  Thank you for posting this Manolo, Bartiromo was exactly on the money are why the Dems lost the election (and exactly why Labour have lost three straight NZ elections). The loons on the left spend all their time on ‘transmit’ and are never on ‘receive’.
  
  Their simple problem was so perfectly summed up by Reagan when he said “It’s not that Progressives are ignorant, it’s just that they know so much that isn’t so”.
  
  If you “KNOW” you’re right – you don’t need to listen to the electorate. They just have to listen to their “betters” and vote what’s best for them.

        One can only imagine the unending denunciation and daily ridicule from the likes of Larry “Lackwit” Williams, Paul “Crawler” Henry and Mike “Contra” Hosking if a Labour minister, let alone a Labour prime minister, had a daughter that got up to such antics.
        
        So what does that make her?
        
        It makes her a talentless, spoiled brat who has capitalised as much as she can on the notoriety of her father. She’s by no means the first talent-free offspring of someone famous, or in this case infamous, to install herself in the Hall of Embarrassment. Another day closer to Xmas with a beautiful sunny day in the Waikato. As I have two grandchildren of Maori Decent and would give them whatever i could and would never do anything to hurt them I would like to hear people on this blog define the word Racist for me as i have been called a cowardly racist A/H. This blog is a discussion on Politics and other opinion and I try to give my opinion on many subjects whether right or wrong in other peoples views but to be called a racist I hope I am not.So it would be good to hear what others think on the definition of Racist is.

        … so if you categorise someone as pakeha (ie humans who ethnically are not Maori) then you are racist.

  As per Martin Luther King, Jr., “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character”.
  
  So racism is when you judge people by the colour of their skin (and any other distinguishing physical ethnic features), rather than the content of their (individual) character. Also, while it is not strictly “racism” to judge someone similarly according to religion, gender, sexual orientation…nonetheless it is in the same ballpark. We call it “prejudice”.

Social safety nets existed long before MJS; the difference is this.

Savage made welfare no-fault and universal, which – with the best of intentions, Great Depression and all that – nevertheless weakened the fabric of this country for many decades, and still does.

Prior to Savage, Churches had helped the poor for hundreds of years, but you had to be ‘deserving poor’. You got help and another chance, but not if you were a recalcitrant shit. Children of the incorrigible were taken away and raised properly. It worked well.

In rural areas – most of the country – the famous ‘Women On Horseback’ would descend upon whatever household in their community was experiencing domestic violence, drunkenness etc and sort it out, often with their men providing the muscle. That worked too.

As a third example, farmers all over NZ were required to house and feed, for at least one night, men who were out of work and wandered the rural roads – in return for odd jobs. Good men apparently liked the life… thieves and shirkers died lonely deaths.

Savage didn’t invent welfare; he just made it the State’s job.

People like Shearer don’t know their history and think that nothing can work in New Zealand without a Big Labour Government. I think the reverse is true.

  Savage invented welfare or “social security” as it was then known. What you refer to was known as charity.
  
  Charity was mean, it was miserable & it was administered by Godaddled, condescending arseholes.

    Whatever Dickens wrote fictionally on the subject I feel that he did the concept of ‘charity’ and its reputation as ‘cold charity’ a deal of harm. Charity is still practised on various levels by people giving to organisations like the St Vincent de Paul Society and the Sallies- often by Christians with a valued social conscience. ‘Charitable’ is still a word with positive connotations despite nasska’s sneering attitude.

      Wife’s Grandfather was a member of his Govt.
      Savage visited their home on many occasions. That house hold was Labour to the core.
      Her mother used to accompany her father to all manner of Labour things and to outings where the MP was involved in all manner of things as they are.
      
      One of the last long conversations I had with her was about Savage.
      She rarely spoke ill of people but in that conversation she summed up Savage as “not a nice person”.
      
