  Yet more horror in the escalating catalogue of terror attacks in our formerly peaceful lands yet still those who rule over us keep in bringing in the military age males in by the thousands on a daily basis while at the same time ramping up the police state & the MSM barrage of “hate” against those of us who point out this lunacy is destroying us.
  
  The truth is we are having a type of warfare so effective, that despite paying for the invaders, feeding them and them raping our women (that’s what military conquerors do)only a small percentage of the population even realises we are under attack.
  
  A type of warfare where even less of the population can even identify the enemy. A type of warfare so comprehensive and diabolical, that after our fall, the enemy can present themselves and be accepted as our saviors.
  
  Waking people up to the new type of warfare being waged against Western Civilisation is very difficult because it destroys one’s whole world paradigm.
  
  Waking up to the reality of The Fall of Western Civilisation gives one the feeling of standing in quicksand. Furthermore, the language used when communicating the wake up call has effectively been labeled as “hate speech” or “lunatic”.
  
  Quite a dilemma us “extemists” find ourselves in…..

        I presume your use of “localised” means the invasion of Iraq. However, ISIS with its presence in Iraq and Syria, has its direct source in the invasion.
        
        I think you will find that most foreign policy experts would put the invasion of Iraq as the worst foreign policy decision by a US president since the end of WW2.
        
        Nothing Obama did (or did not do) is remotely comparable. Libya is relatively small beer in comparison.

        And the work they do do is low paid unskilled , at a time when automation for that type of work is increasing.

        This has happened 3 times in the 8 MMP elections. How many more times does it have to happen before there is enough support to change the ‘settings’.

Meth testing: $52m on an irrational fear

Irrational fear about trace elements of meth has driven the Government to waste $52 million on testing and housing repairs. Health experts tell Baz Macdonald the money would be much better spent finding and fixing mould and asbestos that kill tenants.

NZ Drug Foundation president Ross Bell said the science does not back up the need for such an industry and it has played on the fears of New Zealand people in order to make a profit.

Massey University applied environmental chemist Dr Nick Kim has been involved with this issue since 2010 when he was consulted on the original guidelines constructed by the Ministry of Health on the remediation of meth laboratories.

He, like many of the nearly 2000 other scientists who submitted on the meth testing standard instituted this year, believes this industry is unnecessary and there is little scientific justification for the level of scrutiny meth contamination is receiving.

  If you do get a positive test in a rental or new home a simple wash with sugar soap will clean surfaces sufficient to remove the contamination.
  
  One would have to ask is there a flow of money/benefit between Housing NZ staff ,Testers and those doing remedial work?

  I talked to a building inspector a while back and he told me the meth inspection business has been nearly as good for the building business as the ‘leaky buildings’ hysteria.
  
  For leaky buildings, if you know where to test you can pretty much always guarantee a result which can be conflated sufficiently to justify massive whole of building remediation rather than just the localised repair work that in most cases would suffice.

      Plenty of time for them to work out how the hell they got there and what they can do to get the missing faithful back.

      – back off the brownmail pandering and keep your promise to rid us of the Maori seats
      – back off the introduction of potential terrorists via the UN funded ~~muslim terrorist export~~ refugee program
      – back off the insanity of PC wage equity virtue-signalling
      – address the RMA properly
      – deal with the broken local government system
      – back off Climate Alarmism and the IPCC wealth redistribution scheme

  NZF can only have the aspirations to be invited to assist National to govern by agreeing to confidence and supply.
  
  National have first go at dealing with whom they will. Not the other way around. Winston cannot go to the Governor General and say he is willing to form a government. That right belongs to the party that gained the most seats in the election.
  
  The timing outrage is a media one too. There is nothing new: the votes have always been about a fortnight in counting and checking. If Jacinda knows her constitutional manners she will know Bill English gets first turn in attempting to get the members together to give National confidence and supply. Five days after the writs would be be a very reasonable time to have this concluded.
  
  Government still continues meanwhile.

