It is an interview of Professor Jordan Peterson by MSM “intellectual” Cathy Newman where he utterly eviscerates every single one of her PC doctrines and causes her to lose her mind as every single one of her received Marxist learnings is dismantled and her shrill “comeback” techniques is shown up for the joke they are.

It is so compelling and monumental that James Delinpole describes the 29 minute interview as nothing less than: “the pivotal victory in the culture wars — an incident in which the weaknesses of the regressive left have never been more cruelly or damningly exposed”

I’ve watched it 3 times now and he gives an absolute masterclass on how to deal with the ideological Left. Never apologise, never back down, never allow them to frame the debate in their own terms. Use facts not emotion.

They simply aren’t used to dealing with someone like this and cannot handle it. If more “Right wing” politicians could learn to debate like this man, we might start to see a fightback against the destructive shibboleth of Political Correctness.

      From what I understand, people use the term cultural marxism to describe SJW, intersectonal feminist ideology about how there are disadvantaged and advantaged groups in society. Why is cultural marxism or “neomarxism” an accurate description of that and not just misleading anti-marxist bias? Many “SJWs” have nothing to do with marxism and are neoliberals or social liberals.
      What’s wrong with the theory that there are some disadvantaged groups in society? Regardless of the actions of SJWs, there is clearly some merit in that notion.         Strawman. There’s nothing wrong with that theory at all, everyone is disadvantaged, some more so than others but lumping people into groups is the real problem.

        So has the outcomes of calling people stupid names. People are free to change their names if they are disadvantaging them.         Why is it bad to recognize that some groups are more disadvantaged than others in society?
        
        Because people are individuals made up of many different components and group think always ends badly no matter how well intentioned the purpose.
        
        What specific western values are being undermined?
        
        Freedom? By implemented legislative group thinking like gay rights, subjective personal pronouns, DNA based additional rights you destroy any element that you are a person, unique to yourself and that you’re free to be as successful as you can be (not as successful as anyone else). Life is a struggle, get over it, no matter how many “disadvantaged” groups you want to be a part of.

        I went looking through pages and pages of twitter comments to find the “misogynistic abuse” and all I found was a universal acknowledgement that at minimum she was unprepared and embarrassed, generally it was a car crash of an interview and at worst should look for a new career. She is Channel 4’s star journalist but she made the horrible error if intending to school rather than interview Peterson. There is no positive she can take from that interview and the fact that the only line of defence her employer is running is “someone is saying rude words in the comments” (1.6% of comments on YouTube or something equally inane) says it all, there is no other defence than “the patriarchy don’t like me!”

        Most TV interviewers arent that bright, they have an earpiece whispering them cues as well.
        Hosking is a good example – left high school with UE to work as copywriter in advertising. Im sure he would admit hes no intellectual giant, but experience and diligence means hes good at what he does- which is not coming across as a smartypants.

  I see the response by the left is to say that Newman has been threatened by Peterson supporters and they are having to provide her with security. This is the same tactic that the left used in Canada when Peterson came out against a proposed law in Canada that made it illegal to call some one (Trangenders) by a Gender specific term they did not agree with. He had demolished the Gay spokesperson in a TV interview using the same logical tactics as he did against Newman.

    My favourite exchange of the interview was:

    – “I’m only provocative in so far as I only say things I believe to be true and some people find that provocative”
    
    I’d actually never heard of Peterson until 4 days ago so I can’t suggest any more of his material. I’d suggest giving the commentator “Millenial Woes” a try see if you like his style. He’s not an academic like Peterson but it’s enjoyable listening to him dismantle the ludicrous Zeitgeists of our age.

      So you cite one negative review and post that as it suits your narrative. Try watching more of his lectures then try and dispute his logic and credibility with actual counter arguments of your own.
      As for the alt-right angle; that is beyond facile and just reinforces Petersons point that such is the moral and intellectual weakness of the post modernist left that their only response tends to be the use of negative labeling. Sound familiar?

      I followed your link, read the whole review, and discovered the book had 50 positive reviews, 5 negative reviews and an average rating of 4.5 stars out of 5.
      
      Perhaps this is one of those attack reviews by cultural warriors who like to discredit authors whose ideas threaten them, even when they haven’t read the book.
      
      Has stephieboy cherry-picked the worst review he could find? Of course not! That would be foolish speculation because stephieboy is an honorable man who would never mislead KB readers.

  Thank you EAD_TWO. I’d been aware of this interview (including noticing that Jordan Petersen had defended the dumb bint and asked that all the abuse that has gone her way stop) but I hadn’t actually stopped to listen.
  
  My main problem was that I felt the species got progressively stupider every time that moronic woman opened her mouth (the same kind of effect one gets every time SB or MM or sam green comments here).
  
  Anyway thanks for flagging this. It is a brilliant demolition of the nonsense of the Left – kind of embarrassing that the (not that much lamented) ~~National~~ Labour Lite government started the ball rolling on closing the faux gender gap on the sort of uni-variant analysis the moronic C4 interviewer based her whole attack on.
  