      He was of course, like many homosexuals, a person who was liked by women. The reason is simply that they in no way threaten the safety or security of women. ( Have observed this among my staff on a number of occasions over the years.).
      
      Savage was really not a nice person.
      If you read up you will find that when he became PM one of his first acts was to make the Cabinet rule that no person who had served in the military was allowed to be a Cabinet Minister.
      
      This was directed at Lee and others who went away to WW.1 and was driven both by his pacifist bent and his removing of a challenger, for Lee became a much more popular man, especially in Auckland, where Labour strongholds were. Interesting that these are now all falling over after all this time.
      My view is that this comes with better education and we will soon see the demise of Labour. I keep asking who will be the beneficiary of the cash and more particularly the assets of the Labour Party when it finally does collapse. Perhaps another group will grow under its banner but changing its name and policy like the various Pacific groups do in religion and they will inherit the assets as they do the churches. ( Kinda reverse takeover stuff of Brierley style.
      
      Labour as it does, was squabbling then as it does today.
      The only time it has been sort off unified was during the Lange/Douglass first term. That got fucked by the Pope.
      
      There is a whole history there that is never spoken of.
      
      Get hold of Lees books and have a read. Interesting stuff.
      
      Savage would walk into a room full of ladies who would swoon over him and his response was always “there now, there now”
      Many men did not like him at all.

        No evidence that Savage was a homosexual (“not that there’s anything wrong with that”). It seems more likely that he was asexual or such a repressed homosexual that he never acted on it.

        The fall-out between Savage and Lee was well-known at the time. And as per Muldoon’s books, he and Lee used to correspond regularly. Hardly surpriisng as they were both ex-servicemen from wrong-side-of-the-tracks families, with the same political hero, R J Seddon.
        
        I seem to recall reading somewhere that Savage, on his deathbed, greeted with joy the news Lee had been expelled. Also Roger Douglas’ dad, Norman, went with Lee into exile, but later returned to the Labour Party fold. According to “The Diary of the Kirk Years” (written by Norman Kirk;s secretary), Norman Douglas’ exclusion from the Kirk cabinet in 1972 (remember, Labour caucuses vote for members of cabinet – a direct result of the Savage-Lee split) was as a result of lasting resentment. Kirk was particularly disappointed as Roger Douglas waselected to cabinet, but his old man’s obvious disappointment took the gloss off what should have been a great day for his son. On being told by Norman Snr. that he “would not forget”, Kirk upbraided him with the observation that that was likely the reason his colleagues saw fit not to elect him to a cabinet post.
        
        Oh, yes, and then there was Savage dropping the furniture in the hallway as soon as he got in the door and out of view of the cameras at the opening of the first state house in 1937! 😉

        Sure. But in 2009 and 2010 the Opposition and media was criticising Key for not borrowing enough, and creating the make-work schemes that were being tried in both Australia and the US. Other than the relative chump-change of a cycleway and insulating homes, Key and English resisted the challenge to go with pump-priming like, say, Obama’s cash for clunkers.
        
        Hence Key is admired by Australians and Americans with the expertise to judge with discernment when they compare their nations’ transition through the GFC to ours. And yet another reason why those who do not consider Key a remarkable and astute manager in difficult time, are, IMHO, mistaken.

I see response to my post yesterday on the Balfour Declaration and the subsequent removal of over 100k British troops to Palestine focused soley on regurgitating the “official”, School Certificate bullshit version version of history on the military aspect but no-one attempted to counter the most extraordinary piece of history which is the the Balfour Declaration, whereby the British Foreign Secretary wrote to Lord Rothschild, offering the territory of Palestine to the zionist Jews as a homeland (when that strip of land had a Jewish population of less than 5% of the time)

Nobody at all seemed to find it odd that Britain “promised” territory she did not possess to a Zionist Jew who “anti conspiracy theorists” claim are nothing more than viticulturalists and successful business owners (despite having control of the World’s Central Banks).