      Exactly. The PM is the first person to reach an agreement that gives them the support of 61 votes in Parliament. How those votes are made up is irrelevant and nobody has the right to go first.

        The convention is not a free for all. The GG after the writs are returned is obliged to call firstly the leader of the party with the largest number of elected members; presumably with MMP their list members would be included too. That person can expect a reasonable time and opportunity to act.
        
        Voting totals and blocs are irrelevant.

    The timing outrage is one caused by The Electoral Act 1996. As a piece of legislation it reflects more the thinking of the period immediately post WWII rather than the end of the 20th Century. It is a nonsense that special votes cast in embassies/consulates abroad must first be returned to the Returns ng Officer of the constituency in NZ before they can be tallied. Then we get the nonsense that WP engages in. Hardly signs of a mature democracy.
    By contrast, usually in the UK, polling day is Thursday, polls close at 10pm, and the new PM (if there is a change of government) is invited by the Queen to Buckingham Palace to confirm that they have the confidence of the House to form a government. The new PM then arrives in Downing Street on the Friday afternoon. So the change of government is all happening within 24 hours. Not like our situation. It reminds me somewhat of the mess in 1984.

  and
  – vapid Labour Lite

  The Greens don’t seem to want to govern by actions, they want to govern by ideals. I thought when they voted in favour of the budget earlier this year they were past that and were willing to be pragmatic and compromise.

  The Spanish Govt & Police have set a dangerous precedent by using force to deny a democratic vote thus legitimizing the citizens right to use violence against its Government and police. Such Govt action against its own people however is entirely consistent with their EU masters at the commission whose clear intent is an integrated Europe by use of laws backed up by force. Laws are at best temporary and should be reflective of the majority view of its citizens and were they are not so will be either ignored and therefore unenforceable or overturned by peaceful or violent means, history shows this clearly.

Isn’t that typical of our over-regulated society. You can join the defence forces at 17 – but you can’t be a truck driver.

“Our graduated licence system, we’ve had it since 1999 … it takes far too long and takes far too much money. It’s not a true reflection of the skill base. Even if you’re a competent driver, you can’t progress. We’re hoping there will be progress once a government’s formed.”

Shirley said young people traditionally had come into the industry straight from school, but “the whole pipeline that feeds into our industry is choked because of this time constraint and delays…You’re 21 before you can get a heavy truck licence whereas in earlier days, 18 years olds were driving trucks.”

Consequently, we’re recruiting overseas, with one company looking for 200 drivers, calling them the ‘Holy Grail’, and stating it will push up transport costs.

Of course, they could pay drivers more to attract them as well – especially with CEOs earning $160k a week. But why does NZ put huge obstacles in the way of non-intellectual youth making a living and contributing to the country, rather than looking for immigrants? You have to say, ‘what is wrong with this country’?

Labour made such a big deal of helping young people to get a driver’s licence. National clearly needs to be sponsoring this further into work experience, ‘apprenticeships’ or internships into truck driving.

    We’re talking about education and training – and, preferably, paying drivers according to skills and competence. They’re in the defence force, in the Fire Service – more to the point, they vote to choose the government overall.
    
    If we don’t know how to or can’t train a truck driver, we might as well give up. This is western society being too ‘precious’. Are they ‘adults’ or are they not?
    
    Must all 18yr olds either be ‘intellectual’ or in jobs with no skills at all just in case they might be irresponsible? Age is no guarantee of maturity, responsibility, or skills. As ever, it’s up to adults to impart them appropriately – and value them accordingly.

      I disagree Ann – age, if not a guarantee is a strong indicator of maturity and I do not believe that the majority of 18 year olds have the necessary judgment to drive a fully laden logging truck on rural roads. The Army and the Fire Service are different beasts with young recruits under the tutelage of NCOs (or the Fire Service equivalent) not just whilst on the job but 24/7 under strict discipline. An 18 year old soldier with a couple of years Army life under his/her belt is a totally different proposition to his/her civilian counterpart.