  Personally I disagree with the infinitely decent Prof Peterson, that cretinous women deserves the heaped opprobrium resulting from such a disgusting sexist performance in a supposedly unbiased TV interview.

        Surely you know that part of the Crimes Act where recording of individuals conversations is illegal.

    And, a practical question – are the relevant government departments allowed to report the details of on-going investigations to the media (I’m assuming it’s ongoing)? It wouldn’t surprise me if there were privacy issues that tied their hands. I could be wrong on that, so happy to be corrected.

      SGA: You raise a valid point. In my view, the Privacy Act is the most misquoted and misinterpreted piece of legislation in New Zealand. It is frequently offered as an excuse in circumstances where it provides none.
      
      The most important thing to remember is personal information about me (or you, or anyone else) belongs to me and no-one else. Similarly the right to disseminate that information – or not as the case may be – belongs to me and no-one else.
      
      Against that background, if Turei wishes to disclose that she has or has not repaid her debt, that is entirely up to her. Certainly MSD could probably not release that information without her consent but she can, and if she ever cites “the Privacy Act” as the excuse why she can’t, she’s bullshitting. To be fair, she has not done that; she has simply said nothing, which of course is her right.

      MSD are required under the ‘no suprises’ principal to keep Minister Sepuloni informed of any processes underway in the Dept that are likely to create media attention (like the outcome of the MeTu investigation).
      
      I would’ve thought many MSD Ministers’ weekly reports will contain updates on how the case is progressing. Why aren’t the MSM asking for these?
      
      The interesting point will come when there is tension between the Privacy Act’s concerns about the individual’s privacy rights and the OIA’s objectives on openness. There are massive public interest elements at play but I’d bet the Ombudsman will wimp out again (like with the secret coalition papers) and defer to MeTu’s privacy concerns in a very different way to how other individuals’ privacy rights are viewed

  Parliament allowed a self-confessed fraudster to remain a sitting Member while the extent of the fraud was not established , nor whether because of that the Member still had the right to be a Member.
  
  Likewise her Party rallied around her, except for two members who left, again with no knowledge of the extent of offending.
  
  Issues presented by this situation, as to whether Metiria Turei mis-lead Parliament in any of her comments, while the extent of her offending was never established, or whether the other Green Co-Leader also offended, remain unaddressed.
  
  Even if Turei is now beyond Parliament’s domain, those still there have to answer the questions raised by this issue.
  
  Unsubstantiated reportage indicated Turei received at least $80,000 from the baby’s father’s family over a 4 year period, which if true would mean Metiria’s claims she was saving her baby from starving, misled Parliament (whether the explanation was uttered there or not) and the Electorate in general. This information may be hearsay, where as Metiria’s portrayal of “I did it for my baby” is her say.

    It is still not clear who in Parliament – the Governor General, Speaker of the House or the Janitor – determines whether rubbish should be taken out. When a Member confesses to a crime, who should verify the exact extent of it, so its seriousness, and whether that effects the Member’s right to remain. 
    Because of the Privacy Act it is up to Metiria as to whether she discloses anything further.
    
    What Metiria did was claim a greater understanding of Welfare fraud because she herself had by circumstances been forced into it.
    She condones welfare fraud, but does not define a limit.
    Or allow you to evaluate her actions by giving any figure.
    
    At the time of her admission, she also claimed to not know the amount herself.
    Which means she did not precisely evaluate her actions at the time, nor seem bothered to work it out during the twenty years since.
    
    She sought to control my thinking on welfare fraud when she made her initial admission, but now she provides no amount to further inform my thinking. Her grand plan is either totally dishonest, or incomplete – so I draw my own conclusions.

    To top it off he lied to the public about what happened. ( refuted he had made a recording!)
    
    Instead of expelling him from caucus, they allowed his renomination to go ahead.

Interesting to spend time yesterday with friends who are very much Labour supporters but clearly already sick of the MSM Jacinderella baby fixation. ‘You’d think that no-one had ever got pregnant before’ seemed to be the general theme.

Little support for the party line that Winston was only recently informed of the pregnancy either. The overwhelming opinion was that his imminent elevation to PM status, no matter how temporary, was part of the hidden coalition agenda.

  There really is no shelf-life for mass-produced seedlings… if they remain another year in their containers/beds they will become root-bound and possibly nutrient deficient.
  It would be uneconomical to repot or root prune each seedling .

  It is a joke, there are only 4 million seedlings available to plant, and the government has taken them all…that is still 96 million seedlings short for the first year.

  So from these two statements, does it mean –
  
  1 – Coalition planters have 4 million of the seedlings that non-coalition planting would otherwise plant, so they will only plant 46 million trees this period, not the usual 50 million – thus, coalition inaction has actually lead to a 4 million decrease already in the number of trees normally planted.
  
  2 – If non-coalition planters have ready planted their full 50 million quota for this period, what do they know about perhaps more appropriate planting time, considering coalition planters have only just acquired 4 million seedlings but yet haven’t planted them?