How that piece of land has gone from 5%< Jewish to 75%+ and increasing with strictly enforced racial purity immigration laws including sterilising non Jewish women:

        As for the Balfour Declaration, there are three obvious reasons for Balfour writing to Baron Rothschild:
        1. rally support amongst the Jewish refugees from Palestine in Egypt (to form a proposed Jewish legion)
        2. rally support from the Provisional Government in Russia, of which were many Jewish leaders,
        3. probably most importantly, to get support from the large Jewish population in the United States
        
        I’ve actually read more than the Internet on the subject, particularly Jonathan Schneer’s 2012 book. As mike pointed out, the fact the the British government had also offered Palestine to the Grand Shariff and his sons, demonstrated that the British were trying to do everything to drum up support where-ever it could

A year ago the Kennedy Center held a special tribute concert for Carole King. As great as Carole is, however, it was the legendary Aretha Franklin who stole the show, singing her timeless hit “(You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman”. [1]

Aretha is unimpeachably brilliant of course, but there’s something repellent about the over-the-top reaction shots of selected audience members, who seem to think they are obliged to show the audience just how reverent they are in their worship of the Queen of Soul. Carole King herself, I’m sorry to say, is excruciating in her ridiculous wide-eyed, face-pulling luvvie antics; she starts her performance at the 13 second mark. Sitting behind her is the great cellist Yo-Yo Ma; obviously embarrassed by her shenanigans, he is by the 2:02 mark displaying annoyance and contempt for her.

But even worse is the appalling couple who start an obviously well rehearsed routine of painfully excruciating finger-clicking and head-nodding at 0:46. The man, who has been lambasted for his insincere posturing [2] in the past, even pretends to brush away a tear, so profoundly moved is he by the song. Never has the old truism been truer: guilty feet ain’t got no rhythm.

      Well, just imagine you lived in a country where a hostile police force targeted anyone with European features. Every time you went to the pub, a phalanx of these cops were quite likely to enter and arrest or beat up you and any of your European-looking mates. Maori drinkers—many of them your mates—would furrow their brows, look troubled, and express how disturbed they were at the police actions, but didn’t do anything more in the way of helping you.
      
      There was a small number of ignorant and loud-mouthed Maori talkback hosts who vilified, round the clock, all European-looking people, and the Letters to the Editor column of papers like the Herald were full of vicious anti-European rhetoric.
      
      The police—mainly but not exlusively staffed by violently prejudiced Maori thugs—frequently raided European homes, terrifying small children and insulting their parents and grandparents, looking for “overstayers”.
      
      And a mainstream political party—let’s call it, oh, the Lanoitan Party—ran brutal attacks against Europeans as one of its main election policies.
      
      In a short time, there would hardly have been any Europeans to be seen on the streets of Auckland.
      
      Are you still now unsure why you didn’t see many Pacific Islanders on the streets when the police were cracking down on them?

Fares Shehabi MP, a prominent Syrian Parliamentarian and head of Aleppo’s Chamber of Commerce published the names of the Coalition officers on his Facebook page on the 15th December:

“Thanks to information received, Syrian authorities discovered the headquarters of high ranking western/NATO officers in the basement of an area in East Aleppo and have captured them alive. The nationalities are US, French, British, German, Israeli, Turkish, Saudi, Moroccan, Qatari etc. In light of their nationalities and their rank, I assure you that the Syrian government have a very important catch, which should enable them to direct negotiations with the countries that have tried to destroy them.”

Although these initial reports describe the individuals in question as “NATO” officers, it’s unlikely they would have been carrying NATO colors on a covert operation – and might be more accurately labeled as US Coalition officers. Note that early reports suggest that these are not standard ‘street rebel’ or jihadi terrorists but actual Coalition military personnel and field commanders.

21WIRE also received unconfirmed reports yesterday that militants had fired a missile into the Ramousa area and then tried, unsuccessfully, to get cars out of East Aleppo. It’s possible this incident could be related to today reports of captured western operatives.

