interests’ or represent ‘vested interests’ ie: are consultants or private sector contractors – who don’t want the public to be able to ‘follow the dollar’?

Some of you do seem to getting somewhat semi-hysterical in your responses?

But hey!

At least you’re reading and responding to my posts 🙂

What word would you use to describe someone, whom on a voluntary. self-funded basis, was trying to ensure that Auckland Council and Council Controlled Organisations (CCOs) – were held accountable to the ‘Rule of Law’ regarding citizens and ratepayers LAWFUL rights to ‘open,transparent and democratically accountable’ local government?

How many of you whining (male?) Kiwibloggers actually live in Auckland?

How many of you support the (forced) Auckland $upercity amalgamation?

If so – why?

(1) The so-called ‘poverty crisis’ . . .

Even in NZ’s halcyon days of say the 1950s-60s – these various definitions of ‘poverty’ would have captured a broad section of the population.

I suppose the govt could work out a minimum ‘non-poverty’ level of income for every man, woman and child and then no matter who someone is or what they do – everyone gets paid out. Of course – the cost would have to be met somehow.

100s of millions in India don’t have toilets. Real problems are extremely poor diet / lack of food – no electricity – no clean water etc. What percentage of NZ children have access to clean water? Food? Schools? Health services? Clothing? Electricity?

People doing it tough, yes. Struggling, yes. Hardship – poor – yes. Not all parents are equal and therefore not all children will be. A lot of NZ children suffer from being impoverished of parents fit to reproduce and do the best they can for their offspring.

(3) Reckless centreline crossing drivers on open roads – police app – live feed uplinks to a traffic site, illegal road behaviour captured in real time. Oh, and crush their car. Before they crush you in yours.

(4) Sydney to Hobart yacht race. Should I care at all ? TV news seems to think so. There’s clearly not enough of NZ to fill the news with. Overseas news is ok – but it seems like that’s presented as if it’s local. It’s not. Let’s get our own stupid yacht race instead of following someone else’s.

(5) Long distance British rower John Beeden. Rowing 15 hours a day for 209 days. Wow – really ? He looks like he did – the man is ripped up. It comes out as something like 70km per day. Is that even possible ? Crazy. The Filipino work visa slaves on farms shrugged their shoulders. They do about the same without the added luxury of sitting down all day. Beeden receives various job offers from central Otago high country sheep stations.

(6) As seen at local paknsave – young white (dropkick) bloke pulls up after shop has closed on some very small child-sized toy motorbike. No lights, no helmet – and when he re-starts it – it uses a lawnmower style pullcord.

(7) You know you’re a peasant when . . .TV: Green Mile – seen it. Armageddon. Seen it. Seen it. Seen it. Seen it. Maybe if it’s your favourite ever flick you’ll watch it if it’s on TV. What’s the story ? Some people will just watch any old shit on the box no matter what ? No matter how many times they’ve seen it ? What were the ratings for the 1999 screened ad nauseum film ‘The Green Mile’ ? Who was watching Green Mile for the first time ? Who hasn’t seen that a million times before and still thought – yeah, why the hell not ? They had Forrest Gump on – probably because ‘it’s a family classic’ from 1994. Shawshank Redemption. Please !! There must be other films. It’s like going to someone’s house and they’ve got no internet and five f%&king dvds. I like ‘Toys’ with Robin Williams. They played that at some stupid hour. Seen it – now it’s just sort of ok. You get what you pay for – and you get f%&k all. Are they broke ? That’s all we can afford, the same 3-5% of 10+ year old bollocks ever made ?

(8) Does Penny think she might qualify as a leading candidate and deserve equal radio time with Crone and Goff et al ? The only thing she’s ever likely to lead is record rates arrears. Is she number one all time in NZ ?

(9) Chch Cathedral. I shouldn’t care but part of me does. There’s a lovely really cheesy iconic appeal to it that would be a shame to lose. (You should see the Wellington Cathedral. Ugly revolting nothing exterior. The Warehouse would lease it no trouble. Inside is a bit prettier.) Just the history of the Chch Cathedral – it’s the go to symbol, isn’t it ? The face, the heart, the greeting, the friendly welcome. What a lovely place, why look at this religious building. It’s a defining feature, a starting point. Letting it go would be like turning Hagley Park into retirement villages. Or winding up the Crusaders franchise. Or asking Cantabs not to mispronouce ‘Chroistchorch’.