Just while we are on the subject of the NZ taxpayer being ripped off, I notice on stuff this morning that Ngai Tahu and Tainui have quietly just been paid $370 million of top up relativity payments! This is despite them already having had their full and final settlements! They will get even more because the crown has exceeded their billion dollar cap.
And there are still 47 claims still being processed! National promised to finish the settlement process. When is it ever going to be finished? Labour sure as heck will never finish it.
As an electorate we need to wake up. Our politicians are making massive transfer payments of hundreds of millions of dollars to one group of people for the supposed wrongs of the 19th century. Now that we are in the 21st century we can ask when will this ever end?
The best part of 200 years later and our government shows no sign of wrapping this up. Can white liberal guilt last forever? Cmon people let’s man up and finish this thing!

The National Government’s sweetheart settlement deal with Ngai Tahu was always going to come back and bite National in the arse.

Now it’s happening.

The deal was negotiated for Ngai Tahu by then lawyer Chris Finlayson (now National MP). On the other side of the deal was Sir Douglas Graham.

The top-up clauses are featured in the report linked to below. What isn’t mentioned is that the Ngai Tahu deal gave the tribe first (and second) rights of purchase to State assets being disposed of in the South Island – FOR EVER!

With the colossal hand-outs of taxpayers’ cash and assets to them, it’s time the many busineses owned Ngai Tahu and the Waikato Maori started paying comany tax, too. (They are sheltered by being registered as group charities.)

The Vegas Police head looked decidedly uncomfortable when he announced they were going to indict a second person, not being Paddock’s mistress. The casino operators are nervous about losing business, victims’ lawyers are gearing up for a fight, and there are questions about Paddock’s motives. If there is any ISIS involvement you can be sure the lawyers will use this as ammunition, and nothing the Sheriff says to quash this rumour will be be enough. The longer information is suppressed the more theories will surface.

Another 100 day promise gone.

The new Immigration Minister has pledged that regions with “genuine skill shortages” will get the migrants they need.

Minister Iain Lees-Galloway said during a visit to Marlborough the new Government did not have a set target to cut migrants arriving to New Zealand.

Under current policy, Labour estimated net migration would fall by 20,000 to 30,000 a year, mostly by tightening the number of people granted student and work visas.

Lees-Galloway said the Government’s plan to “regionalise” migration would make it easier for regions with shortages to gain migrants and move migrants away from Auckland.

“We do not have a target for reducing overall net migration and actually as our plans take a more regional approach to migration, [the plan] will actually serve the Marlborough region extremely well,” he said.

“We want to make sure that those labour and skill gaps are being filled both by immigration and by other means because we do need to make sure those 70,000 young people in New Zealand who are not in work or training have opportunities to get into work as well,.

Fuck of course, they are not married. They should really think of the kids and get hitched before bubs arrives. I have unmarried siblings with kids; it’s just so half-assed not to validate your union in front of friends and family; also for purposes of keeping records of familial descent; genealogy and history and the kids suffer if the parents aren’t married, particulary between the ages of approx seven and thirteen if their classmates get wind of it. Guess what they get called.

Two months into the 3rd form one of the 6th formers (who as irony would have it played the chapel organ) & his boyfriend (a senior house prefect) were discovered “in coitus delicti” or something like that.
  
  The Headmaster, a man of incredible stupidity & full of religious shit, spent half an hour at the next morning’s assembly raving about damnation & “the beast with two backs”.

        Yep. Leave aside Ali’s hype (which was great for promotion) and his head-hunting, and even more than his ability to move so fast for a heavy weight, it was his capacity to take a wuppin’ and still keep coming back that made him a champion.
        
        Mind you, Frazier, giving away height and reach and having to wear leather to get inside to work the body of most of his opponents, especially Ali, was able to take the punishment too. Their first fight was legendary, but the third, the “Thrilla in Manila” the was the greatest heavy weight fight of all time. One could very well have killed the other if it hadn’t been stopped by Frazier’s corner at the end of the 14th. As his trainer, Eddie Futch, Frazier’s trainer said when his fighter protested that he could still win and this was his last chance to become champion again, “Son, they’ll never forget what happened here today”. said when

But the worst thing about British comedy these days is its predictable Leftiness. Its most merciless jokes are always directed at the bogeymen it thinks (wrongly) we can all agree on: Brexiteers, Conservatives, those unsure about gay marriage or the politics of trans loos.

    Perhaps it’s more to do with the nature of stand-up comedy, which is what most if not all, of our comedians in NZ are.
    
    This is from the Left wing New Statesman:
    
    Stand-up comedians are not the same as wits and columnists and humorists. Strip away the showbiz and a pure stand-up is still a turn, a music-hall act. It’s clowning, and clowns are always tragic figures. Clowns’ comedy came from the inevitability of their defeat, from the gulf between what they want – whether it’s sex with their bored partner or a socialist utopia – and what they are going to get, which is nothing, nothing and a kick in the goolies.
    
    I adds, “Ultimately, the left will lose.”
    
    It quotes an American comedian as saying that in stand-up comedy, you always are punching upwards. If you’re on the Right, you are punching down.