“The Security Council is sitting in private on Friday, December 16, 2016, at 17:00 GMT, while NATO officers were arrested this morning by the Syrian Special Forces in a bunker in East Aleppo.”

If true, this latest news would also mean that both the Syrian and Russian governments would have additional leverage going forward in any bilateral negotiations with the US-led Coalition.

If, however, this story is kept under wraps by NATO member governments and summarily blacked out by the US and European media outlets, then it might indicate that a deal has been struck, albeit behind the scenes, for the return of captured NATO operatives in exchange for other concessions.

If today’s report from East Aleppo is accurate, this might also help explain the hysterical behavior by the US State Department and western UN officials who have been demanding “an immediate ceasefire” – despite the fact that 99% of East Aleppo has already been liberated by Syrian government forces.

Nothing here that I can see relating to the news item on Red Radio about the Maori immersion school from Rotorua who spent $700,000 of public money taking 139 students plus 21 staff and 73 support people on a trip to Hawaii to trace their roots. They raised something like $37,000 themselves but all of the rest came from the public purse. The auditor general has raised the issue and the school claims that they got permission from the ministry to spend the money. WHERE is the outrage??

      Another school that featured in the report for an overseas school trip:
      
      Hauturu School (2015) – The school incurred expenditure of $24,796 sending 14 students and five adults on a trip to Australia’s Gold Coast and only received contributions of $2,020. The school did not keep complete records of expenditure and revenue for this trip, and the educational outcomes for the trip were unclear.

That amount of money would go a long way to help the parents of special needs children who do not get ORRS support. Acquaintances with two severely autistic children are having to pay for classroom support themselves, at a cost of $600-700 per week. I told you about this CIA contract the other week:

It’s been a rough couple days for The Washington Post. Word emerged that hackers invaded its internal system—for a few days, no less—all of its staffers had to change their passwords as the company tried to figure out how much data had been compromised.

Meanwhile, a petition campaign was launched related to news that Amazon, under the Post’s new owner, Jeff Bezos, recently secured a $600 million contract from the CIA. That’s at least twice what Bezos paid for the Post this year. Bezos recently disclosed that the company’s Web-services business is building a “private cloud” for the CIA to use for its data needs.

Critics charge that, at a minimum, the Post needs to disclose its CIA link whenever it reports on the agency. Over 15,000 have signed the petition this week hosted by RootsAction.

In a statement released by the Institute for Public Accuracy, media writer/author Robert McChesney observes:

When the main shareholder in one of the very largest corporations in the world benefits from a massive contract with the CIA on the one hand, and that same billionaire owns the Washington Post on the other hand, there are serious problems. The Post is unquestionably the political paper of record in the United States, and how it covers governance sets the agenda for the balance of the news media. Citizens need to know about this conflict of interest in the columns of the Post itself.

If some official enemy of the United States had a comparable situation—say the owner of the dominant newspaper in Caracas was getting $600 million in secretive contracts from the Maduro government—the Post itself would lead the howling chorus impaling that newspaper and that government for making a mockery of a free press. It is time for the Post to take a dose of its own medicine.”

Before buggering off from KB for my usual summer break there’s a couple of items I thought I’d drop for summer digestion by others and this one’s for you (basically since I know nobody else will be interested 🙂 )

Saw a doco on Netflix the other night, Fastball, which went into the history and science of fastball pitching in baseball.

One of the amusing moments was talking with past great batters about the rare “rising fastball” from a few (only a few) of the great fastball pitchers in history. A couple of physicists (also baseball fans) noted that it was not possible; spin the ball fast enough and it might rise in the same way a curveball bends through the air, but that’s not the way a fastball is thrown. They pointed out that what’s probably happening is that a pitch at really high speeds – 98-102mph – will naturally not have dropped as much as the hand-eye system of the batter expects. They swing under it and therefore think it climbed. Asked about this, Hank Aaron smiled and said he wasn’t going to argue with scientists – but some pitchers I’ve known could make the damned ball rise!!!