        Firstly, I’ve driven for a very long time, and professionally for a living, and I know beyond all doubt that age is not necessarily an indicator of maturity or especially skill, inside or outside of the trucking industry.
        
        Secondly, I know at that age I was mature enough to drive a truck – because I was committed to learning driving skills.
        
        Thirdly, they don’t have to drive ‘a fully laden logging truck on rural roads’ – and that certainly does not describe the job of all truck drivers. As I say, there is ‘education and training’ and levels of competence, as there is in any profession.

    At least it’s better than it was. Back in the 60s I, as a just 18 year old, was given a heavy truck license on the basis of driving an old 5 ton Ford Thames around the block (all left turns). To save me coming back he added the articulator and heavy trailer as well.
    From that day on until I let it lapse four years ago due to the expensive medical check required I was licensed to drive a full-sized Kenworth road train.
    Probably a good thing that I never took advantage of it.

    I had a HGV 3 a lifetime ago, just basic trucks and the like.
    If I wanted to go up to HGV 2 or HGV 1 and drive “artics” and other heavier vehicles I could have, but didn’t as driving 10 tonners was what I did at that time.
    Best thing was get a PSV so you could drive busses, always find some work somewhere.

  The problem is not ability it is temperament. Young men despite their reaction times and spatial awareness being better than for any other group are far more susceptible to indulging in impatient and risky behaviour and it is hardwired by evolution. On average they are worse drivers for that reason alone. Of course there are lots of exceptions – but how could you screen for that in testing?

‘I’m fed up with being offered a ****job when walking my dog’

The NZ Herald article describes residents’ six-year battle to move sex workers from outside their Christchurch homes.

The problem:

In their gardens and around their properties, residents have found needles and syringes, human faeces, used condoms, and litter. Vandalism to houses and cars have been reported, as well as thefts. One elderly couple found a prostitute “servicing a client” on their lawn at 3am and when they asked them to leave, had their car vandalised. Attempts to ask the prostitutes to move on are often met with threats and intimidation, locals say.

One resident launched a petition to get the council to ban prostitutes soliciting in residential areas through the introduction of a bylaw. The police initially supported the proposed bylaw but then changed their mind.

Last week’s move [the council and police announced that they no longer support the proposed bylaw] was supported by Prostitute’s Collective coordinator Catherine Healy who said it was a “forward-thinking decision”. Healey said it was better to manage sex workers with street lighting and cameras, rather than new rules.

When people start pimping for Sir Winston and Lady (Jan) Peters under the guise of UTU for perceived deeds against a deceased relative who was really voted out of office by the N P regions south of Auckland outside Auckland.

From time to time W O H B does a brilliant job. And WOHB (like KB) has been treated unfairly by the Hager loving media. One can understand some on going antipathy toward Boag (forget her maiden and first marriage names), but to now extend this to W English is silly. The nadir of comment on the current political divide was reached this morning, It illustrates the danger of seeking, albeit by the strangest of strategies, to promote and polish the star of an MP who, outside Auckland, will never garner more than minor support as a potential NP leader

The world has moved on since Boag played her games and won. The country needs English and Joyce to see it through the gathering storm clouds.

This is hilarious. Bill English just got a lesson in how unimportant he really is. I’ll bet I can get Winston to answer the phone. Perhaps if Bill wasn’t such a vindictive arsehole I might be able to assist him…oh…yeah, nah.

To some politics is a game and they enjoy it as a sport. Most New Zealanders have a different view and believe perceived slights should now be put aside. Time to move on.

The main contest was between Slater senior and Boag. The issue was cleaning out perceived “past use by” date MPs and senior NP officials. It was a real scrap, perhaps more so than Chapman v Holt. But the time has come to let it go, to move on.

If you are a child of a Muslim Christian marriage, it is not officially recognised by the Syrian authorities. And in Syria, you’re not given citizenship if your parents’ marriage is not officially recognised.