One of the coolest parts of the doco was finding out that even a hundred years ago, efforts were made to measure the speed of pitchers. It was the first time I’d heard such, the more usual comment about “the ancients”, being that in watching film of them it was clear that most were not pitching at express train speeds, which was why they could last nine innings and years in the Majors. They did show one film from 1939 where they ‘tested’ the great Bob Feller by having a police motorcycle cop tear past him at 86mph towards a large paper screen. As the bike passed him, Feller would pitch. It’s quite impressive to see Feller’s fastball pass the motorcycle and break through the screen before the bike does. They figured it as 98.6mph! Probably a bit wonky but it means he’d fit perfectly well in today’s game.

However, the first real test had occurred almost thirty years earlier and it was, of course, ‘The Big Train’, Walter Johnson. The US Army Ballistics Centre did the test. A screen of thin copper wires was placed at home plate. Walter’s pitch broke the wires, and tripped a clock that stopped when the ball hit a screen placed fifteen feet further back. The test had him at 134 feet per second – 91mph!

Then they did a real test of Feller in 1946 once he’d returned from WWII, getting to pitch at through some weird, triangular box device using light beams that – again – the US Army had developed for ballistics tests. That actually confirmed the pre-war motorcycle test – 98.6mph.

After that they jumped to the first use of radar in the 1970’s and naturally that was the famous test of Nolan Ryan which went into the Guiness Book of Records at 100.9? I remember seeing that as a little kid and being amazed that the guy was still pitching when I first went to the States in the mid-80’s. And of course they covered Aroldis Chapman and his 105.1 mph fastball when he was with the Yankees.

But what they then did was adjust for the different measurements. Chapman’s data is based on the radar measuring the now standard 10 feet from the pitcher’s mound, whereas Johnson’s was effectively measured 7.5 feet behind the plate, Feller’s at the plate, and Ryan’s, 10 feet in front of the plate. Once they adjusted it came out as (from memory):

Ryan – 108.1 mph
Feller – 107.6 mph
Chapman – 105.2 mph
Johnson – 102.3 mph

So there you have it: Nolan Ryan still on top. The doco showed his final game before he retired, when he finally “felt something pop” after 25 years in the majors. His final fastball before that was 98mph – at 46 years of age. Talk about a bionic arm!

  Wonder what Sandy Koufax in his prime would have clocked? Also, the theory that a fastball cannot rise, but rather doers not fall-off in its trajectory sounds like the optical illusion where sprinters accelerate in the last 70 metres of a 100m sprint. Whereas the experts say, what is really happening is that, say, Usain Bolt, is decelerating at a slower rate. 😉
  
  You do wonder about speed throughout the ages. For example, in cricket, I’m not so sure Harold Larwood of cricket’s ‘Bodyline’ fame was as quick as a Jeff Thomson, or Shaoib Akhtar. Speaking of Larwood, his primary target, Don Bradman had a really interesting chapter in his brilliant The Art of Cricket, written in the 1950s. The Don, curious, practical and intelligent man that he was, interacted with the knowledge of physics of the time, which said a cricket ball cannot “swing”…whereas any cricketer knew this was not the case.
  
  Back to baseball. What would the Big Train have clocked? You look at that wonderful physique, with those long-orangutan arms, and you suspect, even without modern training and measuring methods, he must have been fast. But even better than that, good. Like the scout who discovered him wrote to the Washington Senators:
  
  You better come out here and get this pitcher. He throws a ball so fast nobody can see it and he strikes out everybody. His control is so good that the catcher just holds up his glove and shuts his eyes, then picks the ball, which comes to him looking like a little white bullet, out of the pocket. He’s a big, 19-year-old fellow like I told you before, and if you don’t hurry up someone will sign him and he will be the best pitcher that ever lived. He throws faster than Addie Jones [Joss] or Amos Rusie ever did, and his control is better than Christy Mathewson’s. He knows where he’s throwing because if he didn’t there would be dead bodies strewn all over Idaho.”

    In writing my comment I did a bit of checking and found that Koufax was likely pitching in the low 90’s and almost certainly never got above 95. It’s one of the delights that you can enjoy watching a Chapman at work with 100mph+, but also enjoy watching a Kendrick at 91mph tops!
    
    And of course those “adjusted” speeds have to make assumptions that the US Army equipment of 1913, 1917 and 1946 were well calibrated!
    
    Was driving most of yesterday and for once ended up listening to “Sports Talk”. In the discussion about the AB-Irish test loss in Chicago all the commentators raved about that week and the good spirits after the game between all the AB and Irish supporters – mixed in with what they witnessed from the locals with regard to the Cubs. I was surprised when they all agreed that it was one of the greatest weeks in sport that any of them had experienced – and that included World Cup wins and the like with the AB’s.
    
    As for me – well I’m still floating in a golden haze!!! I’ll be interested to see what happens next year: I’m sure the Cubs will be in the post-season, and I expect that to be the case for the next few years until age and injury wear down the young staff. Hopefully they’ll collect two or three more WS championships before that happens, but I’d be amazed if they won back-to-back championships. That’s pretty rare these days as the competition has evened out. No more dynasties like the Yankees of the 30’s and 50’s!     I’m well aware that one of Trump’s campaign platforms was for the government to spend hugely on fixing up US infrastructure. He’s forever been negging the state of US airports and highways compared to China.
    
    I was making two points. The first was that he’s never referred to it as a “stimulus plan” because that would bring up too many bad memories among his supporters of the ill-fated 2009 Obama-Democrat effort (which many of them largely opposed), and also because his implied claim is that his spending plan is different – somehow. The second point I was making was that the fact that Chuck and the Democrats love this idea so much should put Trump on guard and give him second thoughts – but probably won’t. Keynesian Government spending = populism. Trump is the latter but supposedly is concerned about “waste” in the former.
    
    That’s okay though: it’ll get watered down in Congress by the GOP, who have no intention of doing exactly what Reid and Pelosi did and blowing a trillion dollars on “infrastructure investment”. They saw what happened last time and it was as predicted; straight down the toliet with no measurable impact on the economy at all.

The whole strategy behind the AIIB and the New Silk Road projects is to link China to Russia and from there China to the EU. That’s the new architecture of this century and the US isn’t needed and isn’t invited.
  
  Trump is definitely going to try playing off Putin against Xi that’s for sure, that’s obvious from his picks, but neither of the targets are going to be joining the US game. This leaves an obvious opening for Putin to exploit and what might he do there will be interesting to witness.

Speaking of lazy and useless I see there’s yet another analysis out of how Hillary lost the election (WARNING: it’s not the “alt-right”, “fake-news”, James Comey, or Vlad the Impaler).

I more appreciated the following comments on it from right-winger commentator, Ed Morrissey:

Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential operation had the same problems — a top-down strategy that ignored advice from people who knew the voters, and a data operation built on assumptions that didn’t have a basis in reality. Hillary 2016 is practically a replay of the Romney team’s issues, in Dovere’s telling.

Hillary’s team added a level of arrogance that can only be described as remarkable, under the circumstances.

You’d think a person who’d already lost a ‘sure-thing’ election in 2008 would have learned, especially since she got to pick up the machinery of the guy who beat her and then used it to win two Presidential elections. But no….

Door knocking? Pass. Literature? Pass. Dovere relates a story about the Clinton campaign telling a potential volunteer that lawn signs and canvassing were “unscientific,” whatever that means in terms of politics. Only in the final days of the campaign did Hillary’s team put significant effort into GOTV. Thanks to that failure, they had no way to check their assumptions on polling or turnout models, and no time to adjust to fix the problems that emerged on Election Day.

Now that’s interesting, since I looked at the number of offices she had open in battleground states and the number of people working and naturally assumed it meant a powerful GOTV effort! It wasn’t and so I wonder what the hell those folks were doing?

There is one note of caution – and in a sense it relates back to the reason I placed my bet with Fentex in August 2015, that whoever won the GOP nomination would beat Hillary; that Hillary was fucking useless as a campaigner in almost every facet of the game. My bet was not so much who would win, but that she would lose, and so…

Dovere notes that Trump won Michigan while getting 30,000 fewer votes than George W. Bush did in a losing effort in 2004 (it’s closer to 35,000). Trump may not have won those “blue wall” states as much as Hillary lost them. If Trump runs for re-election in 2020 and draws a Democrat with more competence, he’ll have a tough time winning those states again unless he also learns the same lessons from the 2012 election.

Hubris and arrogance are not confined to one side of the political spectrum.

The Christmas Tree is set – little thanks to the elder two spawn, only my youngest has gladdened my heart as he helped my beloved hang the ornaments to the sounds of Bing Crosby and the the Academy of St Martin in the Fields.

The house has been dressed in best Chicago-snow-is-falling-and-it’s-dark-lighting fashion.

The hammock awaits, the beers are cold. The books to be read:

I’m somehow reminded of a time when Dad sent me up one ridgeline with one mutt to gather up a few stray old biddies for the usual Spring run down the road for shearing. Job done, I found a comfortable stump to lie down on in the sun. The Old Man was both pissed off/amused when he arrived in the Land Rover a couple of hours later to find his useless 16 year old son sound alseep – with the mutt beside me in similar mode.

Well Y’all, between other tasks today I have been doing some digging on our ole mate Mossey.

He was right, no-one in his family is guilty of hair pulling. There other skeletons in the closet…

Morrissey is as expected is not his real name, to respect DPFs rules I won’t expose that.

You might be interested to know however that his great aunt had only one sibling, a sister, that one sister had 1 child, a son who had two children… stay with me trendsetters….

A girl named Penelope and a son who used the handle Mossy on several blogs, Facebook and even twitter in 2012. Mossy however managed to get himself banned at different times from every single blog site he commented on for behaviour that can generally be described as being a cock. The daughter was a very successful activist and was almost mayor on Auckland on several occasions.

The Paternal side of the story was also interesting, 3 children all with distinct sexuality,

The father on Mossy and his sister was a disappointing rugby player who thought he was better than most, unfortunately selectors didn’t agree and that lead to two interesting outcomes, firstly both father and son became ardent critics of the game and in particular the All Blacks, Mossy has some very interesting posts if you care to search them up. Secondly they both took up blogging as a means to reach a wider audience with their thoughts, as the eldest sibling the father used that as his online name.

The middle child, our friends auntie, was somewhat successful as a politician in several parties in NZ, she currently runs a restaurant in Auckland and looks to be returning to politics in 2017.

The youngest sibling is also a blogger, an angry and bitter trans-sexual with an awful sense of humour.

Regardless of Mossy and his immature attack on JK kids this morning I won’t mention his children, however it is fair to say family history doesn’t shine brightly on them, however sometimes life throws a curve ball which can be rather humourless, so when a certain Max Key introduces a love interest which has been building quietly in the background expect her father, grand father and a few others in the family to be blogging very very unhappily!!

I’ve previously noted that Redbaiter has praised Morrissey as “one of the few left wingers who generally played with a straight bat”. On that same thread KG said: “A few more people like Morrisey around, and some dialogue between left and right might be possible”. Rare praise from two bloggers who hate lefties!

Personally, while I disagree with a lot of what Morrissey says, I think he brings a different perspective to Kiwiblog.

  I assumed the same about Mossy, he has even linked his full ‘name’ and suburb here via letters to the editor.
